Chapter 6 - Decision!

The next day, a loud ring was violently broadcasted through the village announcement speakers that even the faraway strays in the surrounding woods raised their heads to stare towards the village's center.

"What's going on? Why did Village chief Park ring the bell?"

"Yeah. Didn't we already have a meeting about the grain harvest just 2 weeks ago? So why is the village chief ringing the bell again?"

"Eh? I suspect some big shot has probably come to buy some of our village's land. Yes, that must be it."

Group by group, many appeared at the village's desolate ancestral hall.

It was quite a worn down place that sometimes served as a meeting hall.

Most of the time, people say on the floors when having meetings in them

Entering the hall, everyone quickly spotted Gort Fairbang and his family who stood on a podium opposite them.

In the crowd were also his sworn brothers and sisters who came with their parents too.

The Rostall Twins: Bullen and Bunten, stood with red ears beside their father, Hendo Rostall.

One could tell that they've spent their past days in agony with how red their ears were.

No doubt Old Rostall must have pulled on them too hard in anger.

Their mother was also beside them, carrying their kid sister, Bulta, who was 5 years old.

In attendance were Tenten Axell, Katrina Shield, and Mett Linty, alongside their families.

These 5 youths were Gort's right hand people.

Each of them looked to Gort Fairbang respectfully, knowing that this matter must have something to do with the flood.

There was complete trust in their eyes, when staring at their leader.

"Alright, everyone," Park Fairbang began. "As many of you know, my brat—Gort—just returned from the county yesterday."

Pausing, Park Fairbang sucked in air. And when he continued, his voice was as loud as a bear's roar.

"Everyone!!!!..." Park Fairbang continued. "I want to tell you that unlike what many of you speculate, he has returned because he is promising and wants to help our village come out of poverty!"

Just him? Several people sneered, while some already believed in Gort Fairbang.

No matter how 'bad' he was, he was also a straight A-student with a genius record.

What's more, they trusted their eyes and after a long time with Gort Fairbang, felt he was actually a very good person.

"Well, I've said all I can." Park Fairbang shrugged. "Now, I'll let the brat tell us all about his grand plans."

Gort moved closer to the edge, grabbing the megaphone in his father's hand with a wry smile.

Why did he have the feeling that his father was trying to set him up here?

Want to see his jokes?

Tch–

Gort felt his father was childish.

.

Looking at the crowd, he showed no signs of wavering.

Years of being in the spotlight made him comfortable with addressing the crowd.

"Uncles, aunts, grandparents, seniors."

"I, Gort Fairbang, called you all here to introduce the company I am about to start. It will be called GF World Tech."

"Our first project will be the Immortal Cultivation Plant Project."

"Our first goal will be to cultivate fruits and nuts to a higher rank that cures fatigue and simple diseases!

"Once our fruits are made, they will be sold for 10 times the market price. So even a catty of fruit can be sold for 200~900 Gwins, depending on the fruit."

{**Gwin is the currency of their Country. The country they live in is called Gwintai.**}

What?

400~700 Gwins?

~Boom!

A magical explosive effect took place on the minds of many. Now, more and more people's ears were alert.

"Really? So profitable?"

"That is, a single catty of fruit nowadays goes for 5~10 Gwins. And now, you're telling me a single Catty of your goods will be a hundred times more in price? How can this be?"

"Are your old ears finally clogged? Didn't you hear little Gort say these types of fruits can cure simple diseases and make the body stronger?"

"With such capabilities, it will make sense for it to be sold like this. But the real question now is whether my head can believe what my ears are telling me."

"Exactly! How can simple, common, ordinary, everyday fruits be able to cure fatigue or even cure other simple diseases? Impossible! I would rather believe pigs can fly than believe such a crazy thing."

Do you know what you're suggesting?

Don't you think it's a little bit of a stretch to get them to believe in such a vision?

Yes, Gort Fairbang was a genius and highly intelligent. But did this mean that he could suddenly develop such godly things in a twinkle of an eye?

(?~?)

Sweeping his eyes across the crowd, Gort Fairbang knew their thoughts but didn't mind.

Many times, people say: in the future, so and so will become a reality.

In the future, we will be able to travel to another galaxy in a few seconds.

In the future, we will be eating floating slices of bread.

In the future… in the future… in the future...

These were always the words many used.

But should such inventions appear in today's society, their instincts would be to first deny the existence of it, concluding the news is a joke of the century.

Right here and now, people are witnessing the birth of a genius but refuse to believe anything he mentions could be a reality.

Gort Fairbang shrugged.

"Everyone!" He continued.

"The true reason I gathered you all here is just like my father said, to get our Geldhan Village out of poverty. Which is why, my first project, and many other projects will give priority to everyone here."

"What do I mean? I am saying that I wish to give our generations a way out, giving them a steady stream of income for many years to come."

"I know there are a little over 400 households in our Geldhan Village. 1000 Gwins is equivalent to buying 1 share for the project."

"Everyone will have 1 week to submit the amount to my father, if they want to be considered as shareholders."

Instantly, the crowd began boiling, as many spoke of their intentions.

1000 Gwins was actually something every household could afford.

It wasn't a lot, but was also a significant amount that was very noticeable.

After listening to Gort Fairbang, some people felt it was a good idea.

Being a shareholder means they will get money once or even 3 times a year because of their little contribution.

It could also be a flop or a disappointment, but those who believed in Gort Fairbang's potential decided to become shareholders, no questions asked.

"Uncles, Aunties, Grandparents, Elders .. believe this junior when he says he will definitely make you all rich!"

Gort Fairbang hurriedly added, "The minimum acceptance will be 1000 Gwins!"
