Chapter 5 - Money, Money, Money

Is it too late to shove their son back into his mother's womb for reprocessing?

But… but what if?...

Park Fairbang And Clare Rei looked at each other, with expressions that said it all.

The more they listened, the more silent they grew.

They knew their son was not a liar, but this matter was just so unbelievable to them.

The world has been here for millions and millions of years. And now, you suddenly tell them the end is coming and you don't want them to react this much?

Park Fairbang looked at his son with an expression of hating steel, except… one could also find helplessness in his Sternness.

"You mean you left school because of some great flood that will soon engulf the world? If it's true then… "

Park Fairbang paused, shaking his head sideways.

"Forget it. More importantly, why is it only you who knows this? Or do the higher ups know this and are choosing to keep quiet about it?"

Gort Fairbang shook his head sideways, "I dare to say that I might be the first one to know."

Do you know how long he has tried to get the word out?

The moment he knew for sure, he submitted it to the famous academia Organization through his professor, and even sent it to the military.

But it seems they have either not seen it, or it has been discarded.

In any case, he didn't have time to waste in waiting.

What if they decide to look at his submissions 2 months later? Wouldn't that mean the world has wasted 3 months of time?

And even those who did reach back to him, blatantly laughed in his face, saying such a thing can NEVER happen.

In conclusion, they just didn't believe that the world would be coming to an END.

In the room, Clare Rei thinned her lips so hard that they all but disappeared.

She knew her son very well.

The way he looked at them told her he was serious. And as they say, it's better to believe than to regret when the town comes.

If this whole thing is a miscalculation, they will surely recover from it in the long run. But if it is true, then… then, then they must prepare for the inevitable!!

Park Fairbang also felt the same. And for the fort time in a long while, he felt a heavy burden on his shoulder.

Who was he? Village Chief of Geldhan Village. It was his sole duty to take care of the residents.

Comrade Park Fairbang's long face was no longer knotted with anger. Rather, he was now sighing when thinking of the future.

Drought, plagues… at least these natural disasters allow them to still walk the surface of Blue Star.

But what happens now when all land surfaces get broken and submerged several feet under the waters?

.

"6 months? That's too short a time." Park Fairbang stated, with a crooked face.

Let's say you want to build several ships that carry humanity. It would take at least 2 years to get it right.

"Dad, mom, don't worry… I have a plan." Gort Fairbang blurted out these words after seeing how panicked his parents grew.

His mother was already gripping the hem of her top so long he felt the fabric might rip off any time now.

As for his old man, the huge bearded man bow leaned forward with several beads of sweat covering his forehead.

Indeed, such a news might leave many helpless, but not him.

Although 6 months was a short time, Gort Fairbang didn't believe he wouldn't be able to at least, save his parents, friends, and villagers, despite the fact that some saw him as a disappointment and a scrounge.

'I can do a lot during this time, but first, I need money!'

Yes, he needed a steady stream of money to finance the End of the World Project.

But what can he do that will bring money in just a matter of days?

[Host, have you forgotten that you still have this awesome system here?]

[This system will readily provide you with advanced alien tech that will guarantee humanity's survival in the end of days.]

~Ding!

The system's mechanical voice rang in his ears.

[Newbie Pack unlocked—Biotech FruiTreegia Fertilizer.

[Ability—Can make Fruits and plants grow 24 times faster with Less than 0.0000009% impurities and enhances quality.]

Listening to the system, Gort felt it surreal.

Fruits and plants grown in this way have what humans describe as a 'miraculous effect.'

Bone hardness, faded fatigue, stronger genes… the list goes on.

Anyone who eats these fruits and veggies, in the long run, will be far stronger than the top percentile of people in the world.

Gort had to admit that in a future world where everything is submerged under water, humans need a sturdy stream of foods and fruits to keep them alive for the next hundreds of years until everything resides and the world returns to normal.

What was the point of saving people if they ended up starving or possibly turning into cannibals, eating each other for survival?

Very quickly, he received the system's gift, finding his head swelling with all knowledge on this unique fertilizer.

Amazing!

The more Gort knew, the more in awe he was with his gift.

It was a bioengineered fertilizer that could work specifically with the genes and DNA of the peculiar fruits, trees and plants it came in contact with.

Plants and foods have different biological elements compared to animals and humans.

These differences allow the fertilizer to target specific elements found only in plants and vegetation.

In essence, this Fertilizer would be Gort Fairbang's true joinery into the world of Biotechnology.

~Ding!

[Main Missions:

>Task 1: Saving humanity is not just a job for the host alone. Get at least 40% of villagers to participate in one way or another in raising awareness.

>Task 2: Please develop the fertilizer and collect 10 sets of seeds from each plant, tree of vegetation on Blue Star's land surface.

>Task 3: Generate a steady stream of income to support any future technologies to be built before the Flood arrives!

Note//: To unlock more vital technologies, complete at least 1 task given.]

Looking at the tasks and the newbie package he received, Gort knew he could save many more people if he followed the system's arrangements.

But getting the villagers' participation was quite tricky.

'If I tell them about the flood, the chances of them assisting will be slim… However, all talks about money are sure to hook them in.'

As one of the poorest and poverty-stricken areas in the country, money was on a lot of villagers' minds.

Money, money, money…

Gort rubbed his chin thoughtfully, calculation evident in his glassy pupils.

'It seems I'll have to start a company!'
