After dividing up the labor, Gort turned his attention on another matter.
—Company Workers.
'We should also start the process of hiring workers among the villagers, who will plant and grow the fruits on the company's site.' Gort told himself.
Guards must also be hired and cleaners too.
The company site was just their family's farmland surrounded by a newly constructed towering wall.
Again, they also built a lone building that looked like a Pentagon. And in the center of the Pentagon was where the staff could eat, change attires and so on.
The many sides facing the sun, except one, were designed as greenhouses.
And finally, there was one last thing to tackle.
"Mom…" Gort looked at his sweet mother and smiled.
Truth be told, his mother loved cooking. If he gave her any other duty, she might not be happy about it.
Nevertheless, one should never underestimate the importance of a company's chef.
"Mom, you'll be given money from the company weekly, to not only buy supplies but feed us all."
"Well," Clare Rei smiled in acknowledgement, "Alright."
"Great! Thank you, mom."
Gort was pleased with everyone's support.
As for him, don't even ask. He was going to be hurdled in the lab, working on the string of information given to the system.
Just because he had all the information, didn't mean he could get it right in one try… No?
….
Time, they say, is money. But for Gort Fairbang and his group, they knew that time was LIFE!
Every second counted.
They now had 5 months, 3 weeks and 3 days before Mother Nature finally caved into the flood's demands.
Another thing to talk about is hiring. Know that they hired several people in the village they trusted greatly. They were the parents of Gort Fairbang's lackeys.
First they visited the Axell home, seeing Tenten's father who was called Old Axe by the villagers.
Next, they visited Hendo Rostall's home—father of the twins Bunten and Bullen.
Mett Linty and Katrina Shield's homes were also visited down the line, as well as other homes belonging to those close to the family.
Gort Fairbang appeared with his father at their homes and the conversations were quite brief but convincing.
And after they left, several parents now held secret meetings of their own to talk about the Fairbang men's visits.
"Old Axe, what do you think?"
"Aye…" Hendo crossed his arms across his chest with a stalk of hay lazily moving in his mouth. "Well, I'm going. No matter what, everyone knows that the Fairbang men don't lie. So there must be some confidence and some truth to what they were saying."
Although Hendo often pulled the ears of his twins Bullen and Bunten, he knew they wouldn't act so foolishly unless there was some truth to the matter.
Perhaps the boy truly created a genius product that will make them money.
"Old Hendo has a point," Katrina's father—Frosh Shield added. "Still…"
Hmph!
He was angry.
"My little Katrina comes home saying she has dropped out of school, and you don't think I would want to see with my own 2-eyes the so-called miraculous product that made her stop schooling?"
Frosh felt that no matter the money made, education is important.
It's just that after all the arguing and arguing, he was getting nowhere with the girl. It was like her brain was suddenly flooded whenever he brought up the matter of going back to school.
At this juncture, it would be a lie to say he wasn't interested in knowing what product gave her so much confidence to act the way she did.
It better be worth it, or else… Heh.
Frosh scoffed coldly, and several others also agreed with him.
They felt that no matter what, one's education should never be stopped, as only when you complete school can you get a good job in those big city companies.
It's true that the Fairbang boy was a genius, but how can he truly create something as powerful as he claims?
What sort of product can make fruits and nuts grow so powerful that they cure fatigue and other minor illnesses? Impossible!
That was fantasy—a fairytale notion they wished their children would wake up from!
Old Axe nodded, "That's what I'm saying. I don't think it can do what it says it can do. At the same time, I don't think it will be completely useless, or else why would I buy so many shares in it?"
In the end, whatever product came out must be somewhat valuable.
Afterall, he still somewhat believed in Gort's genius-ness, like many villagers who contributed to Gort Fairbang's company.
So why not go and see its true use so they can also see how their investments will pay off?
After agreeing, several parents tactfully left the meeting spot behind the old Banyan Tree, heading back home with deep thoughts brooding in their hearts.
4 days…
In 4 days time, they will officially begin work within the GF Technologies with a paid salary, which was shocking.
But whether the product was worth it or not, only time will tell.
