Chapter 14 - Breath of winter

It been a week since we erased that idiots memories, later that day somebody else arrived, another of Tongs disciples, they discussed how they going to do it. Tongs company will build and sell the heaters to towns and cities.

They would install them on this town for free though as a sign of good will and to apologize for that idiot, for the past week they have doing it, five heaters have been installed around town, the temperature has increased slightly and people no longer has to flood his restaurant for warmth.

As expected Yamiko got mad about the price we've set for the medicine. We? Asked Yamino.Wait was I thinking that out loud? Yes it very weird said Yamiko. I think it cute boss, said Cassie with her jovial voice skipping about. Well that embarrassing, he thought. You still doing it. Well then stop listening to my thoughts.

Anyways as I was saying, she did want to raise the price but before she could, the pharmaceutical association arrived. We didn't even know that was a thing, we just thought there was a pharmacy that sells medicine and the alchemist there were hired.

Apparently we were wrong, all the alchemist around do work for the pharmacy or rather at the pharmacy. If you want to sell medicine you have to join their association and give them a percentage of your profits.

There was no way Yamiko was taking that. She just straight up told to go f themselves. That seemed to anger them. They did try to sell us out by making their medicine cheap. This sales battle lasted for an entire month before they came to ask for a truce.

Petty as she is Yamiko knew this medicine thing wasn't ours, we would drop it eventually. She cuts a deal with them. She would sell the medicine in bulks to them in a cheap price but she also wanted to respect my wishes and the reason I made the medicine in the first place.

They could see the medice but the market price should not be above 10 silver coins for commoners and they can make it higher for nobles and merchants we don't care, they are rich.

They agreed, then came another issue, we had to find people to make more of it because there was no way I am doing that. We asked Cassie if she knew anybody with medical knowledge.

Since it was technically a mortal remedy it needed only the knowledge of mortal herbs, mortal doctors with a week of training could probably do it. She knew a few, Infact she was one of them.

She promised to bring the rest tomorrow, she seemed excited about it. We recieved a letter from Luke, they had arrived at the Snow household and would be back in a week.

-----------------------------------------------------------

After Nobell left the town, she had traveled South with her guard Sebas. They were moving slightly faster than sound to conserve their energy afterall they can't constantly move at their full speed.

Even with such speed it would still take them 2 weeks to get to the capital of the Snowfield plains, her home. Her family were the rulers of the county. It was a prestigious position but also not too high.

The Golden Raiju was divided into 4 dukesdom, each dukedom ruled by an emperor level expert or family, below them were the provinces, one have to be atleast king level to rule a province.

Below the provinces are counties. Some counties are rules by kings but most are ruled by grandmasters. Below the counties are cities then town then villages. Her family was ranked amongst the lower ranks of grandmaster level families but ruling county means they stand at the fourth position in the empire as the Golden city stands above all.

It was the fourth day since they left the town that things changed. She felt them before she saw them, a group was standing infront of her. There were 5 men and 1 woman all covered in black cloaks.

She stopped and looked at them. May I asked who you are?. It doesn't matter who we are, replied the man infront with a rough voice. I see, she flicked her right hand and a thin rapier appeared in her hand.

She felt a gust of wind coming behind her, straight for her head, she ducked forward and sent a kick at her attacker. They jumped backwards. She turned around and looked at her attacker with a bit of sadness.

If I didn't know better, i would think you actually cared for me mi lady. May I ask why Sebas? I was tired of a being a dog for your family, with the old man dying the ship is sinking and I'm not sinking with it, this is not personal princess.

I see, thank you for your honesty, now I don't have to feel any guilt. Do you think you can defeat all of us by yourself princess? Let find out, then she moved. She moved much faster than sound, all of them did.

She arrived before Sebas and swung her rapier at his neck, he blocked with a huge shield on his left hand and swung the heavy axe at her. She dodged to the side, the axe hit and split the ground creating a ravine a kilometre long and 30 metres wide and it widest.

Before she could attack him again, the woman was already on her left and a man was on her right with daggers aiming for her neck. She swung her rapier so fast to deflect both of them it became a blur even to their eyes, their arms were shaking from the impact.

A giant fireball 45 metres wide lit up the sky, the leader of the cloaked people had casted the spell, the rest moved away from her and the fireball fell towards her head at tremendous speed, she knew she couldn't dodge it but she did not need to.

Although she was good at close combat she was actually a mage. Lord of winter, rise from your slumber and face the heavens so the worthless may not gaze at your peaks, winters breath. She casted a spell, time seemed to frozen, there was a sigh as if the world was breathing and a giant was turning in bed.

Sebas became intense, a brown aura covered his body and shield, STAND BEHIND ME, he shouted with a hurried voice but it was too late, they did however use their own means to protect themselves.

It started with a single snowflake falling from the sky, it seemed to be moving slowly but hit the ground before they could even react. Bulwark shouted Sebas, then everything hit.
