The winter was drawing closer, Fabro had to teach Cassie and the other women how to make the medicine. He had to register them as apprentices first in the alchemist branch in the town.
With that done, what was left was to teach them. It was not especially hard, afterall he wasn't teaching them how to be full pledged alchemist, they only had to learn the herbs and the process necessary to make the medicine.
Of them Cassie was the best and second to her was a woman in her 40s, they were the fastest learners. The woman was strange, it was as if the herbs were happy to be around her and Cassie had an uncanny ability to know how and when to adjust the heat making the extraction process much simpler for her.
The others were good too, they were all really fast learners, within a week they could already make it, it purity did not match his but it was still good. With all of them working for hours they were able to produce enough to sell to the pharmacy.
According to Cassie if they are given a few months they would be able to train even more people and produce it in even larger quantities and money would flow in. MONEY? how much are we talking? Asked Yamiko with gold coins shining in her eyes.
I don't know, a lot? What do you need? He asked her. A larger lab I guess. Okay, Yamiko buy the surrounding buildings. Yes boss, she replied excitedly. Luke was supposed to return within this week with the Snow girl but he had not.
Fabro trusted he was fine so he didn't worry too much about him. They bought the two buildings on the left side of the restaurant for a hefty sum of over 3 times the market price, the owners were all too happy to accept the deal,it did piss Yamiko off though, she felt cheated.
Fabro built a lab in those buildings and connected them, Cassie transferred to the lab from the waitressing job. With Yamiko back she was not really needed there anyways.
Life was slow afterwards but enjoyable, he got to cook, experiment with potions, infact he accidentally made a potion that promotes the growth of plants, it can even grow them on metal, it was truly strange.
He remembered something about laser weapons from his past life, he was not certain how they would be made in a world without magic but he sure as hell had an idea how to achieve that here.
The first weapon he wanted to build was a gun, a laser gun. It was not really hard making the body, he already had a design from his memories. He drew the blue prints of the gun.
It was a metre long two handed gun with a thickness the size of a grown mans hand. It was white with blue lines here and there. With his skill it took him about 3 Minutes to make it.
The gun looked really cool,he went out of his forge and stood outside. He pointed the gun at a distance hill, he poured his qi Into it, even though qi couldn't be used to do magic or techniques that need mana it was very good with weapons.
Unfortunately it could not be used on weapons forged by others as the runes on them are drawn with mana meaning he can only use weapons forged by him but on the upside it made those weapons stronger.
He watched as the qi traveled through the formations inside. The sequence was a simple one, it transferred energy and compressed into into a point when you pressed the trigger, it released that energy through the barrel at tremendous speeds.
He pressed the trigger, pure golden qi shot out of the barrel and hit the hill and it top blew into fragments. He smiled, it was as powerful as he expected it,like any other weapon he made, it could easily conduct his laws and intent.
He called Yamino, as a mage she was better at mana control than her sister. He asked her to shoot using the gun and she did. They both frowned, it a bit weaker than I expected, he said.
I feel my intent dissipating when I use this thing, said Yamiko. I see, the energy release is still at master level even if weaker than a true master it would be very dangerous to acolyte,he said.
Yes but it is useless to any master. Yeah, thank you Yamino. He went back Inside. This time he was going to try something else, he made the same gun but made a hole in it near the handle.
It looks cool. Of course it does, I made it. She didn't bother saying anything to that, she took the gun with a hole in it. Fabro had inserted a rank 3 mana core in the hole so Yamiko did not need to use her own mana, you can see blue energy being drawn to the gun from the core.
She pulled the trigger, the gun lit up blue, the output of the gun was at the acolyte level without will though. So it was actually a bit weaker than actual acolyte but still stronger. They changed the core with a rank 4 one, she tried it again and the dure to the purity of the mana in a rank 4 core, the output rose tremendously.
Although the output rose, so did the recoil, it caused even her to take a step back. Although the output rose to master level, a weak master but one nonetheless, the recoil rose to match it.
A weaker person would not be able to use this and it pretty useless to a master so what your point in making it. Well it works for me. Why don't you make it with higher grade material?
Sky grade is the highest I can use, heaven grade has laws and you know what happens when somebody without laws try to use a weapon with one. Yeah I learnt that the hard way, she said.
I'm facing the same issue crafers have faces for years with crossbows. They were not very good at conducting will or laws, even bows and arrows were a better conductor than them.
Bows and arrows are quite an issue as well, long range weapons are troublesome like that but they still better, except for the Elven race, there are few people with affinity toward them but crossbows are different, it as if the world does not recognise them.
So what do you plan to do with them? I'll figure it out. It about time Luke returns.
