Nobell had watched the man stumble drunkenly towards her. She had a feeling she had seen him before but could not remember where, it was as if her memory was clouded in fog.
The man stood infront of her and looked at the one before her, he didn't say a single word. The other man just smiled a little and raises his hands as if giving up. You won't mind if I take my people and go would you? He asked with a smile.
The blonde drunk hiccuped but didn't say a word. It been a week since then, they had arrived at her home and she was currently standing infront of her grandmother next to her grandfather who was lying in bed.
The woman was beautiful, she did not look like somebody hundreds of years old, she looked like a woman in her mid 30s, white flawless skin, blue eyes and silver hair. She looked like a walking iceberg.
Her eyes were cold and detached but she could see the affection in them. The drunk man had stayed out of the White city, the capital of the Snowfield plains county. She assumed he didn't want to be seen and he did ask her to not tell anybody about him.
Her grandmother sighed, I see, so Sebas betrayed us? Yes grandmother. It fine, we'll take of that later, for now we should focus on your grandfather. Understood. So did you have any luck?
Yes, I met with the Lord of Vanity. Vanity huh? I heard he was a peculiar fella, so can he help? He was able to identify the poison and said he can make a cure but he is short of a single ingredient.
What is it? She took out the piece of paper and gave it to her. Her grandmother took it, she looked at the paper, I see, so it is as I thought. What is it? Nothing you have to worry yourself with, child.
She stood up, you said he needed this? Yes, two, one for the cure and another as payment for him. I see, I will be back in a week, don't let anybody near your grandfather and she left.

Noelle Snow, matriarch of the Snow family, an early king grade expert. She had stepped down from the public over 300 years ago and left her husband in charge.
Most believe she died in the red winter that was 340 ago and lasted for over 80 years, the void thralls that invaded during that time were truly terrifying and she would have died had her husband not sacrifice his awakened power to save her.
The injury had dropped him from king grade to grandmaster level. It was then that she realised without atleast two king grade experts, the other king grade families who rule provinces would seek to destroy them, after all they can't afford their positions being challenged especially since a lot of them lost many expert during that winter.
However if they thought she had died and her family had dropped to grandmaster level, they would not bother them, why would those arrogant old monsters lower themselves like that. Only very few old experts know about her.
A few months ago though a winter Fang serpent and a lighting beak eagle attacked her county. Her county was at the age of the empire, it was the first line of defence against the Sun Empire.
Between the two empires was a mountain range stretching 14000 kilometres and over 5000 wide, it was like a giant wall of mountains ruled by spirit beasts, there were a few magic beast clans there as well.
Although it was so close to a danger zone the county itself weirdly had very little mana compared to inland so it was rarely invaded by spirit beast let alone a rank 5 beast like the lighting beak eagle.
She went to deal with the eagle while her husband dealts with the rank 4 serpent. Her battle with the eagle was gruelling, they had destroyed an entire mountain range and turned over a 1000 kilometres of land into the land of snow and lighting.
They hand completely changed the landscape of the area and would probably take 100nd of years for the world to heal it, she had thought the fight would be easy for her husband.
Although he was a grandmaster now he was once a king, fighting a rank 4 beast should not be hard but when she arrived the serpent was dead and her husband was lying on the ground, she found it hard to believe a mere rank 4 serpent could do that to him.
That was until she learnt it was a mutated one. She had to go through a lot of trouble trying to find a cure for him to no avail. To think her little cute granddaughter would find it before her.
When she learnt what was wrong with her husband, she was furious, she had her suspicions but to have it confirmed was something else. She wanted to rush to kill the perpetrators but she knew doing so would bring more trouble, plus that stinky dog is not that easy to kill.
She was currently flying above the clouds faster than the speed of lighting. She knew exactly where to find that flower. The Silver Moon Lily, the only problem was, it was in the territory of some very troublesome group.
She continued flying east, passed the counties of some other people, she had to hide her aura to not alert them, she was certain some of them felt her presence but as long as they don't know it was her everything was fine.
She was approaching her destination, it had taken her days to get there but she was about to leave the territory of the empire. Before her was a dark forest with very tall trees and thorny vines.
It was another danger zone separating the empire with another territory. The forest was dangerous even for her and very few beings could fly above it without fear, she was not one of them.
She descended and entered the forest on the ground. The forest was littered with insect like spirit beast. Entire hordes of centipedes ranging from rank 1 to 3 rushed towards her, with a wave of her hand she froze thousands of them instantly.
She was in a hurry so she rushed through the forest, it still took her two days and she was covered in purple blood. She had avoided the places with rank 5 and above beast, the problem with insect beasts is they don't know fear, they rush to kill anything not their kind.
Due to their persistent she had been delayed but finally she was out. She got out to a snowy field, this place made her feel at home, the ice laws in the surrounding invigorated her, she breathed a long sigh before freezing all the insect blood on her body and shattered it into tiny snowflakes, it looked pretty.
She ran forward and about 50 kilometres in she was stopped by a group of people. They looked exactly like humans if a bit tall and their upper and lower canines were much longer and sharper and they had colourful eyes.
She stopped and looked at them, the group split apart and behind them came a beautiful woman with dark skin and silver hair. If ain't the little bitch Noelle, said the woman with a grin, her sharp teeth showing. Nice to see you too Fenril, she replied.
