"Notice, new remedy created, creation too low, benefit to host minimal" he ignored the notification, he ended up making an entire bucket of this thing, it used up a lot of herbs, mortal as they are they were still herbs.
He did not intend to give it away for free anyways so he can't consider this a loss. He worked until morning, benefit of not needing sleep. Cassie had arrived early again, before the restaurant opened though he called her and Yamino.
I need you two to help me with something. Yes boss replied Cassie beaming, Yamino just gave him a blank stare. I need your help putting this thing into packets. What is it,? asked Yamino.
Something to help with the flu. Measure them into 5 grams packets, we'll be selling each for 2 silver coins. Are you sure boss, something like this usually cost more in pharmacies, 10 grams would probably cost 50 silver coins, over 10 times more than your price, said Cassie.
Really? It that expensive? How do people even afford that? Normal people have to save up for it, plus that amount is never really enough so they have to buy even more. It usually merchants who buy it.
After they were done, they had about 6000 packages, 5 grams each. Fabro had made the calculations in his head, a set of herbs cost around 5 silver coins, actually the myriad poison grass cost around 4 silver on it own.
Each set yields around 300 grams of the powder so he wasn't making a loss. Yamiko will kill you for this, said Yamino. Why? He asked, he was really confused, he thought he was doing a great job.
You losing too much money. No I've made the calculations, we making profits here. Idiot, I haven't tried this but I can tell it a 1000x better than the rubbish sold at the pharmacy.
I can sense mana in it, miniscule as it is, the fact that it has mana puts it at the peak of the mortal grade. So what? I should raise the price? Neither of us are good at this so we should wait for big sis to deal with it.
You can set a temporary price, say it a testing period, that will make people better understanding when you eventually set the actual price, said Cassie. That makes sense then we'll set the initial price as 3 silver coins per 5 grams packet.
I think the price should be set by how effective it is. Well if you took 2 grams it would kill the viruses and give you immunity for a certain period of time, probably around 2 to 3 years depending on your body immune system.
Immune system? She asked. Yes, your body ability to combat diseases, women tend to have a better immune system than man. Really? I thought man were stronger though. Without mana, yes that is true in general but maybe it because of your ability to give birth, your body developed a much stronger immune system to protect your offsprings.
That makes sense, replied Cassie. The final price will be determined by Yamiko. Let get to business. The restaurant opened and before long there were customers. Cassie was going around telling them about the new remedy.
Their coughs were getting worse, infact some of them even had paler faces than a few days ago, they were obviously sick. The cold was really getting to everyone. It hadn't even snowed yet, the true winter is yet to start yet people were already like this.
He turned his head and looked north, I wonder how everyone is doing. People were really surprised by what they heard, a remedy that had mana even though little would cost multiple gold coins.
Hearing there was one here that cost less than the pharmacy remedy was hard to believe. They knew the chef here was also an Alchemist, his licence was hanging on the wall afterall but it was still hard to believe.
It was either the young alchemist was really naive or really kind, both which were hard to believe. Well not the kind part, people already knew he was kind just not that kind. He could make so much money selling this to nobles at staggering prices yet here he was selling it at a price affordable to them.
3 silver coins was not a little, it takes others an entire week of working to earn that but it was still not steep. They were really reluctant to buy it, after all if it was bogus they would lose 3 silver coins.
Crave then stood up, he was starting to cough a little, even the fire crystal miners were starting to get effected. I would like a single packet of it boy, he said to Fabro. Sure old man, he gave him the packet of white powder.

Cassie POV
Cassie, daughter of Crave the miner. She didn't have a last name, after all she was a commoner. She had been staying at home for the past few months, she knew the bills were putting a burden on her father.
After her last job, she was really scared of working for somebody again. A few days ago her father had told her he got her a job. She acted excited, she had to, she didn't want to disappoint him. Don't worry kid, the lad there is a good boy, he'll treat you right, he had said.
Why does it sound like he's selling me to get married. On the day she was supposed to start, she was nervous. She saw him, he looked young, about the same age as her. You must be Craves daughter, the man had said.
A lot of things happened in that short period. She expected him to be like the rest but he didn't even glance at her unless he was addressing her but she understood why, the girl working there was much prettier than she was and she learnt she was a twin, meaning there two such pretty girls working for him.
She was glad he didn't give her a lecherous gaze but at the same it kind of hurt her pride. What surprised her even more though was their relationship, it was more like friends than boss and employee.
And the food they ate was strange, it looked like normal food but it had way too much energy. Ever since she ate it yesterday she had not felt tired at all, infact she had a hard time sleeping because of how much energy she had.
She wasn't an idiots, she had her suspicions as to why that is but she wasn't sure yet, that was until today. Firstly she learnt the boss knew nothing about money and he had created a pharmaceutical remedy that had mana.
Although her mother taught her before she died that it was possible even if one was a mortal without mana, it was rare, only those really skilled Alchemist can achieve it but what made her certain these people weren't normal was what the girl said.
She can sense mana she said, only awakened are able to sense mana, are these people awakened. All awakened are prideful and treated mortals like livestock, are they fattening me up for slaughter? Is that why he pays me so much and feeds me mana filled food?
You okay, she heard him talk, stuttering, yea....yeah I'm fine. He looked at her with worry. If you need anything talk to me. He said with genuine concern. What is she thinking, there's no way these people are evil. She smile, a genuine smile, sure, u will.
