Chapter 13 - Chapter 13: The Lightning Trials Begin – And Kael Breaks Everything

Day One – Arena of Storms

The tournament grounds had been transformed.

Above the floating stadium swirled a violent vortex of clouds charged with raw magic. Lightning pulsed from every stone pillar, and the Academy of Arclis students stood proud in their silver and indigo uniforms, looking down on the regular Academy like gods among mortals.

At the center stage, Headmaster Veylon announced the rules:

"Five days. Ten matches. One team will reign supreme."

"And yes," he added grimly, "divine artifacts and awakened bloodlines are allowed."

Murmurs spread like wildfire.

This wasn't just a school event.

It was a war trial in disguise.

Team 13's First Match: Vs Team Thunderclaw

Zara stretched like she was warming up for a street fight.

"What's the plan, Boss?"

Kael, now fully owning his leadership, gave one glance to the opposing team — muscleheads with lightning swords, speed boosts, and arrogance thicker than armor.

"Let them hit first. Then we break them."

Rayna, seated on a cloud of her own lightning, smirked.

"I like your style."

The Battle Begins

A thunderbolt cracked — the duel was on.

Team Thunderclaw charged, using their speed magic to blur across the field.

But Kael didn't move.

He simply said:

"Zara. Show them why I picked you."

Zara grinned — and vanished.

One moment she was standing, the next she'd slammed her fist into their tank's armor so hard the poor guy bounced off three walls before crashing unconscious.

The crowd gasped.

Selene: "Target two, right flank."

Iris vanished into shadows and reappeared behind an archer — a soft whisper, a sudden silence, and a sleep dart to the neck.

Lyra raised her hand, summoned a rain of enchanted arrows, and pinned the rest of the enemies to the arena floor.

All within thirty seconds.

Kael? He hadn't even stepped forward.

"You win?" asked Rayna.

"No," Kael said. "I'm just letting them see what the weakest version of me can do."

Aftermath: Reputation Grows

The crowd didn't cheer.

They were stunned.

Afraid.

Kael's team had become something else entirely.

From the top row, the Lightning Academy's next champion clenched his fists.

"That bastard… he hasn't even used power. Why is everyone trembling?"

Behind him, a girl in a hood muttered:

"Because he's not supposed to exist."

Nightfall – New Visitor

That night, while the Academy slept and storm clouds flickered in silence, Kael sat alone at the dorm rooftop — watching the sky.

Then, she appeared.

A soft light.

A girl floating on a lotus of moonlight, her white hair like flowing silk, eyes glowing faint silver.

She was barefoot. Wearing the traditional robes of the Temple of Silence, a divine faction sworn to neutrality.

And she said only one thing:

"I was told to kill you."

Kael didn't move.

"And you?"

"I refused," she whispered. "Because I wanted to meet the god who fell for love."

He stared at her.

"And now that you've met me?"

"Now I'm thinking about falling too."

New Harem Girl Introduced – Mira, the Silent Oracle

Mira, the mysterious oracle of the Temple of Silence. She hears the will of the universe, but defies it for the first time — for Kael. Her powers are passive prophecy, soul-reading, and ethereal barriers that ignore divine laws.

"The world says you're a villain," she murmured.

"I am," he said.

"Good," she smiled. "Villains make better lovers."

Meanwhile…

In the Divine Realm, Aureon stood before the gods.

"He's grown stronger. He's drawing followers."

"He's rebuilding his legend," growled the God of War.

"He must be stopped before they remember the truth."
