Chapter 16 - Chapter 16: “Assassins, Apostles, and the Blood Moon Pact”

After the Match – Whispers in the Dark

The arena buzzed for days after Lilliane Rosethorne's public surrender.

A noble from a rival academy kneeling at Kael's feet? It was more than a scandal — it was a warning.

"The powerless prince now has five powerful girls around him… All top-rankers." "What's going on?" "The gods are watching again… I can feel it."

Behind closed doors, nobles plotted. Professors whispered. Spies were deployed.

But one decision was made unanimously in the shadows:

Kael must die.

Late Night – A Sudden Attack

It was past midnight.

Kael walked alone under the moonlight, thinking of everything — the girls, the tournament, the strange symbols appearing on his skin when he slept.

He looked at the stars.

"They're starting to align again," he murmured. "Just like before the Divine War."

Then—

A dagger made of cursed light shot toward his heart.

Kael didn't flinch.

But just as the blade neared him, a blur of steel deflected it.

Zara stood beside him, eyes fierce.

"You left the dorm again," she said, annoyed. "You knew they'd try."

"They had to," Kael replied calmly. "I've grown too loud for them to ignore."

From the shadows, three hooded figures stepped forward. Each bore the mark of a Blood Moon Pact — a forbidden assassin order that only answered to gods.

"We were sent to silence you," said the leader. "You remember too much, Godling."

Kael smiled.

"Then let me show you why you feared me the first time."

Kael Fights Without Powers — And Still Dominates

Kael didn't summon magic.

Didn't draw a weapon.

Instead, he danced.

Every move was precise. Calculated. Divine memory guiding a mortal body.

He used their momentum against them.

He whispered counter-spells before they cast them.

When the third assassin tried to use Time Bind, Kael simply caught the spell midair and twisted it.

"You stole that from one of my temples," he said coldly. "Let me take it back."

Boom.

The ground cracked. The assassins were crushed in less than a minute.

Mira's Vision – And the Mark of the Warbride

Mira arrived late, barefoot as always, her eyes glowing violet.

"Kael…" she whispered. "You unlocked something again. Look."

On his chest, just above the heart, a mark had appeared.

A radiant sigil shaped like a blooming rose over a sun — half-burned.

"The Warbride's Sigil," Mira said. "It means your apostles are returning… one by one."

Kael's expression darkened.

"How many are left?"

"Seven more," Mira answered. "But the next one… she's caged. And very angry."

Divine Realm – Another God Reacts

Far above, in a golden tower surrounded by clouds, a goddess shattered her wine glass.

Lady Vireya, Goddess of Passion and War, stood.

"Lilliane defected. The assassins failed."

"Shall we send the next?" her servant asked.

"Yes," she snarled. "Send her."

"Even though she's unstable?"

"Especially because she's unstable."

The goddess walked to a sealed mirror.

Inside it, a girl floated — chained, blindfolded, with golden eyes flickering beneath the surface.

"Let the world meet… Iris, the Fallen Blade."

Back at the academy, the girls gathered.

Zara sharpened her sword harder than usual.

Rayna kept pacing in thunderclouds.

Lyra was creating volatile new potions.

Mira… just smiled in eerie silence.

And Lilliane?

She knelt before Kael again.

"You saved me once before. You'll do it again."

The girls looked at each other — and something unspoken passed between them.

"From now on," Selene said, "we protect him. We grow stronger… not for him…"

"But with him," Mira finished.

"As apostles," Lilliane whispered, "reborn."
