Chapter 8 - Chapter 8: The Powerless Prince vs. the Noble Champions

The Tournament Begins

The Royal Academy Tournament wasn't just for sport — it was tradition, legacy, and a brutal test of strength.

The entire kingdom watched as nobles flaunted their magic.

Beasts were summoned.

Spells painted the sky with arcs of flame and lightning.

But when Team 13 was announced…

"The Powerless Prince? Why is he even competing?""He'll be crushed in the first round."

Kael walked calmly into the arena, flanked by his companions.

Zara cracked her knuckles.

Lyra grinned like a wildfire off its leash.

Aeris stayed silent, her sword humming.

Selene scribbled notes mid-step.

Iris smirked. And Veyra? She waved to the crowd — and to Kael.

"Try not to lose too early," she whispered from the sidelines.

Round 1: Team 13 vs. House Draeven

Team 13's first opponents were from Dorm A — elite noble children trained from birth to be monsters.

Their leader: Rorik Draeven, an earth-elemental prodigy.

"We'll give you a five-second head start, prince," Rorik sneered.

Kael just tilted his head.

"Thanks. I only need three."

The Battle Erupts

The ground shattered as Rorik launched stone spears from every angle.

His teammates hurled wind and water spells, coating the field in chaos.

Kael stood motionless.

Zara intercepted a boulder with her bare hands.

Lyra evaporated enemy magic with flames of unnatural heat.

Aeris vanished, reappearing behind an enemy with a blade at their throat.

Iris manipulated shadows, redirecting spells like a puppeteer.

And Selene? She disabled their magical circuits with precision incantations mid-battle.

Kael never raised a hand.

But he never had to.

Because in 47 seconds…

Team 13 won.

The crowd went silent.

Kael's Magic… Revealed?

As Kael turned to leave, Rorik — furious and humiliated — unleashed a forbidden spell at his back.

The Headmaster moved to stop it — but Kael…

…simply raised one hand.

And with a flick of his finger, the spell unraveled mid-air.

Gone.

Vanished.

As if reality bent to his will.

The air buzzed. Even the ground beneath his feet glowed for a brief moment.

"W-What magic is that?""Did… did he just cancel a class-5 spell with a finger?""That's not normal…"

Veyra's eyes narrowed.Selene stopped writing.Iris whispered, "It's starting."

Backstage Drama

Later, in their dorm, the girls surrounded Kael.

Zara grabbed him by the collar. "What was that?! Since when can you do that?!"

Lyra flared. "You're hiding your power again!"

Selene stared. "You're awakening faster than the models predicted."

Veyra walked in, calm and smug.

"Told you. He's not just a prince. He's a storm buried in human flesh."

Kael sighed.

"I don't fully remember what I am yet. But I do know this…""Someone in this school has the stolen fragment."

And all of them turned serious.

"Then we find them," Aeris said, unsheathing her blade.

Meanwhile… in the Shadows

In the tower of forbidden arts, a figure held the divine fragment — now glowing red with stolen magic.

"He's waking up too fast. We'll have to accelerate our plan."

Another voice, female, whispered behind them:

"The gods are stirring. If Zerion regains everything… this world will burn again."
