"Exactly!" one of her fans yelled. "This doesn't prove anything!"
"You're just twisting things to fit your narrative!" another chimed in.
"I can't believe a simple hand gesture is being treated like criminal intent!"
While they argued, a female staffer summoned by Dylan reached into Hailey's pocket and pulled out her phone. Dylan then dialed the last rejected number from her call log.
A ringtone echoed through the hallway.
Following the sound, the staffer approached the same woman from the video and retrieved her phone.
Holding both devices, Dylan sneered.
"Anyone still want to claim Hailey has nothing to do with her?"
Hailey's fans fell silent, their faces flushed with embarrassment.
Still, Hailey clung to denial.
"No, that's not right! I don't even have her number in my phone! You're framing me!"
Dylan gave her a deadpan look and waved his hand. A bodyguard grabbed her by the arm and led her into the elevator.
This time, no one stopped them. The number on the call log had been clearly displayed—everyone saw it.
Hailey's voice trembled with panic.
"William! William, help me!"
William's expression darkened.
"Logan, Hailey is Natalie's sister. This is a family matter. Can't they just settle it privately? No need to involve the police."
Logan's smirk was razor-sharp.
"Oh? Are you trying to teach me how to handle things now?"
William fell silent. Getting into a public argument with Logan was a bad idea. Logan was a madman who feared nothing.
"William?" Hailey called out again, her last hope fading.
Logan suddenly turned to her.
"How did you know William would help you?"
Hailey didn't answer.
"Is it because your relationship with him is so special that he'd ignore the pain of his own fiancée?"
Still, she said nothing.
William's jaw clenched. He sensed Logan was about to explode, and he didn't want to be in the blast radius.
He shot Hailey a look.
"Just go. Trust the police. They won't wrong an innocent person."
Hailey lowered her gaze in defeat and allowed herself to be dragged toward the elevator.
As she passed by Natalie, she suddenly stumbled and slammed into the elevator door. Blood spurted from her forehead.
Clutching her wound, she turned back with an incredulous expression.
"Natalie! I agreed to go, so why did you push me?"
Her voice cracked as she collapsed dramatically against the elevator, her eyes filled with venom.
It was a clear warning: You'll never escape the fate of being my blood bank!
Natalie looked down at her with a cold stare.
This woman seriously has a screw loose.
Even now, she tried to frame her and drag her to the hospital for a blood transfusion?
Absolutely not.
In this lifetime, Hailey could dream on if she thought she'd get another drop of her blood.
Hailey's fans were visibly shaken.
"This… this feels like too much."
"She agreed to go with the police. Why push her?"
"She has a condition, right? Once she bleeds, it doesn't stop. Natalie went too far."
"This is your fault, Natalie. You need to give her blood."
"Yeah, if the injury wasn't your fault, fine. But this time, it clearly was!"
Natalie laughed coldly.
"Well said. You all sure know how to talk big."
"But are you sure you're not brain-dead? Have you been licking Snow Cloud's boots for so long that you lost your basic judgment?"
"Open your eyes! There are surveillance cameras everywhere. If I pushed her, the footage would prove it. Not everything she says is gospel truth."
As she spoke, Dylan had already pulled up the relevant surveillance footage.
On the screen, it showed Natalie and Hailey were at least half a meter apart when Hailey fell.
The fans were silent.
"I used to think brain-dead fans were just an internet meme. Guess not."
Natalie had just insulted them.
"What gives you the right to scold us? Even if Hailey spread those rumors, look at who you've got beside you! The guy in the wheelchair—that's your fiancé, right? And the one standing next to you..."
The speaker glanced at Logan, instantly shrinking.
"Right… your boyfriend? You're playing both sides, huh?"
Natalie smiled.
"You're wrong. He's not my fiancé…"
"What's it to you!"
Before she could finish, William cut in, face flushed with anger.
"Natalie is amazing. So what if she has multiple admirers?"
The speaker shut up immediately.
Logan smirked, gaze thoughtful.
Was William scared Natalie would deny they were engaged?
So, she must've talked to him about this before…
Logan was naturally handsome, and when he smiled sincerely, it was like sunlight breaking through dark clouds—the entire atmosphere brightened. Everyone around was stunned. They had assumed Natalie was just another woman chasing money, but now, they realized she was the object of desire for not just one, but multiple wealthy young men. All of them seemed eager to be her backup plan. Take your pick!
The mall's emergency team arrived quickly. Upon examining Hailey's condition, they became visibly alarmed.
"This isn't just a surface wound. She needs a blood transfusion immediately. We have to take her to the hospital!"
"Where are her family members? Is anyone with her? Someone must come along to the hospital!"
Natalie resisted the urge to step forward and stayed silent.
Across from her, William noticed that Natalie didn't move and stayed still himself, pretending he had nothing to do with Hailey.
Eventually, Dylan couldn't take it anymore. He stepped up.
"Take her to the hospital first. Her phone should have her family's contact information. You can reach them on the way."
"Understood."
The staff carried Hailey away on a stretcher.
Once they entered the elevator, someone finally asked, "Hey, who was that guy just now?"
"Who knows? Maybe just a spectator. Anyway, let's contact her family first. You never know these days..."
As Hailey was wheeled out, her entourage was taken to the police station by Logan's men. Meanwhile, her fans, embarrassed after being proven wrong, quietly slipped away. The crowd dispersed as the mall's security urged them to leave.
Soon, only Natalie, Logan, William, and a few others stood in front of the elevator.
Natalie turned toward Logan and gave him a respectful bow. "Thank you, Lord Logan."
From what she remembered, Logan wasn't the type to intervene for justice. She guessed he stepped in today to avoid clashing with William. Still, she genuinely appreciated it.
Logan's smile faded slightly. That small thank you created an invisible distance between them.
After expressing her gratitude, Natalie turned to the sales assistant. "Let's settle the bill," she said, handing over her card. She knew that no matter what chaos lay ahead, she couldn't face it in clothes she hadn't paid for.
The assistant was just about to take her card when William quickly pulled out his own. "Use mine."
At the same time, Logan extended his card. "Use mine."
