"I'm not asking for a favour." Felix said with his hand still in his pocket.
"If it's for her to be released, I'm sorry but it can't happen." Kael said, while running his fingers along the stubble on his jaw. "We can call a doctor to treat her, but she won't leave."
"What happened to locking her up in prison if she committed a crime?" Vonn who had been quiet the entire while asked.
Kael shook his head, "She has already been in jail once, and…"
"We cancelled our deal because of the fight." Felix interrupted him. "I can still invest in your business, but only on one condition."
Ella swallowed the lump in her throat as she already knew where Felix was headed. She wished she should stab him in the heart for trying to ruin her plans.
"I want the omega." Felix said, turning to Fiona, who also raised her head in surprise as she heard his announcement. "She can work in my pack and still serve her punishment, instead of rotting in a dungeon."
"No." Ella snapped before Kael could think of a reply. "This thing tried to kill me." She shouted, pointing a finger at Fiona.
Kael held her hand and pulled her to a corner.
"You don't have to be angry. I understand how you feel." He said gently, while caressing the back of her palm.
"Look at what she did to me." Ella whimpered, pulling her sleeve to reveal the scars on her body.
"Isn't it better that I get the investment than for her to remain here?" Kael whispered to her.
Ella forced tears out of her eyes. Kael tried to hold her hand, but she pushed him away.
"If you release that omega, I'm going to abort our baby."
"No, you can't." Kael pleaded with her as she had put him in a tight spot. He rubbed his forehead, while thinking of a way forward.
Felix and Vonn didn't interrupt them. Instead, Felix walked over to Fiona's side and drew her limp body into his arms.
"She needs a doctor." He said to Vonn, and Vonn nodded his head, while moving to a corner to make a call.
Kael walked over to where Felix squatted on the floor with Fiona.
"I'm sorry I can't. She has to remain here." Ella smiled broadly at Kael's statement, knowing that she won the game.
"Alright." Felix said without persuading him again. "But she has to get medical attention." He said, and put Fiona over his shoulders while carrying her in the direction that they had come in.
"Where are you taking her to? We already refused your offer." Ella objected as she couldn't stand the sight of him trying to help her enemy.
"The doctor won't treat her in a dungeon. She needs a bed." Felix snapped at them and walked outside with them following behind him.
He remembered the room that he met her in for the first time. He headed in that direction and dropped her on the bed.
The doctor whom Vonn called had already arrived at the scene.
Felix knew that he couldn't leave Fiona to return to the dungeon after her treatment. As he watched the doctor examine her, he wondered which other method he could use to take her to his pack. He could have called his father for help, but the elderly man hated low ranking werewolves and would even add more to her punishment if he heard what she did.
She looked gentle and beautiful as she lay with her eyes closed. There were dark bags around her eyes which showed that she had gone through stress. Her black hair was also scattered along her face, and he leaned closer, brushing the strands of her face.
"She will heal soon." The doctor said as he packed his items. "It's a bit hard for her to use her werewolf powers, that's why the process is slow."
"Thank you so much doctor," Felix shook hands with the man before he left.
Felix was about to leave the room when a hand held him tight. He turned backwards to look at Fiona, clinging tightly to him. Her eyes were glassy like they could drop tears any moment. And then it stirred in him again—the attraction he felt the first time he saw her, but it was definitely not a mate attraction, or so he thought.
"Don't let them take me." Fiona pleaded.
He took a deep breath and didn't utter a word. Her hand felt cold as it pressed against his.
Then he noticed something. The doctor had shifted the fabric on her shoulder to clean her wound.
"Isn't that the same mark I have?" He asked himself and his wolf answered in affirmative. "It is?"
"Where did you get this?" He pointed his hand towards the spot.
"It's scars from the beating." Fiona said, thinking that he was talking about the pink cane marks on her skin.
"Nevermind." He brushed off the thought. Maybe it was just a coincidence.
"Can she be transported to the dungeon now? She looks strong." Ella who had been boiling over stormed into the room.
Somehow, Felix found it hard to believe that Fiona had beaten Ella. Fiona had a calm and quiet demeanor. Although she had knocked him the first time they met, he still didn't think she had the guts to beat up the Luna.
Felix sighed as Kael entered the room. "It seems I'd keep my ten million investment to some other pack."
"Ten million?" Kael dropped his jaw. "You mean ten million dollars?"
"Yes." Felix smiled lightly as he saw the shock on Kael's face. He knew he was pushing a button.
"Goodbye. I'm off to my pack." Felix gave Kael a handshake before walking out of the door.
Fiona felt her heart crumpling like a squeezed cloth. The only hope she held onto was shattered. No one was coming to save her.
"Wait!" Kael called out as Felix twisted the doorknob. "Did you really mean the amount?"
"I'll give you your money, you give me the girl as my servant." Felix assured him and pushed the door, ready to leave. He knew he had to act nonchalant like an astute businessman in order to stir Kael's interest.
"Don't." Ella whispered to him.
"We don't need the money." Ella said loudly this time, so that Felix could hear her.
"I'll take it." Kael countered her statement. "You can go with Fiona."
"What do you mean?" Ella raised her voice at Kael, but he simply ignored her. His mind was already fixed on all the things he could do with such an unbelievable amount of money. But one thing startled him, why would Felix want to trade such a huge sum for a servant?
"I'll get you anything you want, even if it's the most expensive car." Kael whispered to Ella as he held her hand.
She flung his hand away in anger and stormed out of the room. Her mind was occupied with only one thing. If I can't destroy her in mystic furs pack, then I'll assign someone to do it?
"We have a deal." Felix remarked firmly.
He walked closer to Fiona. Kael left both of them alone in the room so he could receive the money from Felix's assistant.
"Thank you." Fiona smiled as she looked into his eyes.
He returned the smile and sat by the corner of the bed. "When do we leave?"
