I wasn't looking for trouble.
Honestly, all I wanted that rainy night was to get back to my apartment, eat some pathetic dinner in front of the TV, and then drift off to sleep like usual.
But fate — or misfortune, or whatever cosmic force personally hates me — decided to put it in my path.
Under the dim streetlight, there was...
A little pile of black fur, shivering and making weak "meow" sounds that could melt even the devil's heart.
I stopped.
I stared at it.
It stared back at me.
Her big, shiny eyes seemed to plead:
"Take me with you... or you're a worthless human."
I sighed.
Me? Refuse a poor little cat? Impossible.
(Official weakness number one: cute creatures.)
"Come here..." I muttered, bending down and extending my hand.
And the miracle happened.
She jumped straight into my chest, as if she'd been waiting for the formal invitation.
Her tiny claws dug into my jacket — and she let out a loud purr... disturbingly so.
I should have been suspicious of that sound. I should have run. I should have darted away like a rabbit.
But, in the dumbest move of my life, I hugged her and rushed to my apartment, engulfed in a sense of self-pride.
---
Inside my warm apartment, I placed her on the couch and dried her wet fur with an old towel.
"Pretty kitty..." I mumbled, watching her lick her paw in a cute way.
Then...
Something strange happened.
Something I was not ready for.
The cat started glowing.
Honestly, I have no scientific explanation for what I saw.
(And I'm a high school student who barely passes physics.)
The light was dim but clear.
And suddenly, instead of a little cat...
There was a girl.
A real girl.
Lying there on the couch...
With long black hair cascading over the pillows...
Skin soft as milk...
Cat ears twitching on top of her head...
And a look in her eyes, oh... that look made my heart — and every vital organ — freeze and burn at the same time.
She was completely naked.
Completely.
(My brain at that moment: Total system failure. Brain operating system: Off. Please restart.)
She smiled — a mischievous, troubling smile — before crawling slowly toward me in a way that made my skin crawl.
"Master..."
She said it in a soft, seductive voice, dangerously sweet.
Me?
I swallowed hard.
And backed up until I was pressed against the wall like an idiot.
It started to dawn on me that I had officially gotten myself into trouble.
