Chapter 30 - Chapter 10: The Silent Fury

But what these battles seemed to mean was insignificant to Rein; they were with the rebels as they hunted dragons, while days went by. Even with all these struggles, it never seemed again to come close to the people he had fought for, the land that he had hoped to salvage. It seemed that nothing was binding him to anything outside the fire raging within his heart, the fury driving him ever onward. 

Rein was staring at the night sky lit up by the moon when Elara came to him. She saw the change in him, how the rage was consuming everything within him. 

"You're not what you say you are," she says softly. "I think you might be losing yourself there." 

Rein's stare hardened. "I'm losing nothing. I'm evolving into what I must be."
