Yet, leadership bore its own burdens: he was expected to come up with plans and strategies and breathe hope into hearts. One thing Rein cared about ending dragons. His mind was not on a new world but in a world where there were no dragons, and his vengeance could finally be complete.
Elara, one of the rebel leaders, became the closest confessor for him. She could see the raging storm in the heart of Rein and would do much to soothe him. "You can choose to fight for something greater, Rein," she said to him. "You can still choose to fight for the future."
