ROY
I told you—I won't let you get hurt.
Fiona sees his hands—bloody. She places her hand over his. Slowly, she stands. Realization dawns. If she freed them, everyone could've died.
Fiona: Let's hurry, we don't have time. (turns around) The balcony is there.
(She leads them, her guilt and pain hidden behind confidence.)
Jack: Hey Jin, give me the rope.
Roy: We need to remove this net first.
Fiona: Umm… we installed it to stop birds from flying into the house.
Jisu: Jack!
Jack: What? (surprised)
Jisu: How are we going to get there? That's a big gap.
(They look across at the smaller building. From the terrace earlier it looked close, but now the distance is more obvious.)
Jack: Hey, I was with you! It didn't look this far from the terrace.
Jin: But how are we going to jump that?
(The tension rises.)
Ruby: I'll go. (firmly)
Roy: Hey, it's not a joke or some short jump. That's a real height. If you fall, you'll break something.
Ruby: What do you know about me? I used to take Parkour classes, don't forget.
Fiona: And don't you forget it hasn't even been a year since you joined that course! (frustrated)
Ruby: Yeah, and it's time for a reality check—to see if I learned something. (smirks)
Fiona: Your "reality check" could cost your life. You won't survive a fall like that! (genuinely worried)
Ruby: Come on, Fiona. If you can do everything to save us, why can't I at least try? And if I die, well... there are plenty of dumb ways to die. (laughs) Jack, give me the rope.
Jack: Ruby, she's right though…
Roy: Don't bother—she's not going to listen.
Ruby: At least you know that about me, Roy. (smiles)
