Chapter 30 - is it the end ?

Joy (calmly): It goes back to Class 10C. A few years ago, there were these two best friends in our class. They were really close—like brothers. But then one of them started secretly spending time with a girl and slowly started ignoring the other. It created a misunderstanding, and eventually, they stopped talking completely.

Jack: Oof. That's rough.

Joy (nods): Yeah. So Roy and I made a pact—we didn't want something like that to ever happen to us. We agreed to always be transparent. That's why we downloaded an offline tracking app, just in case we ever got separated or if things ever got weird between us.

Fiona (softly, with concern): So… did something ever come between you two?

Joy (looks down, then answers quietly): No. Never. Not until that fight… and even then, I guess our bond was stronger than that.

(Just when everyone thinks they're safe, the roar of a jet echoes above them.)

Jin: Hey! Look! Planes—they're dropping something…

Joy (eyes widening in panic): Robin—drive! Fast!

Fiona: What's going on?

Joy: It's a bomb! They're dropping it now!

(Joy scans the surroundings.)

Joy: There! That alley between the buildings—take the bus in there!

(Robin swerves into the narrow alley and stops the bus.)

Joy: Everyone—get down! Cover your heads!

(They all crouch as a distant explosion rocks the area. The sound is deafening. The windows of the bus shatter, but the buildings shield them from the flames.)

Jin: Mom… Dad… Jisu… I love you…

Jisu: Shut up! I'm still alive—and so are you!

(As the smoke clears, the area outside is completely destroyed. Bodies lie everywhere.)

Joy: Is everyone okay?

Jack (pulling glass out of his hair): Yeah…

Robin: Should we move?

(Joy nods. Robin starts driving again.)

Ruby: Wait… where did we find this guy again? What was your name?

Jack: Robin?

Robin: Oh—this guy? He came running out of nowhere, completely surrounded by zombies. He jumped into my bus like a man on fire, slammed the door shut, and told me everything—how his friends were out there and needed saving.

Joy (softly): I couldn't leave them behind… not after everything we went through.

Robin: He promised me he'd guide me back to the camp if I helped. And honestly, trying to survive felt better than just waiting to die.

(Everyone nods, grateful. They ride in silence and eventually reach the camp safely.)
