Chapter 31 - no , it's a new beginning

THE DAY

[AFTER SOME YEARS]

(Jin and Jisu now live in Canada with their uncle. Jisu works at Microsoft. Jin is in high school. Ruby has become a skilled acrobat. 19 Century is now a lecturer. Fiona is a writer and motivational speaker. Joy is a successful director. Jack continued his army service and is nearing retirement.)

(The group stands in a quiet graveyard, each holding a bouquet.)

Ruby: Fiona, are you ready?

Fiona: Yeah… (She walks ahead and gently lays her bouquet on Roy's grave.) Thank you, Roy…

(The others follow and lay their flowers. 19 Century, unsure of the process, fumbles with his bouquet.)

19 Century: Do I… put it like this? Or like this?

Ruby: Just put it down and thank him or something.

19 Century: But isn't there a proper way to do it?

Ruby: It's not a math exam. As long as the message reaches, that's enough.

(They chuckle softly. Joy walks up to Fiona.)

Joy: Will you come to the party tonight?

Fiona: I'll try.

Joy: Come on, Fiona. Please?

Fiona (smiling faintly): Fine… I'll come.

Jack: Why do you still celebrate it?

Joy: Why shouldn't I? He was my best friend. Even if he gave his life for us, I'll always celebrate his birthday.

(They each head to their work and reunite again that night at Joy's lavish home. The walls are lined with photos and video clips of their memories. They celebrate with laughter and drinks—until the clock hits 1 AM.)

Joy: Before you all leave… there's something I want to say.

Ruby (yawning): Make it quick, I'm sleepy
