"What is this?"
Lucifer looked at the red ring and found nothing special about it. It was exactly like the cheap rings that were sold in stalls on the sidewalks, places where rich people would never appear.
But an Artifact that could make Nothing appear from Lucifer's shadow without warning him was definitely not ordinary.
Who knew, maybe the ring's function was better than its appearance? Never judged a book by its cover.
Immediately, Lucifer checked the Unknown Ring's function:
[Unknown Ring Introduction: What am I doing? Where am I? Why can't I remember what just happened? My mind is so strange, I feel like I forgot something very important but I can't remember what it is.]
[Unknown Ring Description: Unknown Function. 0/1000]
'Huh?'
Lucifer tilted his head, looking puzzled after examining the Unknown Ring. This Artifact didn't even show its function, no wonder it was ignored like this.
It was possible that the Unknown Ring was an Artifact that would be disadvantageous to the wearer, but it was also possible that it was an extremely useful Artifact for the user. The probability was 50%.
For normal people, they wouldn't be foolish enough to buy an Artifact without even knowing what its function was. And Lucifer was one of those normal people.
He put the ring back in its place and turned away without even caring.
But Nothing held him back, not letting him move no matter what. Nothing was really strange today.
"What's wrong? Let me go Nothing."
"Buy the Unknown Ring. I'm not joking." Nothing said in a serious tone without any hint of joking like usual.
Nothing definitely had some problem. He had never held Lucifer back, answered Lucifer in a serious tone, and asked Lucifer to do something like this.
Nothing was very different today, as if the current Nothing and the usual Nothing were not the same person.
'Should I buy it? An Artifact that Nothing noticed must have some effect, right?'
This was a gamble. Maybe Nothing was tricking him into buying some stupid Artifact, but maybe this Artifact really had such an effect that Nothing had to go to this extent.
"What is this Artifact? Is it really that good?" Lucifer asked.
"I don't know, but I have a feeling you have to buy it no matter what." Nothing replied.
If Nothing said so, then maybe Lucifer should buy the Unknown Ring. After all, it only cost 10 dollars, and it was the only Artifact he could buy in this store with the remaining money.

"Are you really going to buy this thing?" Morris asked Lucifer, his face showing confusion.
Looking closely, it seemed that the man named Morris was the man with the sinister face who often came to Owen's house and healed Lucifer whenever he fought Luna.
Since he had met him so many times, Lucifer had already memorized his face without realizing it. But that was comprehensible, since there weren't many people with such a unique face in the society.
"Yes, I want to buy the Unknown Ring, is there a problem?" Lucifer replied calmly.
The man sighed and said:
"Listen kid, the reason this Artifact hasn't been bought until now is because no one knows what it does, you must have checked it out before bringing it here, right? It might be harmful to the wearer, yet you still want to buy it?"
"Yes!" Lucifer replied firmly.
Seeing this, the man could only sigh helplessly and sell Lucifer this Artifact.
Why was he sighing? Wouldn't it be good for him to have someone buy something that no one needed?
Lucifer took both rings and immediately put them on two different fingers. Lucifer looked very much like a wealthy man because he had two rings on two different fingers.

There were only 5 days left until the 2nd Trial officially began, but Lucifer still couldn't figure out the effect of the Unknown Ring no matter what he did.
Meanwhile, Nothing, who told him to buy this Artifact, didn't even bother to help him find its true function. But that's okay, if finding out the function of this thing was that easy, there would be more people buying it.
But somehow Lucifer still felt like he was tricked. But the decision to buy the ring was his, the one who bought it wasn't Nothing.
While Lucifer was lying on his comfy bed, enjoying the last peaceful time before he had to participate in the 2nd Trial. He didn't know if Lucifer could leave there to continue enjoying his life.
'I hope I survive. No, I have to survive.'
Suddenly, Owen's voice came from outside the hallway:
"Hey Lucifer, let's get ready to go."
"Where are we going?"
"Just follow me."
Lately, Lucifer had also found out that Owen was a bit of a weirdo, although he was already weird in the first place. Owen would suddenly tell Lucifer and Reina to go somewhere without telling them the time or place they were going to.
Drifting Aurora seemed to be used to it, but Lucifer wasn't.
But Lucifer had to admit that the places Owen took him and Reina to were never useless. Each trip had a certain effect and were really helpful for them.
But shouldn't he have told Lucifer in advance? It was like he would die if he didn't tell Lucifer where they were heading to.
Lucifer jumped out of bed, putting on some makeshift clothes since he didn't have time to prepare anything. Honestly, Lucifer looked like a poor person in this outfit, but at least he was dressing better than a beggar living in the slums.

"Where are we going?" Lucifer asked as the three of them were inside Owen's luxury car.
They had been traveling for more than 10 minutes, but Owen still hadn't said anything about their destination. No, to be more precise, since Lucifer and Reina hadn't asked, Owen had no intention of answering.
"We're going to a guild called Ludex. This is where you'll meet the people who awakened the system at your age, the people who will accompany you in the 2nd Trial. There are more than 700 people there, there should be more, but most of them died in the first Trial."
"Wait, what are we supposed to do there?"
"Isn't that obvious? You will need to get to know them. We have to get close to them to help each other in the 2nd Trial. That's why most of the people who awakened the system in the same year know each other. Of course, I'm no exception."
'Meeting people who have awakened the system huh…'
Although this was a great opportunity to increase Lucifer's chances of survival, he couldn't help but feel uneasy because his ability to talk to people of the same age was quite bad.
He was only good at pleasing the thugs living in the slums, but not the people of the same age. But they were probably the same as those people in the slums.
Lucifer just needed to praise them a little, show admiration for whoever they were, and they would all have a good impression of Lucifer right away.
He was such a genius.
