Jack's POV
When I opened the door and saw her sitting there all alone, something inside me felt calm.
It was like the peaceful sound of the sea, and for the first time in a while, my heart felt at ease.
But she didn't turn around, and she didn't say a word. I stood there for a moment before walking toward her. The closer I got, the stronger the urge to hold her grew in my heart. The urge to claim her as mine.
I never thought I could fall this hard for anyone, but I had lost control. I lost my mind every time I thought about her, every time I saw her, not even after she damn shut me off. That was why I was so determined not to let her go. I wanted to protect her at all costs, no matter what it takes.
I rushed to her, and when she finally turned to look at me, sparks flew. My heart skipped a beat, and at that moment, nothing else mattered, not even my pride.
I pulled her into my arms, my lips brushing against hers, and my tongue explored every corner of her mouth.
