Chapter 9 - Chapter 004: If He Doesn't Look Like Your Family, You Must Have Picked Up the Wrong One!

"Lost to that damn girl!" Tong Airui looked at Yuan Hang as though he were a fool.

"I didn't even tell you, how do you know everything?"

"That damn girl was talking on the phone up on the cliff, I overheard it." Tong Airui muttered to himself, "She won five championships at the age of nineteen. I really underestimated her!"

Yuan Hang saw him starting to zone out and quietly lifted the blanket.

"What are you doing?!"

Tong Airui shouted harshly, startling Yuan Hang into quickly withdrawing his hand, "I just wanted to see if your swelling's gone down."

"Why don't I grab and pinch you like this and see if it swells for you!" The mention of the matter made Tong Airui's anger surge.

After saying this, Yuan Hang noticed Tong Airui rummaging all over the bed for something to hit him with and quickly ran out while laughing.

"If you've got guts, don't come back!" Tong Airui roared lowly.

"If I don't come back, who's going to take care of you?" Yuan Hang's laughter echoed from outside the door.

Tong Airui closed his eyes tightly and angrily pounded the bed frame, "Damn girl, just wait till I recover—let's see how I settle the score with you!"

Yi Luowa, who had just parked the car, suddenly sneezed loudly without warning.

Yi Weiyang looked over nervously, "Did you catch a cold?"

"No, definitely some little bastard's badmouthing me behind my back." Just as she finished speaking, an elegant little bastard appeared in her mind's eye. Thinking about what happened at the cliff, Yi Luowa's face instantly turned red like an apple, and her hands instinctively wiped her pants twice forcefully.

"Weiyang!" Yi Weibang hurriedly stepped out of the foyer and made his way to the vehicle in just a few strides.

"Brother!" The two brothers locked tearful gazes.

Yi Luowa glanced in the rearview mirror at a middle-aged man who had already gotten in the car. Even though she hadn't seen him in person for over a decade, she knew this was her father. Her second uncle had shown her pictures of him many times.

Yi Luowa merely gave him a glance before pushing open the car door and stepping outside. For some reason, she couldn't feel any emotion toward this father of hers.

Yi Weibang looked at his daughter walking around the front of the car, his face carrying a hint of awkwardness as he smiled at his younger brother.

Yi Weiyang gently patted his elder brother's hand, indicating that the child's reaction was normal. After all, she hadn't seen her father in all these years.

Ao Lie set down the ladder and glanced at Yi Luowa standing behind him. Yi Luowa pursed her lips and gestured for him to go up and help push the second uncle down.

"Luowa, why aren't you greeting people?" The second uncle saw Yi Luowa standing by the car, without even glancing at her biological father, and shouted at her unhappily.

Yi Luowa pouted and gave her second uncle a dramatic eye-roll.

The second uncle glared at her fiercely, "Forgot the things I told you?"

Yi Luowa curled her lips. Seeing that her so-called dear father was also looking her way, she quickly gave a deep bow toward a random spot in the car, "Hello, sir."

Yi Weibang's mouth twitched hard. This child...

"Brother, ignore her. I've spoiled her rotten." The second uncle hurriedly tried to smooth things over.

Yi Luowa straightened up and pushed Ao Lie lightly, "Hurry up and help push second uncle down."

"Oh." Ao Lie quickly got into the car.

"Luowa, my child, you're finally back!"

A voice came from behind, warm and carrying just a trace of trembling. Yi Luowa pouted and turned her head to look—a capable-looking middle-aged woman! The legendary mom!

"Hello." Yi Luowa initially wanted to keep it frosty, but looking at the tears in the woman's eyes, she realized she couldn't be that heartless. Without using any formal address, she greeted her biological mother.

"Luowa, it's all your dad's fault—we were forced to live apart for seventeen years." Xi Meichen stepped forward with an arrow-like movement and embraced Yi Luowa tightly, choking up, "My child, you've suffered so much!"

Yi Luowa blinked; she wasn't too fond of the last sentence from this lady.

"I lived very well with the second uncle—didn't suffer one bit." Yi Luowa gently pushed Xi Meichen away.

Xi Meichen smiled awkwardly, "Right, thanks to your second uncle. Otherwise, even if I fought your dad to the brink, I would have kept you by my side."

Sitting in the wheelchair, Yi Weiyang gave Xi Meichen a long meaningful look.

Xi Meichen quickly walked over, "Weiyang, after such a long flight, you must be tired?"

"Not really." Yi Weiyang replied tersely.

Xi Meichen looked around and saw her pair of twins standing far away, then frowned, "You two, come over and help push your second uncle inside to rest."

Yi Lingfei curled her lips, "Second uncle's wheelchair doesn't seem to like strangers. We can't push it."

Xi Meichen shot her daughter a warning look, "Stop talking nonsense! Shaoqing, come here!"

"Got it!" Yi Shaoqing ran over happily, "Second uncle, I'll push you inside."

Ao Lie glanced at Yi Luowa, who had lowered her gaze without reacting. Only then did he step aside to let Yi Shaoqing take over the wheelchair.

The family entered the hall, with Xi Meichen bustling about, instructing servants to serve tea, fruits, and snacks—so attentive it was almost over the top.

Yi Luowa sat quietly beside her second uncle and, while nobody was paying attention, used lip movement to say to him: "Fake!"

Yi Weiyang glared at her and lip-mouthed in reply: "If you don't behave, I'll leave you here."

"You wouldn't dare!" Yi Luowa didn't back down and glared right back.

"Second uncle, Sis, what are you doing?" Yi Shaoqing squeezed his way in, curious about the silent exchange between his sister and second uncle.

"We're playing a game." Yi Luowa scooted closer to her second uncle, giving Yi Shaoqing space to sit.

Yi Shaoqing leaned in further, "Sis, you're really pretty—not at all like anyone in our family."

Yi Luowa let out an awkward laugh, "Maybe there was a mix-up at the hospital."

Xi Meichen's hands trembled violently, spilling half a cup of tea onto her skirt.

"Meichen, are you burned?" Yi Weibang quickly picked up a tissue to wipe her skirt.

Xi Meichen pushed his hand away in annoyance, "Stop wiping, I'll just change into another skirt."

Xi Meichen quickly left the hall and went to the bedroom.

"Second uncle, are you tired? Should I help you to the bedroom to rest for a bit?" Yi Luowa turned her head to look at Yi Weiyang.

"Sure."

"Weiyang, you'll stay in your old room. Your sister-in-law has already tidied it up." Yi Weibang raised his hand to point at a ground-floor room.

Yi Luowa glanced over, stood up, and pushed her second uncle into the room. After gently closing the door, she crouched in front of her second uncle and whispered, "Second uncle, I was just joking just now. That lady had such a dramatic reaction—do you think I really might have been swapped at birth?"

Yi Weiyang tapped her forehead irritably, "What kind of nonsense is that? You're obviously a child of the Yi family. Stop overthinking!"
