Chapter 25 - [ Chapter XXIV (24): "IN A SPAN OF A SINGLE WEEK" ]

[ Chapter XXIV (24): "IN A SPAN OF A SINGLE WEEK" ]

John Constantine, a young 12-year old boy that never took education seriously. Which in turn made him held back in school multiple times, couldn't fathom the experience he is now feeling.

He is now actively learning... Like a sponge, absorbing all he sees, absorbing all he hears, absorbing all forms of knowledge he gets in contact with...

Why? Because precisely, learning here is fun. He isn't learning about history muttered by old-men that reminiscent about the old days, probably been there when it happened with the way they spoke.

He isn't learning about boring math wherein people would plus something, minus, subtract, or multiply... For what? To learn how many hypothetical bananas could fit in a van... No, he isn't learning anything about that.

As for a week, he routinely is taught by four Professors... All distinct in their teaching style, entertaining in all, and fun which caused John to get close with his Professors. And in turn for them to bond more closely with him.

The knowledge he is being taught is not bland... But instead it is all about Transfiguration, Potions, Charms, Herbology, Alchemy, Dueling, Flying, and even Care of Magical Creatures.

The last subject he actively likes because he could pet and actively play with Direwolves, or even small branch-like creatures that are shy...

Nonetheless it didn't mean he didn't like the other subjects also. He loves all of them as well, all having their distinct fun... And with the Professors teaching him in different ways.

Transfiguration and Flying is handled with strictness, and focus by Professor Minerva McGonagall. The Head of Gryffindor and stern witch that has a no-nonsense attitude towards learning.

But he does love the times when it'll be time for Flying, because he'll be given the chance to hold his broom; and taught how to fly more precisely, or moves that he could use in midair... It also gives him a sense of relief, and freedom whenever he does fly... So he loves it.

Potions and Alchemy is fun also, it is handled with precision, and knowledge on what he should do, and what he shouldn't. What to throw in the cauldron, or what not to throw, when to throw, or what clockwise is...

To say that it wasn't difficult would be stupid... It was... Alchemy on the other hand is more on free time, he would be told the inner workings of a broom, of a wand, of robes that have spells in them, and how to theoretically make one.

He loves these two subjects especially because it is taught by his favorite Professor, and also Headmaster. The Head of Slytherin is fun, sometimes weird, but chill wizard... That is Felix Harp.

The first-ever Professor that taught him magic, treated him to a buffet, saved him from bullies, led him to the wizarding world, gave him a wand and a broom... To say he isn't his favorite Professor would be stupid... Because he is.

Charms and Dueling on the other hand is the most fun he had out of all the subjects. He found out very quickly, and the others that he has a knack for Charms; easily learning anything that has been thrown at him... That is of course if given the time.

He learnt a handful of spells, and charms, most basics of the basics. But still, even though he hadn't mastered most of them yet, he at the very least could cast it. And that is enough.

To his short-statured Professor's shock, almost fainting from sheer joy when he realized this fact. Even John was contaminated with this enthusiasm of his Professor, though weird in realizing that his Professor is short... A dwarf-like entity, he still learnt to be close with the man in their short span of learning.

They have gotten close to the point in which, when it would be time for the House Head of Ravenclaw to teach him, he would undeniably extend their study session; which in turn made John learn more things, more on theoretical aspects of magic.

Sometimes he couldn't understand the man due to the deep english the man uses, or even due to the rapid talking the shorter wizard would do, but still... Through it he was able to learn more.

Making him easily have the top second spot of his favorite Professors, right closely behind Professor Harp. And also because the said short-statured Professor is great at Dueling, beating him up with ease, and pointing out his faults each time...

He still doesn't fully comprehend how a simple levitation charm could be modified, and instead be used on individuals to momentarily pause them in midair... He still doesn't, in the future he wants to know.

Herbology is about tending to plants, widely various plants that he hadn't heard of before, may it be extinct or not, magical or not, how to use the plants as potion ingredients, or how it could be used effectively and efficiently.

Apparently sunflowers could brighten the mood of whoever ate it, if added to other ingredients... He only found out two days prior, and hopefully he could use this knowledge to boast to the other students when school-year starts.

Care of Magical Creatures on the other hand is a simple subject, he gets to be friendly with Direwolves, supposed wolves ancestors that are bigger than the current wolves he sees on the television in some cases.

He also pet an ostrich, some weird-looking bird, dinosaurs... Which he still couldn't fathom really does exist. Other magical animals like a flying golden bird that looks like a ball, or even chubby birds that flicker in and out of existence...

He experienced many novel things, with the assistance of his Professor. The chubby, kind-hearted, but sometimes timid Professor Sprout; which also is the Head of Hufflepuff.

He is still progressing on his studies... Diligently in so. Studying even when eating, or even after the sessions is over would he ask numerous questions that he thought of...

The eagerness of John was known, and that'll be to consume knowledge and better understand wizardry before the school-year starts. But the eagerness of the Professors is because they want to teach him.

Learn how the young mind works before 100+ more students enter Hogwarts. And also because they want to effectively know if their teaching plan actually works... To some extent it does. To some extent it doesn't.

Valuable data is valuable data, to Professor McGonagall, Professor Harp, Professor Flitwick, and Professor Sprout who have never taught a single person before, or even thought of being a Professor before being stomped.

Apparently teaching a single student is fun... Then how about 100+ more? Would this enthusiasm of theirs be consumed? Especially because just John Constantine alone, is confusing to them. To the rest, for Felix on the other hand he isn't.

Because Felix is also from the 21st century, not this universe's 21st century, but still the 21st century. So he easily got along with John, and could even answer his questions easily... Which he relates too.

In comparison to that, the other Professors who lived in the literal 1900s don't connect well with the boy... But to some extent they do understand him. Thankfully, they could still provide answers.

They've already recorded and remembered the barrage of questions thrown at them by this lone student... And in the future, when the school-year starts; they hope that they could much better answer the eager questions of the other students.

To much better explain the concept of this, or the concept of that. To much better let them experience the joys of magic, learning...

So this learning in some ways isn't just for John Constantine alone. But, instead also for the faculty members, to much better grasp teaching.

I guess you could say they benefit from one another... But still, the most beneficiary of this is still the Headmaster...

Who's now drowning in Points, his investment seemingly showing signs of profit with it still blooming.
