Chapter 28 - Fight and Qualification

POV: Arano

The Hokage and Raikage are both seated with me inside the arena where the genin from each village are set to compete.

As the three most significant figures present, we were given the best seats, offering us an excellent view of the entire arena.

The Hokage sits to my right, with the Raikage positioned to his right.

The mood today is much better than yesterday's.

The Raikage arrived unexpectedly yesterday, in the middle of the day, surprising both me and the Hokage, as we had anticipated his arrival later. I was initially disappointed when I saw him, but the Hokage managed to handle the situation well, so no issues arose.

Though nothing occurred yesterday, today could be different. Our shinobi will fight for the chance to become Chunin, which could lead to tension between the Raikage and me.

If he dares insult me again, I'll show him what it means to be cut in half, even if he's relatively strong for someone so crude.

I recall that he can cloak himself in chakra, enhancing his physical and mental abilities, possibly even his chakra reserves. He also wields raiton, making him formidable, but not invincible.

Perhaps I should stop worrying. Maybe nothing will happen, and everything will be fine, but for now, I have more pressing matters to focus on than the potential enemies around me.

The first battle is about to begin. I hear the loud announcement, "The first fight will be Onakite Uchiha vs Tabe from Suna." The fighters enter the arena, and the announcer calls out, "3, 2, 1, fight."

The Suna genin looks stunned by the quick attack, but he manages to perform some hand signs, using a wind jutsu to defend against the fireball. Despite using more chakra than his opponent, he succeeds in protecting himself.

The Suna shinobi throws a few shuriken at the Uchiha, but none of them land. The Uchiha seizes the opportunity to close the distance, landing a powerful kick to his opponent's stomach, sending him flying back several meters.

The Suna genin, now lying on the ground, watches as the Uchiha advances. Fearing another attack, he uses a wind jutsu, creating slashing winds that strike the Uchiha, seemingly giving him the advantage. Unfortunately for him, the Uchiha was already under a genjutsu. Without even needing to cast a jutsu, the genin's fate was sealed. The Uchiha approached silently, placing a kunai to his neck.

"The Winner of the first fight is Onakite Uchiha."

It's no surprise the Uchiha won, especially with his two-tomoe Sharingan. He was clearly stronger than the Suna genin. If he continues like this, he'll grow even more powerful. The second fight is about to begin—perhaps it will be more exciting than the first.

"The Second fight will oppose Umekuro Aburame vs Inakami from Kumo."

At first, I thought this would be an interesting battle, but now I feel it will end quickly. Why? Because if the Kumo genin can use raiton, then all of the Aburame's attacks will be ineffective. Raiton is highly effective against insects.

And I was right. As the fight begins, the Aburame genin sends his insects toward his opponent, but the Kumo shinobi uses raiton to unleash a flash of lightning, destroying all of the insects. The fight quickly turns one-sided as the Kumo ninja charges at his opponent. He uses raiton again to knock out the Aburame genin. The Konoha genin had likely hoped for a taijutsu or kenjutsu clash, but instead, his opponent finishes him with a raiton jutsu.

The second fight was over in no time.

The next battle promises to be more interesting, as it involves a genin from my village.

"In the third fight, Doki Sarutobi will face Togi Haishori."

"3, 2, 1, start!"

Doki is the first to act, launching a massive fireball toward his opponent.

Togi quickly constructs a stone wall to block the fireball, throwing a few shuriken in retaliation. Doki does the same, but all the shuriken are deflected in various directions.

To break through the blockade, Doki fires a smaller fireball while Togi builds another wall to protect himself.

As Togi thinks of his next move, Doki has already moved to the left, gaining a perfect angle to strike.

Doki releases his largest fireball yet.

Togi responds instantly, constructing another wall, expending a significant amount of chakra to prevent it from shattering upon impact. Though the wall holds, the time spent defending gives Doki a crucial opening.

Doki fires another fireball, and Togi continues defending with his wall. Doki's relentless assault continues until Togi runs out of chakra and his wall collapses.

Togi is hit by a fireball. Though the wall partially shielded him, it wasn't enough, and he's severely burned and unable to move.

A booming voice declares, "The winner of the third fight is Doki Sarutobi."

Autor Note : hello

something about kenjutsu ( from wiki )

Kenjutsu (literally meaning: Sword Technique) pertains to techniques that entail the use of swords, whether the users be shinobi, or samurai. Kenjutsu can be used in combination with taijutsu, ninjutsu, fūinjutsu, chakra flow and even genjutsu in order to achieve more devastating techniques. It is regarded as a branch of bukijutsu.

The entire military might of the lone samurai nation of the Land of Iron have all been depicted as practitioners of kenjutsu. Some shinobi villages seem to promote the use of kenjutsu as well, such as Kumogakure, and due to the tradition of the Seven Ninja Swordsmen of the Mist, every single Kirigakure villager strives to master kenjutsu from their childhood onwards.
