Chapter 6 - Jennifer are you pregnant?

Colton was dressed in black clothes and pants, his handsome face still cold and indifferent as ever, and his empty gaze accurately fell on her, as if 'appraising' a prey about to pounce.

Even sitting in a wheelchair, it did not diminish his oppressive and powerful aura.

Colton witnessed the entire process of the two 'red images' fighting, but he didn't care about the drowning Stephen in need of rescue.

His eyes stared intently at Jennifer's lower abdomen, his eyebrows furrowing: there was an extremely intense red color there, as if hiding a vibrant new life inside...

"Jen..." Nelson originally wanted to call out to Jennifer, but seeing her shake her head to stop him, he subconsciously closed his mouth.

Indeed, President Colton had come to visit his future mother-in-law today, and it was certain that he wouldn't want to 'see' his ex-wife.

Jennifer suddenly felt a stomachache and subconsciously worried about the child.

The child had barely survived the explosion they previously experienced...

Her doctor had barely managed to save this pregnancy, but she had steeled herself to abort it...

However, when she truly experienced the moment of losing this child, Jennifer's heart surged with deep reluctance—she wanted this child!

Jennifer knew that Colton was blind, and as she boldly looked at his handsome and indifferent face, she felt his heartless coldness even more.

In her heart, she silently made up her mind: The child was hers, why should she cruelly abandon her own flesh and blood because of a man who could never see her existence?

Colton would disappear from her life, and not influence her in the slightest.

After figuring this out, Jennifer was eager to check on her child.

She left without changing her expression, and suddenly heard the sound of a wheelchair gliding behind her.

The next moment, her wrist was grabbed.

Colton said coldly, "Jennifer, stop!"

Jennifer was startled. Suddenly, an intense rage erupted from him—what had she done to make Colton so angry?

Could it be because of Stephen?

"Stephen is looking for his own death; if you want to help him vent, shouldn't you consider that the person involved is still in the water, crying for help?"

Jennifer glanced at Stephen who was floundering in the water, clinging to the mountain, and sneered as she tried to shake off Colton's hand.

"Let go! Men and women should not touch each other so casually."

Colton waved his hand, and Nelson turned around and left, going to find Stephen.

He knew clearly that the boss wanted to have a private talk with his wife.

"Jennifer, are you pregnant?"

Colton grabbed Jennifer's arm, forcing her to bend down, bringing their faces close together, their breaths mingling.

"I... how could I be!"

Jennifer's face changed when she thought of Colton's ruthless attitude when he mentioned children.

She subconsciously struggled and placed her other hand on her lower abdomen, watching him warily.

What was going on?

How could he know that she was pregnant?

Colton tightened his grip on her wrist, his unfocused pupils clearly 'seeing' her right hand blocking her lower abdomen.

His expression became menacing: "Then what are you nervous about?"

In the next moment, he suddenly grasped the hand Jennifer had placed on her lower abdomen, leaning in to get a closer look at the bright red color on her belly.

With a slap! Jennifer hurriedly tried to push him away, but her footing was unstable.

Accidentally, she stumbled into Colton, and the two tumbled to the ground, entangled.

Subconsciously protecting her abdomen, Jennifer landed on top of Colton.

Her small hand pressed between the two of them, and waves of heat spread, causing her face to turn red with embarrassment.

"You..." Colton groaned, his body still recovering.

Suddenly bearing Jennifer's full weight, his joints started to crackle, and he gritted his teeth: "Jennifer!"

His pupils locked onto her eyes, allowing Jennifer to notice that there was something strange about Colton's eyes—the hint of red light was scary.

Jennifer recalled his earlier actions, and how naturally he caught her hand, nothing like the reaction of a blind person.

She was immediately surprised and touched his eyes: "You... can see?"

Colton's body stiffened, and he angrily pushed her away, coldly 'staring' at her: "Are you mocking me for being blind?"

Jennifer quickly rolled over, protecting her abdomen as she got up.

Seeing his gaze linger on her stomach, she pretended not to care as she clutched her belly and hunched over in pain: "I don't have time to waste with you.

My period came and my stomach hurts badly.

Are you trying to escort me to the restroom, Mr. Redford?

Want to ask your assistant to bring me some sanitary pads?"

Colton sat on the floor, his face darkening at her words, hands clenched.

Could it be true that the abnormalities in her abdomen were due to her period?

Seeing Colton's gloomy and silent demeanor, Jennifer took the opportunity to leave, still feeling weak-legged.

Colton's expression while questioning her about pregnancy just now was terrifying.

If he really learned about the baby's existence, she feared he would show no mercy in trying to eliminate them completely.

She must find a way to protect her child! ...

Seeing Jennifer leave perfectly, Colton frowned.

Behind him came the hurried footsteps of Nelson, who was supporting the soaking wet Stephen.

He worriedly asked, "Mr. Redford, are you alright?"

Taking advantage of Nelson's distraction, Stephen coughed a few times, enraged and fuming, "Colton, Jennifer is a lunatic.

She tried to seduce me and then kicked me into the water when she failed.

She's been holding a grudge since your divorce, even pushing you to the ground... You must not let her go!"

Colton sat in his wheelchair, his fingers lightly tapping the armrest.

The cold sensation of the device seeped into his bones, just like his voice at this moment, "Stephen, how did you end up here?"

"I... I came... I actually saw Jennifer sneaking around, so I followed her to the rehabilitation center."

Stephen's heart skipped a beat: Although the Rolan family business is in this area, he had specifically come to the rehabilitation center to meet with Sonia secretly...

Given their prior engagement, Colton shouldn't be suspecting anything, right?

"What did you say?

My sister has been here!" Sonia's shocked voice could be heard, as she quickly ran to Colton's side, worriedly grabbing his hand, "Colton, did she do anything to you?

How would my sister know about this place? Could she be harmful to you and my mother?"

Her whole body trembled, and it seemed as if she didn't see Stephen at all.

She leaned on Colton's lap, mumbling to herself, extremely frightened.

"The parents who raised me have already been hurt by her...

I can't lose you and mom!

You're the most important person to me..."

Sonia choked up, "If my sister has any hatred, let it all be directed at me."

"Without eliminating that madwoman Jennifer, we'll never have peace in our lives."

Stephen looked at the two and said sarcastically, "Colton, I didn't know you and Sonia were a couple before.

My family urged me to get married, so I casually agreed...

She's so worried about you, she must love you to the bone.

You can't let Jennifer hurt your woman and future mother-in-law."
