Chapter 5 - Jennifer is alive

Two months later.

Jennifer unwrapped the gauze, looking at the burn marks on her neck, a terrible hatred emerged in her eyes: "Sonia, you're ruthless enough!"

In order to get rid of her, she didn't hesitate to blow up her own parents as well.

If not for John arriving on time, and sending her to a doctor for treatment, she might have already been ashes.

"The new generation's rising star Sonia won first place in the talent show, with a limitless future.

It is understood that Sonia has already signed with Rolan's Entertainment, and she has a fantastic lineup of fashion resources and film resources..."

"Recently, paparazzi captured Sonia accompanying GN Group's President Colton in and out of the hospital, suspicions of an upcoming event.

Rumor has it that Sonia is the daughter of a prestigious family, and her marriage with the Redford family is a perfect match..."

Bang!

"Sonia!

You don't deserve any of this!"

Jennifer punched the TV screen, her eyes bursting with terrifying coldness: "I will make you taste a life worse than death..."

Her fair hand suddenly dripped with blood, which frightened John, who rushed in and hugged her: "Miss Jennifer, calm down!

You've just recovered from a serious injury, even if you don't want to think about yourself, think about the baby in your belly."

Jennifer's eyes trembled, and she lowered her gaze to her flat belly, with a whirlwind of cold emotions rising: "This child... Came too late." From the day of the divorce, she decided to give up on Colton completely.

Now he and Sonia are inseparable, and in her future quest for revenge, they are more likely to be opposing enemies.

What would this child be then?

"I can't keep this child."

Jennifer clenched her fist with determination, looking at John's hesitant eyes and decisively interrupting him: "I've already decided, don't waste any more words."

She feared that she might not be able to resist being soft-hearted, and would leave behind this child who was destined not to be happy.

The most important thing now was to find her biological parents and take revenge on Sonia...

Jennifer loosened her fist, letting the glass shards embed into the back of her hand.

Blood dripped onto the carpet, turning it red, but she seemed to be unaware of the pain: "Did you find out about my background?"

"We did."

John sent her an email. Seeing Jennifer skim through it quickly, he hesitated before saying, "Miss Jennifer, ever since Mrs. Jade lost her daughter, her mental state has been unstable, and the James family moved abroad completely.

They only returned to the country because they found their daughter."

"Your... birth mother's condition improved a bit due to Sonia's illness, but if she suddenly experiences a shock, the nation's top doctor said she could very likely fall into an irreversible madness."

Jennifer, who had studied psychopathology, gradually turned serious after reading Mrs. Jade's medical records.

Although she desperately wanted revenge, making Sonia suffer worse than death, the price of her birth mother's health seemed too high.

After pondering for a while, she suddenly smirked: "Contact doctor Boris.

I can give him the script for 'Sacrifice of the Mountains and Rivers,' but there's a condition..."

Jennifer whispered a few words, and John's eyes lit up: "Mrs. Jennifer, this move is brilliant."

"Since haste doesn't produce hot good results, I'll take my time and slowly toy with Sonia until her death."

Jennifer's eyes filled with a smile capable of overturning the world, leaving a chilling impression: "I want her to lose everything she cares about, bit by bit, so that life is worse than death!" ...

The Seaside City, a Sanatorium.

Jennifer stood behind the concealed bamboo grove, looking up at the second-floor window.

Her biological mother was inside, but she felt a bit hesitant to approach.

A year ago, she had actually received an invitation from the James family, who offered a large sum for her to treat Mrs. Jade.

However, she had spent that year working tirelessly on treating Colton's illness, refusing to take on any other patients.

But it meant she missed the opportunity to treat her own mother.

Now it was too late for regrets.

At this moment, a sweet and annoying sound came from behind the nearby wisteria trellis, catching her attention.

Amidst the dense wisteria flowers, Sonia was wrapped in Stephen's embrace, passionately kissing him, her emotions hard to contain:

"Stephen, it's almost time.

I should go back to take care of my mother."

"Baby, not only did I take the initiative to dissolve the engagement for you, but I also helped you deal with that bitch, Jennifer..."

"You can't turn your back on people after making use of them, and truly fall into colton's embrace..."

Stephen reached into her clothes, his breath heavy, "Don't forget, our goal is to get the GN."

"Annoying! How could I really fall in love with a blind man?"

Sonia let out a soft gasp: "All this time, I've been pretending to be close with Colton, and it's all for your future."

As she was feeling emotional, she suddenly spotted a slim, cold and beautiful figure, causing her face to turn pale with fear: "Jennifer!

A ghost...a ghost!" "What Jennifer?

My men personally disposed of their bones..."

Stephen looked back with a baffled expression, his face suddenly changing as he looked at Jennifer with horror: "You can't possibly still be alive... Are you a human or a ghost?"

Jennifer, in a plain white dress, stood really under the green bamboo.

Her face was as pale as paper, with a charming smile at the corner of her lips, ghost-like,

"I am a vengeful ghost, here to claim lives."

She swiftly appeared in front of the two, grabbing Sonia's neck and slamming her against a flower shelf, while stepping on Stephen with one foot.

Jennifer took out a black lighter, sparking a flame with a click, her gaze ruthless and icy: "Want to taste the torment of being burned by fire?"

The flame flicked Sonia's hair, scaring her into a piercing scream,

"Let me go!

Sister, don't kill me... It wasn't me who harmed you..."

Jennifer narrowed her eyes dangerously, using force as if to teach her an unforgettable lesson.

Suddenly, a gust-like figure dashed over, accompanied by a sharp scream,

"Get away!

Don't hurt my daughter!"

Jennifer hesitated, being pushed down to the ground by the frenzied woman, her palm scraped and bleeding, yet she felt no pain.

She stared at the woman who was holding Sonia and gently comforted her.

The woman wore a white dress, with white hair, and skin so pale it seemed to blend with her hair color, as if she were an old woman approaching death.

But against all odds, her features were delicate and gentle, like a young, innocent girl.

A pair of beautiful phoenix eyes widened in alert, watching Jennifer vigilantly, like an eagle protecting its calf.

Jennifer's eyes turned sour as she blurted out,

"Mom!"

Mrs. Jade's eyes showed a moment of confusion.

She suddenly took two steps towards Jennifer, murmuring in a daze, "Jennifer, my baby..."

Jennifer couldn't believe it, yet she couldn't help but anticipate her mother's arrival.

She subconsciously thought: Is this the natural bond between mother and daughter?

Even though they haven't seen each other for over twenty years, her confused mother still instinctively walked towards her daughter...

Could her unborn child also have some kind of sense towards her as their mother?

Thinking of the child, Jennifer couldn't help but feel sad.

Her previous firm belief in abortion wavered slightly...

"Mom, Jennifer is here! I'm your real daughter..."

Sonia stopped Mrs. Jade in a panic, and quickly tried to take her birth mother back to the sanatorium.

As they passed by, she winked at Stephen, who hadn't yet recovered from the shock, and whispered,

"Ah Sen, get rid of Jennifer, or neither of us will have a good life."

After saying that, she hurriedly coaxed the confused Mrs. Jade away, her steps are extremely awkward.

Jennifer climbed up in a daze, staring at Mrs. Jade's graceful figure: her mother had turned white overnight after losing her daughter...

The James family had never given up looking for her – she was just too stupid and had never discovered the truth about her identity.

She had to cure her mother's illness, and turn Mrs. Jade James back into the youthful and beautiful Mrs. Jade.

At this moment, a shadow sneakily attacked her from behind, aiming for her head.

Jennifer dodged the attack without looking back, and kicked her attacker away with a counterattack: "Looking for death!"

This kick was filled with anger.

Stephen broke through the high falls and flew straight into the lotus pond behind it, splashing a large amount of water, and yelling for help in panic.

"Stephen.

I'll make you and Sonia pay for this."

Jennifer sneered, her face expressionless as she turned around.

When she looked back, she saw Nelson standing behind the rockery, dumbfounded, pushing a wheelchair.
