Chapter 7 - The One with The Girl

Monica: [rolling her eyes] "Would you let it go? It's not that big a deal."

Ross: [excitedly gesturing with his hands]"Not that big a deal? It's amazing! Ok, you just reach in there, there's one little maneuver, and bam, a bra right out the sleeve! As far as I'm concerned, there's nothing a guy can do that even comes close. Am I right?"

Roy: [grinning, leaning forward]"Yeah, Ross, I get it, but you've never had to deal with the struggle of trying to get a shirt off when a girl's wearing a bra that gets all tangled up. Now that's a true test of patience."

Rachel: [laughs]"Come on! You guys can pee standing up."

Chandler: [mock surprise, deadpan]"We can? Alright, I'm tryin' that."

Joey: [nodding with conviction]"Ok, you know what blows my mind? Women can see breasts any time they want. You just look down, and there they are. How do you get any work done?"

Roy: [nodding along with Joey, joking]"Yeah, that's true. But you know, it's even crazier when you catch your reflection and forget where you are for a second."

Phoebe: [shakes her head, almost perplexed]"Oh, ok, you know what I don't get? The way guys can do so many mean things, and then not even care."

LONG PAUSE. Everyone turns to look at Phoebe, but Roy adds his voice to the mix.

Roy: [laughing]"Honestly, Phoebe, that's just called 'guy logic.' We're great at it. You should try it sometime."

Ross: [grinning mischievously]"Multiple orgasms!"

Roy: [laughing along, rolling with the banter]"Now, that's a whole other level of conversation."

Chandler: [nodding sarcastically]"Ah yes, nothing says 'mature conversation' like that."

Central Perk

Chandler: [enthusiastically]"So, Saturday night, the big night, date night, Saturday night, Sat-ur-day night!"

Joey: [laughs, raising an eyebrow]"No plans, huh?"

Chandler: "Not a one."

Ross: "Not even, say, breaking up with Janice?"

Chandler: "Oh, right, right, shut up."

Monica: [shrugging, trying to help] "Chandler, nobody likes breaking up with someone. You just gotta do it."

Roy: " Yes, Chandler do it for her and for you"

Chandler: [grumbles, rubbing his face ] "No, I know, but it's just so hard, you know? I mean, you're sitting there with her, she has no idea what's happening, and then you finally get up the courage to do it, and there's the horrible awkward moment when you've handed her the note."

Joey: "Why do you have to break up with her? Be a man, just stop calling."

Phoebe: [leaning in, offering a solution]"You know, if you want, I'll do it with you."

Chandler: "Oh, thanks, but I think she'd feel like we're gangin' up on her."

Roy: [chiming in with a grin] "That's not nice, Phoebe. It's not like what we did on the streets."

(Everyone looked suspiciously at what Roy said.)

Phoebe: [playfully] "No, I mean you break up with Janice and I'll break up with Tony."

Ross: "Tony?"

Monica: "Oh, you're breaking up with Tony?"

Phoebe: [shrugs, nonchalant]"Yeah, I know, he's sweet, but it's just not fun anymore, you know? I don't know if it's me, or his hunger strike, or, I don't know."

Rachel: [waitressing, approaching with a tray]"Does anybody want anything else?"

Ross: [grinning, teasing Rachel]"Oh, yeah, last week you had a wonderful, nutty, chocolatey kind of a cakey pie thing."

Roy: [playfully] "I named it Chocolate Orgasm."

[Rachel gives both of them a dirty look]

Ross: [quickly backpedals]"Nothing, just, just, I'm fine."

Roy: "I will shut up"

Phoebe: [to Rachel, noticing her mood]"What's the matter? Why so scrunchy?"

Rachel: [frustrated, crossing her arms]"It's my father. He wants to give me a Mercedes convertible."

Roy: [chuckling, leaning back in his chair]"Ah, classic. That 'young lady' treatment. Gotta love it."

Ross: [grinning, sarcastic]"That guy, he burns me up."

Rachel: [rolling her eyes]"Yeah, well, it's a Mercedes if I move back home. Oh, it was horrible. He called me 'young lady.'"

Chandler: [sighing dramatically]"Ooh, I hate when my father calls me that."

Monica: [sympathetically, looking at Rachel]"Did he give you that whole 'You're-not-up-to-this' thing again?"

Rachel: [sighs, defeated]"Oh, yeah, yeah. Actually, I got the extended disco version, with three choruses of 'You'll never make it on your own.'"

Phoebe: [rhythmically, teasing]"Uh-huh, uh-huh."

Roy: [playfully nodding, leaning in towards Rachel]"That's rough. But hey, at least you get a convertible out of it... If you survive the guilt trip."

Chandler: [laughing, adds sarcastically]"Yeah, yeah, who wouldn't want a Mercedes in exchange for their soul, right?"

( MONICA AND RACHEL'S APARTMENT. JOEY IS THERE, TRYING TO

CONVINCE MONICA TO POSE AS HIS GIRLFRIEND. HIS PLAN IS TO HOOK

MONICA UP WITH ANGELA'S BOYFRIEND BOB AND THEN TAKE ANGELA

BACK FOR HIMSELF.)

(ROSS' APARTMENT. CHANDLER AND ROY IS OVER.)

("After Ross invited himself to the Laundromat with Rachel...")

Ross: [on phone] "Okay, bye."

[hangs up] "Well, Monica's not coming. It's just gonna be me and Rachel."

Chandler: "Oh. Well, hold on, camper, are you sure you've thought this thing through?"

Roy: [grinning, casually sipping his coffee] "Yeah, Ross, you sure you're ready for this? Laundry's a big deal. Could lead to marriage."

Ross: [shrugging, dismissing it] "It's laundry. The thinking through is minimal."

Chandler: [raising an eyebrow, looking at Roy] "It's just you and Rachel, just the two of you? This is a date. You're going on a date."

Roy: [teasing Ross, poking fun] "Yeah, man, just the two of you in an intimate setting, folding laundry... That's practically romance."

Ross: [defensively, but half-smiling] "Nuh-uh."

Chandler: [mockingly] "Yuh-huh."

Roy: [leaning in, smirking at Chandler] "He's right, you know. Might want to rethink that dirty underwear situation, Ross. I mean, this is Rachel we're talking about."

Ross: [sheepish] "No, I know."

Chandler: [smirking, looking at Ross] "Oh, and the fabric softener?"

Ross: [looking worried] "Okay, okay, now what's wrong with my Snuggles? What, it says I'm a sensitive, warm kinda guy, you know? Like a warm, fuzzy bear."

Roy: [laughing, teasing] "Yeah, Ross, 'cause nothing says 'sensitive' like Snuggles... You might want to go for something with a bit more 'date night' vibe."

Chandler: [nodding, deadpan] "There you go, see? You get it, Roy. Maybe something with a little more... spice?"

Roy: [grinning, looking at Ross] "Maybe go for the red fabric softener. You know, set the mood."

NT. CENTRAL PERK

The usual cozy buzz of Central Perk hums in the background. .Roy is behind the counter, casually wiping mugs and humming softly to himself. The smell of fresh coffee and cinnamon wafts through the air.

A young woman sits alone by the window — Lisa. Mid-twenties, sketchpad in hand, a half-drunk latte beside her. She's lost in her work, drawing with calm intensity.

Roy watches her for a moment — not staring, but noticing. He makes a coffee, carefully, like it matters, and walks over with a warm smile.

Roy (placing the cup gently on her table)Refill — on the house. For someone making the place prettier just by sitting here.

Lisa: (surprised, smiling)Oh, thank you. That's... sweet.

Roy (glancing at the sketchpad)You draw like the wind's whispering secrets and your pencil just listens.

Lisa: (laughs, charmed)That's... okay, that's a new one. Most people say how beautiful it is or compare it to the work of a famous artist."

Roy Yeah, but they've already been born. You? You draw like you're making nature remember itself.

Lisa: (tilts her head, curious)Okay, that's not just flattery. That's... perspective. Who are you?

Roy (grinning)Just a humble coffee guy with a deep appreciation for talented strangers.

Lisa: (raises an eyebrow)Mysterious. Are you always this poetic with customers?

Roy Only the ones who look like they're sketching starlight.

Lisa:(laughs)That was terrible. But I'll allow it.

Roy I'll take terrible if it gets a smile like that.

Lisa: (still smiling)Lisa.

Roy . And I'm totally not trying to distract you from finishing that piece.

Lisa Well, now you've done it. You might as well sit for a second.

Roy Coffee and art? You sure know how to make a guy feel at home.

Roy: [playfully leaning forward]" But seriously, I was thinking… you've been drawing and creating all day. How about you take a break? I know a place with the best pizza in town. It's the kind of place that makes you feel like you're in a movie... you know, without the awkward first date vibes."

Lisa: [raises an eyebrow, intrigued but playful]"Are you asking me on a date, Roy? "

Roy: [shrugging nonchalantly] "It's a date and see where it goes?"

Lisa: [smiling, amused by his laid-back approach]"You're a smooth talker, Roy. Alright, I'm in. Let's see if your pizza is as good as your confidence."

Roy: [laughs lightly, offering a hand]"Lets go."

Lisa: [smiling ,taking the hand]"Looking forward to it."

Phoebe: "Here we are, about to break up, and you're asking a beautiful girl out on a date? that's not supportive Roy"

Chandler: "Great job! man"

(Roy winks as he walks away with Lisa)

[A cozy, dimly lit pizza place with a rustic, charming atmosphere. ]

Roy: [smiling as he picks up a slice of pizza]"So, How's the place? Is it as good as I promised?"

Lisa: [takes a bite and nods approvingly]"Mmm, okay, you weren't kidding. This is seriously amazing."You sure you didn't bribe the chef to get me here?"

Roy: [laughing lightly, shaking his head]"No bribe necessary. It's all about knowing the best places." [pauses for a moment, then smirks]"And besides, I'm a man of my word. I told you I'd show you a good time."

Lisa: [teasing]"Well, you're doing better than I expected." [playfully looks around]"Who knew there were hidden gems like this in the city? You're a bit of an enigma, Roy. Coffee guy by day, pizza connoisseur by night."

Roy: [leaning back in his chair, glancing at her with a smirk]"Hey, a guy's gotta have layers. You know, like an onion... or pizza." [laughs at his own joke]"Plus, I've got a reputation to keep up with. Can't have you thinking I'm just all about coffee."

Lisa: [raising an eyebrow, intrigued]"Reputation, huh? So tell me, Roy—what exactly do you think your reputation is?"

Roy: [with a teasing grin]"Well, around here, I'd say I'm the guy who knows the best coffee spots, the guy who's always up for a good conversation... and now, apparently, the guy with impeccable taste in pizza." [pauses, leaning in a little]"But I think, when it comes to people, it's more about the connections, don't you think?"

Lisa: [softly smiling, her gaze meeting his]"Yeah, I guess that's true. But... what's your story, Roy? I mean, you're not exactly from around here, are you?"

Roy: [chuckling softly, running a hand through his hair]"Well, you could say I'm a bit of a wanderer. I've had my fair share of adventures. Sometimes" [shrugs casually]"But enough about me—what's your story, Lisa? I'm guessing you didn't always have sketchbooks and art supplies with you everywhere you went."

Lisa: [laughs, then becomes more thoughtful]"Yeah, it wasn't always like this. I used to be the one who couldn't even draw a straight line. But somewhere along the way, I started seeing the world differently. Everything just... clicked. Now, I can't go a day without drawing something."

Roy: [nodding appreciatively]"That's pretty amazing. It's like you've found your own rhythm, your own way of seeing things."

Lisa: [smiling shyly, feeling the warmth between them]"Yeah, I guess you could say that. It's not always easy, but it's what keeps me going." [pauses and looks at him]"So, tell me... do you always do things like this? Invite random people out for pizza after a few coffees?"

Roy  [laughs lightly, shaking his head]"Only when I meet someone interesting and beautiful. And, well, you're interesting, Lisa—and definitely beautiful."[grins and leans in slightly]"But, if you're asking if I do this all the time... I guess you could say I'm a bit more selective with who I spend my time with."

Lisa  [smiling, feeling flattered and a little playful]"Well, I guess that makes me feel special then. Not everyone gets the Roy treatment."

Roy  [with a wink]"You're definitely earning it, Lisa. Who knows? Maybe you'll even get a second round of pizza after this one."

Lisa  [laughs softly, relaxing into the moment, feeling the natural connection between them]"I think that sounds like a great deal."

Roy  [sitting back in his chair, his smile softening, genuine]"Well, here's to new experiences. And, hopefully, more pizza."

Lisa  [clinking her glass to his]"To new experiences."

Roy  smiled as he took a step closer to Lisa. "You know, I'm really glad we did this. I wasn't sure at first, but..." He trailed off, his words soft, eyes meeting hers. "It's been... really nice."

Lisa looked up at him, her expression warm, a little surprised but mostly pleased. "I'm glad you feel that way," she said, her voice light. "I've enjoyed it too. Just... being here. With you."

Roy  smile deepened as he reached over, brushing a loose strand of hair behind her ear. The touch was gentle, and his fingers lingered for a second longer than necessary. "You're pretty amazing, you know that?" he murmured, his voice almost a whisper.

Lisa blinked, slightly caught off guard by his words. "I'm sure you say that to all the girls," she teased, her smile playful.

Roy chuckled softly, shaking his head. "Not really. You're different, Lisa."

The teasing light in her eyes faded just a little, replaced by something more tender. "I'm different, huh?" she asked, almost as if she wanted to hear more.

Roy nodded, his gaze soft. "Yeah. You're not like anyone I've ever met. You see things in a way that... well, it's kind of interesting and funny."

Lisa  felt her heart skip a beat at the sincerity in his tone. "You're not the first person who's ever said that to me, but the way you say it—with your voice, words, makes my heart flutter." she said quietly, her voice barely above a whisper.

Roy smile turned a bit more mischievous, but it didn't hide the warmth in his eyes. "Well, maybe I'm the first one who's actually interesting enough" He paused for a moment, studying her face. "So, what do you think? Can I get a second chance at a real date? Without the distractions this time?"

Lisa raised an eyebrow, intrigued by the question. "A real date, huh? What's that supposed to look like?"

Roy leaned in just slightly, his lips curling into a smile. "Well, I was thinking it might look a lot like this," he said, his eyes glinting with mischief. "Maybe just... a little bit closer."

Before she could respond, Roy closed the distance between them, his lips brushing against hers in a soft, sweet kiss. It was slow and tender, filled with a warmth that neither had expected, but both had wanted.

When they pulled back, both of them were breathless, smiles spreading across their faces. Roy whispered, "I have another reputation to uphold."

Lisa "What" she said quietly, her voice barely above a whisper.

Roy "That I am a damn good kisser."

Before she could respond, Roy closed the distance between them .This time, when our lips meet, the kiss is intense.

Lisa's heart fluttered, her eyes meeting his. "Yes, that was a good kiss," she said with a quiet laugh.

Roy grinned. "So, what's next for us, huh?"

Lisa raised an eyebrow, still feeling the lingering warmth of the kiss. "Next? I think we keep making memories like this one."

CENTRAL PERK. ROSS, RACHEL, AND PHOEBE ARE THERE. ROSS HAS AN ICEPACK TO HIS HEAD.

Rachel: (concerned) Oh, are you sure you're okay?

Ross: Yeah, I'm fine.

Rachel: Does it still hurt?

Ross: (grimaces) Yeah... a little.

Phoebe: (noticing Rachel's clothes) What a neat idea. All your clothes match. I'm gonna do this.

(MONICA AND JOEY ENTER.)

Monica: Hi, guys.

Phoebe: (enthusiastically) Hey, how'd it go?

Joey: Excellent.

Monica: We ripped that couple apart, and kept the pieces for ourselves.

Ross: (sarcastically) What a beautiful story. Hey, I'm fine, by the way.

Monica: (noticing Ross's icepack) Oh, I'm sorry.

Rachel: Where's Chandler?

Phoebe: Oh, he needed some time to grieve.

(CHANDLER RUNS BY THE WINDOW OUTSIDE, JOYOUS.)

Chandler: (yelling) I'm free! I'm free!

Phoebe: (laughing) That oughta do it.

(Roy enters Central Perk, casually walking in with a relaxed smile, looking like he just came from a date. The group notices and looks at him.)

Rachel: (playfully) Roy! You look... like someone just had a good time.

Roy: (grinning, nonchalant) Oh, I did. It was great, actually.

Monica: (teasing) Ooh, what happened? You're glowing. Was it that good?

Roy: (shrugs) Well, you know. Just a little coffee, some great conversation, and... the usual.

Joey: (leaning in) "My man, so who is she?"

Roy: (grinning, giving a shrug) Her name's Lisa. She's an artist. Really talented. We spent the day just chatting and... seeing where things went. You know, nothing too serious.

Phoebe: (raising an eyebrow) Artist, huh? Was it one of those "I see beauty in everything" kind of dates? Did she sketch you while you were eating?

Roy: (laughs) No, no sketches. But she does have this way of seeing things differently. Kinda... refreshing, honestly.

Rachel: (smiling) Sounds like you had a good time.

Monica: (smiling knowingly) Uh-huh. So, are you gonna see her again?

Roy: (mysteriously) Maybe. We'll see where things go.

A/N: "This is my first time writing a romantic scene, and I would appreciate any tips you have."
