Chapter 21: Trial by Relic
"In a world where truth is sealed, only the forgotten dare speak."
Scene 1: Duel Under Divine Law
The amphitheater of the Vault of Stars is filled with whispers. Sol Veylor stands across from Ren, golden eyes burning like twin suns.
"One strike. No death. Winner claims the relic of choice."
Sol Veylor – The Dawnbound Prodigy
Title: Heir of Light's Reckoning
Weapon: 🔆 Solar Dissonance (Divine-Class Spear)
Powers:
Solar Singularity – Creates a collapsing sun that burns through all divine energy.
Light Reversal – Bends holy light into corrupted darkflame.
Heir's Refrain – Can undo one moment of time per battle. Once per day.
His aura alone scorches the field.
Scene 2: Codex Nullum — Chain Three Awakens
As Ren grips Nullfang, his Codex pulses.
Unlocked:
Chain Three – Lexicon Breaker
Ability: Ren can now "unwrite" parts of an enemy's existence. The more he understands their origin or belief, the more damage he can do—not to their body, but their legend.
"You're not just fighting flesh, Sol. You're fighting who you think you are."
The clash begins. Solar flames vs. the black pages of oblivion.
Scene 3: The Library of Forgotten Tomes
Meanwhile, Naelith descends into the library's forbidden lowest floor:
The Chamber of Rooted Thought.
She's searching for an erased book:
"Null Divinity: The Heresy of Memory"
Inside is the truth of the First Null's original name… and the cost of remembering it.
But someone's already there.
A girl. Pale hair. Eyes like broken moons. She speaks:
"I am the one they erased first. I am your anchor."
Lore Drop: The First Null's Curse
The Codex reveals a hidden entry:
"To be Null is not to be void. It is to hold all truths… and choose none. That is what breaks the gods."
End Scene: The Trial's Aftermath
Ren barely wins. But instead of claiming a relic…
He points at Sol and says:
"You're not my enemy.
Not yet."
Sol scowls, but lowers his spear.
"Then don't make me regret it."
But as Ren leaves, he hears Naelith scream from beneath the Library.
