Tipping backwards, Jayhan was shocked to see multiple other skeleton monsters crawling out of the ground.
He was lucky enough to survive the first attack they launched, but now it only looked like he leaped out of a frying pan into a fire.
[You are currently being surrounded by multiple skeleton monsters.]

[Chances of survival have reduced drastically.]
Seeing the alerts, Jayhan turned around, his eyes scanning every building.
To his surprise, monsters seemed to have surrounded the whole place, mainly the skeleton monsters.
'Dammit!'
He didn't waste any time. Jayhan grabbed Kara by the hand and ran into the dark alleyway.
Almost immediately, the skeleton monsters charged after him like hungry lions. They leaped from one building to the other, crawling on walls and leaping multiple feet in the air.
{Jayhan's stamina has dropped to 60%}
"Babe, over there…"
Kara pointed to the nearest building; it was a small garage where cars were kept.
The perfect place to lay low for a while.
"Perfect! Keep running!"
Jayhan suddenly stopped, turning around while holding the hammer Kara had given him beforehand.
Normally, Kara would most likely have stayed and fought with him, but she understood why Jayhan told her to go first.
The door to the garage was locked; if she could break it open while he bought time, they could both escape without any casualties.
Thus, she charged forward as fast as she could.
Jayhan, on the other hand, was more than ready to fight for his life.
As one skeleton monster charged towards him, closing the gap, Jayhan found himself reacting faster than he had ever done before.
Krrik!
He slammed the hammer on the skeleton's head, shattering it and bringing it to the ground.
[You have killed a Skeleton Warrior.]
[You have gained 100 coins.]
At the same time, the skeleton exploded and turned into a red gem.
[Other skeletons are angered at your action.]
[You are now a target.]
'This can't get any worse…'
Jayhan stole a glance behind him, and he could see that Kara was still trying to break the lock to the garage.
'I just need to buy more time.'
From nowhere, a skeleton speared him to the ground, his back slamming on the hard surface.
Since he was still injured, the pain was twice as much.
{Jayhan is currently in immense pain.}
Kara moved hastily, using a stone she had found on the ground to slam against the padlock.
Still on the ground, Jayhan shoved his hammer into the mouth of the skeleton, trying to stop it from biting him.
And while he was worried about that, other skeletons were closing in on him.
It didn't take long for the rest of the monsters to corner him.
Some grabbed his legs, and others his hand; it was obvious they wanted to rip him apart like a doll.
Suddenly—
Pa!
The sound of a gun echoed throughout the dark streets.
And with that gunshot came the death of the skeleton on top of Jayhan, its body exploding and leaving behind a red gem that was perfectly placed on Jayhan's chest.
Before Jayhan could understand what was happening, another gunshot rippled through the air, and yet another skeleton died.
Looking to the side, Jayhan saw Kara, moving slowly towards him while aiming a pistol at the Skeleton Warriors and firing.
{You have killed a skeleton.}
{You have killed a skeleton.}
And it wasn't just that; she also seemed to have unlocked the door to the garage.
Jayhan had never felt more relieved to see her.
With most of the skeletons already dead and Kara's bullets running out, Jayhan leaped up from the ground as fast as he could and made a run for it, towards the garage with Kara following right beside him.
Eventually, they made it inside the garage with the skeletons trailing behind them.
Once they were inside the garage, Jayhan pulled down the metal door and used a wrench to block it from opening.
Even as they were inside, the sound of the Skeleton Warriors slamming against it echoed.
"We should be safe for now…"
Jayhan said as he sat down on the ground, trying to catch his breath.
Kara, on the other hand, remained standing.
{Danger level is 60%}
{The building is being surrounded by skeleton monsters.}
"I don't think we are out of the water yet. We shouldn't stay long in this place," said Kara before walking over to the side of the room, where she switched on the light.
The moment the light came on, Jayhan squinted his eyes a bit.
The garage looked even smaller on the inside, with barely anything in it.
At the side of the walls were shelves with different working tools and blueprints, with a single bike that looked to be decades old.
Before Kara could say anything else, a system notification popped up before her.
{You have saved Jayhan from the Skeleton Warriors.}
{The system has deemed you worthy of a blessing.}
{The unique blessing Mother of Protection and Offense has been obtained.}
{You have gained multiple skills under this blessing.}
Being a gamer, Kara quickly understood what was happening.
"Jayhan, I think I got new skills…" she said out loud.
Jayhan, exhausted, still managed to raise his head to look at her.

Jayhan's jaw dropped.
'Why the hell does she have so many high-level skills?' Jayhan thought to himself while staring at the character profile.
For some reason, Kara had a smug look on her face after seeing Jayhan's expression.
It was the same look he always made anytime she pulled a better gacha character than him.
"Ohhh? Are you impressed, my love?" she grinned mischievously.
