Marcus's POV,
It's been a few minutes since either of them has spoken. They are too dead silent for my liking.
"Mom, Dad?" I called them, trying to get at least one word out of them.
"You mate MAYBE a rogue, you say," Mom said, and I just nodded. "Yes, she MAYBE be a rogue."
"Why do you think that?" Dad asked. Both of them were looking at me, and I could feel Shadow ready to take over if my parents asked me to reject her. I just know that he won't take it lightly.
"Because I got her scent when I was patrolling, and I think she ran away the moment she got mine. I am telling you guys, it's the most addicting scent I have ever smelled" My voice turned a little dreamy by the end of the sentence.
"She may be a rogue. So, what you are telling us is that our future Luna might be a rogue?!" Mom asked. There was restraint in her voice, like she was holding herself back.
I was scared of her reaction, but nevertheless, I answered her.
"Yes, she might be a rogue. I am not sure yet."
"What's there to be sure?! You got her scent while you were patrolling! She ran away as soon as she got your scent! Our pack is known for hating rogues, and since she's a rogue, she might also be an alph.a"
"Her scent didn't feel like alpha..." I said, thinking back to my mate's scent.
My father let out a humorless laugh. "Of course she's an alpha! No omega can survive in the wild; it's hard enough for them in some packs, and you think they will survive there? With the heat and ruts and everything? Don't be foolish, Marcus."
"All I care about is they better not ask us to reject her, or else I am taking over." Shadow was high on his guards, and I can't blame him, after all, we know our parents on the topic of rogues.
"Calm down, Shadow. They are parents, we don't want to hurt them."
"I know they are parents, but that's our mate! And she did not feel like an alpha, my instincts are telling me that she's not an alpha, and if she's an omega as a rogue, then there is no way in hell that I am going to let them do whatever they want. I don't care if they are our parents, Marcus."
"What if she's an alpha?"
"She's not alpha. She's an omega, I can feel it. My instincts say that she's an omega, so she is"
"Marcus, if your mate is a rogue, then you-" I cut off my mom. "I wouldn't complete that sentence if I were you, Mom."
She frowned deeply. "What do you mean?"
"Shadow will not sit easy if you say what you were planning to say."
"Why?! She's a rogue!" Mom protested.
"Because she's my mate! She's our mate! She's mine and Shadow's mate!" I burst out, and it took my parents back because they looked surprised.
"Good job supporting our mate because if you hadn't, then I would have asked the moon goddess for your replacement," Shadow said proudly, and I almost huffed loudly.
"Marcus-" I cut off Dad. "Think how you and your wolf would have reacted if your parents had asked you to reject Mom because she was from another pack" and again, silence, I was met with silence.
"I will be going back to my pack duties," I bowed and went back to patrolling, hoping that I would get another scent of her.
