Chapter 4 - chapter-4 Just another mission

POV: Vanie.

I finally wake up after landing on a planet, my spaceship releasing me from sleep after I arrived to complete my mission. I had a simple task, the same as always: invade and get rid of all intelligent life on a planet so we can sell it, something done long before King Cold dominated the Saiyans and passed the dominion of our race to him, a ridiculously arrogant, overdeveloped lizard.

I look around, analyzing the planet: a purple sky with vegetation of a vivid green color and several mountain ranges.

"This place is beautiful, a shame it's going to be wiped out."

The race that lived here resembled us Saiyans, but instead of tails, they had four arms. Their power level was all lower than mine, which is 3,400. So, easily, like a war machine, I annihilated each one of them, exploding cities for the same reason as always: money.

"Another easy mission, from what I see."

Since the day my husband Zadin died, I threw myself into work, going from planet to planet on solo missions, even taking on missions from other Saiyans, like Bardock, who willingly gave me one of his to spend more time with his family. The superiors didn't care about this because of my efficiency. I was simply a machine living without wanting to remember that he was gone.

But when I arrived at the last place with intelligent life, a more isolated futuristic scientific base that contrasted with the beautiful view of nature around it, far from the cities and any settlement of the race that lived there, I didn't give a damn and simply raised my hand towards the base, my target visible between my fingers, and launched an attack.

"Something's wrong with this, it was too easy."

But a feeling of unease washed over me. I didn't know why. There was no more intelligent life here, and all the animals were too weak to pose any danger, so I'll leave the area, but before I can.

whoosh~~

I hear something flying towards me at high speed, hitting me with an attack using two of its hands like a hammer, throwing me directly to the ground. I, still inside the crater, look at my attacker who is still floating in the place where I was before he hit me. A machine similar to the members of this planet's race doesn't give me time to rest and descends towards me at high speed.

I get up and quickly dodge, jumping away, but it easily follows me and continues trying to hit me. I can barely see its attacks, but my experience allows me to fight back. So, with a strong kick to its chest, I send it flying away, giving myself a little time to breathe.

"How can a machine be so strong when a high-class Saiyan like me...?"

shuu~~

'This guy is tough,' it only has a slight dent in its chest after my kick. It analyzes me after a few seconds and launches itself at me again, flying at high speed. While it comes, I launch several energy blasts at it to slow it down, but it's no use, as it still reaches me quickly, giving me a punch with one of its four arms aiming at my rib, which I dodge and counterattack with my own punch, where, upon connecting my fist with its face, it grabs my arm.

I try to break free by punching with my other arm, but it also holds it after I hit it.

"DAMN IT, LET GO OF ME!"

Before I can do anything else to break free, it starts giving me several punches with its two free arms. A blow to my left shoulder also hit my nose, breaking it, and now it felt like a pool of blood. As it hits me repeatedly, I remember my son who has been in the incubator for almost two years, almost the time for him to come out.

Imagining the only thing left of my husband dying on a mission because I wasn't there to train him enraged me with a war cry. I propel the robot away with both legs. In the meantime, I use the technique my husband taught me to be used in desperate moments like this. A power ball is formed in my hand, and I launch it into the sky.

GHRUAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA~~

"NOW YOU WILL KNOW THE TRUE POWER OF THE SAIYANS, VERMIN!"

Before my enemy can return, I look at the point of light in the sky, feeling the Blutz Waves enter my eyes and travel to my tail, unleashing an enormous rage that makes my blood boil. My heart feels like a drum in my chest, my bones expand and break while, through pain and rage, I lose my reason. My vision turns red, and that's where i lost my consciousness.

My whole body aches, and it's hard to move, but I can feel a familiar warmth surrounding me, from the Frieza Army's healing machine. When I open my eyes, what I see confirms my suspicion: I really am recovering here, but when I think this, it's not with the relief of someone who survived a difficult mission, but rather of someone who almost ruined everything, almost messed everything up.

Memories of the last mission flood my mind until something interrupts my thoughts: an alien responsible for the medical wing looks at me inside the healing machine and says.

"Miss Vanie, your serious injuries have already been healed. I recommend you vacate the healing device for other patients in more serious condition." Then he presses a sequence of buttons on the side of the machine, and all the liquid drains from inside, the glass opening to allow me out.

The alien has a reptilian appearance, like a Komodo dragon with a medical coat. I look into his slit eyes and ask, "Where is my armor?"

"It was destroyed during combat, so we prepared a new one in that locker." He points to a locker. I nod in understanding.

I take my armor and put it on, then walk towards the exit of the medical wing. As I leave, the alien says, "Have a good day, Miss Vanie." I ignore him and head to where my son is. I want to take a look at him.

When I arrive, I see him in the incubator for Saiyan children with a high power level who in the future can become elite warriors. His hair reminds me of his father's, a spiky mane pointing upwards with a single strand of hair falling over his eyes. His calm face as he sleeps tells me that I need to protect him until he becomes strong enough to do it himself. And then, after watching him for a while, I go back home because I have to prepare everything for my little boy's training.

I wanted to let you know that I'm not writing this fanfic expecting it to become super popular or anything. What I really want is for the readers who enjoy it to stick with me until the story concludes, or until I decide to call it quits (fingers crossed that won't happen!). Also, a little disclaimer: my free time is limited because of university and some side jobs, so daily updates aren't guaranteed. I am putting in my best effort, though. Thank you so much for joining me on this journey!

The appearance of the MC when he starts training: right now he has a child's body with chubby arms.
