Chapter 25 - Ch-24

Seokdu Wang was not a weak king.

His headbutt was infamous across the Suwon region, and his durability was second to none. He'd defeated countless foes, forcing many to kneel under his reign.

That's what fueled his confidence.

That's why, when he heard of the King of Ansan, he thought it was only natural to bring him under his dominion too.

That is, until he met the guy.

Standing at an imposing six foot three, Taesoo Ma had a presence that demanded respect. His aura was suffocating, and even Seokdu's men were visibly shaken. As the King of Suwon, Seokdu couldn't allow his subordinates to fear another man.

They stood on a weathered football field. The grass was sparse, dry, and the earth beneath felt brittle, as if the ground itself was cracking under pressure.

Seokdu spoke first, his voice booming, "I'll give you a chance to forfeit, Taesoo."

But the King of Ansan didn't even blink.

Raising his fist toward the sky, he declared calmly, "Whoever you are—come."

Seokdu didn't need another word.

The moment the challenge was accepted, he charged forward, closing the distance between them in seconds.

Taesoo stood still, his left hand in his pocket, seemingly unbothered.

As Seokdu reached him, he bent his body back and launched his signature headbutt.

.

.

.

Taesoo Ma had changed.

After his fight with Gongseob Ji, he realized something critical—and had been training in secret since.

Clearly, Seokdu had interrupted that training, and Taesoo wasn't pleased.

As the incoming forehead rushed toward him, Taesoo reacted instantly. His right fist slammed forward, colliding directly with Seokdu's skull.

BOOM.

Seokdu Wang flew back, crashing into the ground beside his followers.

Taesoo stood, unfazed, calmly watching the Suwon King rise again.

If, in the past, they would've been equally matched—

Now? Things were different.

Taesoo was stronger. And he knew it.

"That was strong," Seokdu muttered, shaking his head. "Out of everyone I've fought—you're the strongest, Taesoo."

But he wasn't done yet. Seokdu charged again, fists clenched, eyes wild.

Taesoo could've struck first, but he waited—curious. What would this man try next?

Seokdu seized the moment. Grappling Taesoo, he twisted his body and launched another brutal headbutt.

The crew on both sides watched in shock as Seokdu's forehead crashed into Taesoo's guard—

Crack.

BOOM.

Taesoo's legs sank deep into the dirt, embedding into the football field up to his knees.

He glanced at his left hand.

It was broken.

Pain followed. His arm throbbed like molten iron, completely unusable.

Even against Apollo, he hadn't broken a limb.

Seokdu readied for another attack.

Taesoo's eyes narrowed.

'This guy is dangerous.'

With swift precision, Taesoo's right hand smashed into Seokdu's knee.

BOOM.

"AHHH!" Seokdu screamed as his leg twisted in the opposite direction, the knee caving in grotesquely.

Taesoo exhaled, steadying himself.

He didn't like fighting like this.

But he remembered Apollo's words—

"Taesoo… I know you love to fight like a man—honorably, fiercely," Apollo had said, sipping Coke. "But the world is cruel. Let your beliefs give you strength, sure. But when the chance comes—take it. Fighting savagely is also what a man does."

Taesoo remembered it well.

'Fighting savagely is the most primal instinct of a man.'

Looking at Seokdu's shattered knee, Taesoo felt a brief pang of guilt—but shook it off.

He pulled himself free from the ground.

"I don't normally say this," he said, voice flat, "but you can go. I'm no longer interested in fighting you."

His excitement was gone.

But Seokdu wasn't done. His body protested with every movement, yet he charged one last time, leaping into the air for another headbutt.

And then—

Silence.

He didn't even know what hit him.

Taesoo's punch connected mid-air, sending Seokdu into a peaceful sleep.

He turned to Seokdu's men.

"Take your leader to the hospital."

Then, without another word, he walked toward his own group.

Clap.

Clap.

Clap.

The members of Taesoo's crew erupted in applause, tears glimmering in their eyes.

Their King was victorious, and he hadn't just won—he'd dominated.

Taesoo Ma had their absolute loyalty.

His presence gave them strength.

His fists gave them courage.

The legend of the King of Ansan had begun to spread.

Meanwhile, with Apollo...

"Where's the metro station, Apollo?" Gongseob muttered, panting as he kept pace.

All three of them—Apollo, Jichang, and Gongseob—raced down the sidewalk, little more than blurs to passersby.

"I think it's just up there," Jichang said, voice tight. "Keep moving… We'll make it."

His expression was serious.

Taesoo was his friend—and he wouldn't let anyone harm him.

Vroom.

Vroom.

Suddenly, a loud engine roared behind them. A car was speeding their way, tires screeching against the road.

Apollo's eyes widened.

He knew exactly who was coming.

A king was on his way....
