"The situation is bad…"
Moss sensed the aura coming from the direction of the rose-colored star.
Though she hadn't seen their true forms, she could sense one particular aura imbued with Holy Power—very similar to her own as Angewomon. It had to be HolyAngewomon.
But that aura was now so weak—it flickered like a candle in the wind!
Koji Minamoto asked, "What's wrong?"
Moss pointed toward the rose-colored star. "HolyAngewomon seems to be in critical condition."
At her words, Kari Kamiya, Takuya Kanbara, Koji Minamoto, Zoe Orimoto, Tomoki Himi, Junpei Shibayama, Bokomon, Neemon, and the Digimon on Wandering Island were all stunned.
"HolyAngewomon…"
Takuya, panicked, turned to Onismon. "Can't we go any faster?"
Everyone looked to Onismon with hope.
He glanced at them and shook his head. "This is the fastest speed Wandering Island can go."
Everyone groaned with frustration.
"Then let's speed it up ourselves." Moss raised her hand, releasing a surge of magical energy.
Rabbit Talisman!
The immense magical energy spread across the entire island like flowing mercury.
"What powerful magic…" Onismon's eyes sparkled in shock.
Ordinary Angewomon couldn't do this, but Moss was no ordinary one—she had forced even him to reform. Her power made sense.
Wandering Island was over 10 kilometers wide, yet Moss's magic still covered it completely.
The next moment—Speed Magic activated!
The island shot across the sky like a comet.
…
Beneath the rose-colored star, among the ruins of Cherubimon's castle—
"Cherubimon, you've recovered?"
HolyAngewomon stared in astonishment and joy as Cherubimon blocked Dynasmon's Dragon's Breath.
She recalled the old days—
When the Three Great Angels governed the Digital World together, and peace flourished.
But it didn't last. Cherubimon turned dark—body and soul. Seraphimon and HolyAngewomon were sealed away, and the Digital World plunged into ruin…
Even though she had been imprisoned, she had always held onto one hope—that Cherubimon might one day return to his true, kind self.
Was this the moment?
Was the kind, white Cherubimon back at last?
…But no.
He was still black.
"Don't misunderstand, HolyAngewomon," Cherubimon said coldly—or maybe he was just hiding his heart. "Lucemon is about to return. Only the Ten Warriors can defeat him."
As he spoke, a small statue floated toward HolyAngewomon.
It was the Beast Spirit of Darkness.
In the ancient past, each Spirit of the Ten Warriors had both a Human and Beast form. The Beast Spirits were stronger—but harder to control.
Because of that, Cherubimon had never given the Beast Spirit of Darkness to Darkmon.
"I'm entrusting it to you… HolyAngewomon…" he said, and in that instant, his body briefly turned white—just for a second.
The kind Cherubimon had returned.
Then, he was obliterated by Dynasmon's attack.
"Cherubimon!!" HolyAngewomon cried in anguish.
Why?
She had just escaped her prison. Her old friend had come back. Two things that should have brought joy—but all she felt was grief.
"…"
But Dynasmon didn't care about her emotions. He wordlessly grabbed Cherubimon's data, shaped it into a glowing orb, and hurled it into the abyss—feeding Lucemon.
The rest of Cherubimon's data turned into a Digi-Egg and floated away.
Nearby, Crusadermon had also defeated Black Seraphimon, extracted his data, and hurled it into the abyss.
"Let's get rid of the rest while we're at it," he said, eyeing SilverMirrormon's data.
But just then, a blue-green figure swooped in—Nanamon.
She carried SilverMirrormon's body and fled in haste.
Crusadermon didn't chase them. In fact, he admired the scene.
"Ah, to risk your life to save a comrade… That kind of courage is… yes, beautiful!"
What he admired wasn't beauty of appearance—but of spirit:
Courage, friendship, love, kinship.
"Lucemon only wants the data of the Three Great Angels. If we absorb Ten Warrior data, it might upset his digestion."
If Lucemon had indigestion, fine—but worse outcomes could be:
Data corruption, paralysis, devolution into Numemon or Sukamon…
Worst case? Instant Digi-Egg!
So Crusadermon let Nanamon and SilverMirrormon go and turned toward the last remaining Great Angel—HolyAngewomon.
She gripped the Beast Spirit of Darkness and struggled to her feet.
Crusadermon smirked. "You're going to resist me in that state?"
Dynasmon silently raised a hand, charging a dark energy blast.
Though she was weak, HolyAngewomon showed no fear. "Royal Knights… You're supposed to be righteous. Why are you helping Lucemon commit evil?"
Crusadermon replied, "Because Lucemon promised us what we desire."
"You fools! Lucemon lies!" she shouted.
Crusadermon hesitated.
Dynasmon said, "Don't think too much. Stay loyal. Finish our task, and Lucemon will reward us."
Crusadermon steadied himself.
HolyAngewomon said, "I don't know what you seek—but Lucemon won't keep his promises."
Still, Crusadermon was silent.
Seeing his hesitation, Dynasmon decided for him. He fired the dark energy blast.
"STOP!!"
A blinding beam shot down from the sky.
It didn't hit Dynasmon—it hit beneath HolyAngewomon, blasting her off her feet.
"AH!"
She was flung back, crashing on the edge of a cliff.
She was hurt—but alive, having avoided Dynasmon's deadly strike.
"Who's there?!"
Crusadermon looked toward the sky—and saw a floating island.
From it flew a massive white bird, glowing with holy light, wings spread wide.
"In the presence of Onismon—stand down!"
"Onismon?" HolyAngewomon struggled up. That name made her heart sink.
She, too, had survived since ancient times. She knew Onismon wasn't a good guy…
From one beast's maw into another's!
She looked toward him—then blinked in confusion. "Wait, weren't his feathers dark blue? Why are they white now?"
Onismon dove from the sky and attacked the Royal Knights.
They had just fought Black Seraphimon and Cherubimon—their strength was taxed.
Now against Onismon, they fell into a disadvantage.
But Onismon couldn't overpower them either—the fight stalemated.
BOOM! BOOM! BOOM!
Their clash filled the skies with sword beams, energy blasts, and holy light.
Back on Wandering Island, Takuya and the others readied their D-Tectors, preparing to evolve into the Ten Warriors.
Moss stopped them. "Wait. Those are Royal Knights. They're incredibly strong—way beyond your current level."
"But—" Takuya protested.
Koji nodded. "Moss is right. We'd be slaughtered out there. Takuya, you do see the difference in power, don't you?"
The others watched the battle—stunned.
This level of fighting surpassed anything they'd ever experienced.
As warrior-spirit users who became Digimon themselves, they had a clearer sense of power gaps than anyone.
"Damn it! We finally made it here—are we really useless?" Takuya growled.
Everyone hung their heads.
Even Koji clenched his fists in frustration.
Silence. A heavy atmosphere.
"Everyone, look over here."
Moss raised a finger. Data energy flared at her fingertip like a small flame.
"What's that?" they asked.
Kari said, "A Digi-Soul."
Moss smiled. "Kari, why don't you teach them?"
"Okay!" Kari was happy to be useful. She held up her hand, igniting her own Digi-Soul—a white flame.
"Whoa! Is that… psychic power?" the others exclaimed.
They were used to powers coming after evolving. But Kari could do this as a human—like something out of a cartoon.
Moss explained, "A Digi-Soul is power born from resonance between human and Digimon consciousness. It can strengthen and evolve your partner."
Takuya scratched his head. "But we don't have partner Digimon."
Moss shook her head. "You don't have physical partners—but your Spirit Totems aren't just transformation tools."
"!" They all looked at their D-Tectors.
On the screen, their warrior forms appeared—Agnimon, Wolfmon, Fairymon, Chakmon, Beetlemon…
Moss said, "When you fight as Digimon, you still use your human senses. From now on—you need to fight using Digimon senses."
She paused and added:
"Remember—you are the Ten Warriors. You are both human and Digimon."
At her words, Takuya, Koji, and the others fell into deep thought.
Moss said no more, flying off the island and gently landing beside HolyAngewomon.
"…"
