"Angewomon?"
The Holy Angewomon was stunned at the sight of the newcomer.
Of course she recognized Angewomon—she herself had been one many years ago.
That's why she was so familiar with Angewomon. The moment she saw this one—Moss—she realized this Angewomon was unique.
"Holy Bubble!"
Without another word, Moss cast her skill, letting a rainbow-colored light bathe Holy Angewomon and heal her wounds.
Though she looked battered, Holy Angewomon's injuries were mostly superficial. With the healing, she stood up quickly and said, "Thank you."
Moss noted that Holy Angewomon was even taller than the typical Gatomon-evolved Angewomon.
She thought to herself, "Even though I'm 1.8 meters tall in heels, I'm still short among Angewomon."
"Your Holy Bubble is superb!" Holy Angewomon praised.
The same skill used by different people could produce vastly different results. Back when she was still an Angewomon, her Holy Bubble wasn't even half as effective.
From this, she concluded, "She must specialize in healing abilities."
Moss smiled and pointed up at the floating Wavering Island. "Let's go rest up there."
Holy Angewomon nodded and followed her up to the island, where they found Takuya Kanbara, Koji Minamoto, and the others.
"Children? Why are you all here…?"
Holy Angewomon was clearly surprised—she had told them not to come.
Why did they all disobey her? Was it just rebellion?
Moss raised a finger to her lips and gestured for silence. "Shh, don't disturb them—they're training."
"Training?" Holy Angewomon looked closely and noticed the unusual formation.
Takuya Kanbara, Koji Minamoto, Izumi, Tomoki, and Junpei all had their left hands gripping their D-Tectors and their right hands touching a young girl's palm.
That girl was Kari Kamiya, her hands burning with the flame of DigiSoul.
"That energy is…" Holy Angewomon asked, puzzled.
"It's the Digisoul," Moss explained. "The power born from human resonance with Digimon... from another dimension's Digital World."
Hearing "another dimension" made everything click for Holy Angewomon, and she exclaimed, "Humans have this kind of power?!"
Suddenly, a cry rang out in the distance: "Lord Onismon!"
It came from the Digimon who lived on Wavering Island, like Dragonmon and Grizzlymon, reacting to the injured Onismon.
Holy Angewomon turned to the source of the noise and saw the huge white bird below. "Is that really Onismon?"
In her memory, Onismon was known as the "Tyrant of the Sky"—a brute who abused his strength and flight for tyranny.
"I purified Onismon's heart," Moss replied.
"What?" Holy Angewomon looked at her in astonishment.
So she can heal and purify? Incredible.
While she was impressed, her thoughts quickly turned to whether Onismon could defeat the Royal Knights Dynasmon and Crusadermon.
Though Onismon was stronger physically, combat wasn't just about brute force. Speed, reaction, and tactics mattered too.
Dynasmon and Crusadermon, battle-hardened veterans, had no intention of clashing head-on. They kept their distance, conserving energy while analyzing Onismon's attack patterns.
Now that Onismon was wounded, it was clear the Knights had figured him out. Their counterattack had begun!
"This is bad!" Holy Angewomon gasped.
Then, from behind them, a voice called out: "Leave it to us!"
Moss and Holy Angewomon turned to see it was Takuya Kanbara, flanked by Koji, Izumi, Tomoki, and Junpei, all smiling with newfound resolve.
"Kids…" Holy Angewomon started, but couldn't finish her sentence.
Moss asked, "You've gained enlightenment?"
"Yeah!"
In the original story, Takuya and the others had once failed to defeat a DarkDigimon in the Dark Area, leading to their defeat. But now, in this alternate chance, they had unlocked the synergy between nature and the power of Digisoul.
Each of them was a child of nature. In the right environment, they could unleash immense power.
Moss brought her hands together like a saint in prayer, blessing them: "Go with courage and strength."
"Thanks," Takuya said, raising his D-Tector. "Let's go, everyone!"
The others followed suit.
"Spirit Evolution!"
...
"A brute with only strength is full of weaknesses!"
Crusadermon signaled Dynasmon to distract Onismon while she zoomed in, punching with her golden arm spike—her finisher, "Desperado Fear."
But suddenly, five silhouettes dropped from the sky.
"Onismon, we've got your back!"
It was Agunimon, Lobomon, Kazemon, Kumamon, and Beetlemon!
Each launched their ultimate moves:
"Burning Salamander!"
"Luster Purge!"
"Tornado Gyration!"
"Snowball Cannon!"
"Thunder Slash!"
The combined attack hit the ground and left a massive crater—deep and dangerous.
Crusadermon had dodged, but barely.
Meanwhile, the Evil Four—DarkKnightmon, Mercurymon, Ranamon, and Arbormon—witnessed it all from afar.
"Whoa! When did those kids get so strong?" Ranamon flailed in surprise.
"They've combined their attacks," Mercurymon explained with a grin. "This is the bond of the Ten Warriors."
DarkKnightmon took a step forward.
"What are you doing?" Ranamon asked.
Arbormon, ever cryptic, murmured, "Five plus one is six."
"…What does that mean?" Ranamon blinked.
Mercurymon chuckled. "You want to strengthen the bond of the Ten Warriors?"
DarkKnightmon nodded. "To avenge Lord Cherubimon, it's the only way. We can't beat the Royal Knights otherwise."
"Then let's go together," Mercurymon said.
"You serious?" Ranamon gawked.
"We have no choice," Mercurymon said. "We must stop Lucemon's resurrection."
Ranamon grit her teeth. "Fine! I want that pink girl to taste my wrath!"
Arbormon added, "Five plus four is nine."
The four of them dashed into battle.
The Knights switched targets: Crusadermon focused on Onismon, Dynasmon charged the kids.
"Dragon Roar!"
Dynasmon's elemental attack aligned perfectly to counter Agunimon—it was fire versus fire.
But—
"Mirror Shield!"
A round, mirrored shield appeared, swallowing the fireball and firing it back.
Boom boom boom!
Dynasmon was engulfed in his own attack.
Agunimon recognized the attacker. "You!"
"It's just a truce for today," Mercurymon smiled. "Without unity, you can't defeat the Royal Knights."
Agunimon clenched his fists.
"ROAR!"
From the dust, Dynasmon emerged, not dead, but furious, unleashing his "Dragon's Breath"—a monstrous energy shaped like a dragon.
Agunimon swallowed his anger. "Fine—one fight at a time."
All ten warriors, now nine present, launched their finishers—
"Burning Salamander!"
"Luster Purge!"
"Tornado Gyration!"
"Snowball Cannon!"
"Thunder Slash!"
"Sword of Conquest!"
"Shield of Rejection!"
"Acid Rain of Envy!"
"Gun Ballet!"
Nine powers fused into a rainbow beam, destroying Dynasmon's dragon form and smashing into his body.
Boom!
He screamed and was thrown a hundred meters back.
"Dynasmon!" Crusadermon gasped.
Distracted, she didn't see Onismon unleash his laser blast point-blank.
Boom!
Crusadermon joined Dynasmon in the dirt.
The two were heavily injured.
"Pity," Mercurymon mused. "If the Earth Warrior were here, we'd be even stronger."
But the Earth Spirit had long been absorbed. Its human and beast spirits were now held by Agunimon and Beetlemon, respectively.
"Give me the Earth Spirits," Mercurymon said. "I can use a special method to channel that power."
"No need," Agunimon replied. "Another combined strike will finish this."
Mercurymon pouted.
Onismon chimed in: "Quit bickering. I'll do it."
Seeing the bickering, Crusadermon felt despair. How had it come to this?
Dynasmon said nothing, trying to gather strength to escape with Crusadermon.
Thud!
The ground quaked.
Cracks spread like webs. Blinding light poured from the fissures. The dark area shattered into floating islands above a sea of bottomless black.
"What?!"
The Knights looked skyward.
A golden-haired boy hovered there, delicate features, robed in white, with six angelic wings, radiating divine light.
Exquisite. Ethereal.
"He's…"
Everyone froze.
Even Holy Angewomon whispered in disbelief, "Impossible… He hasn't absorbed my data. How is he free?"
Moss was surprised to see Lucemon escape early—but only slightly. She showed no fear, unlike the others.
"What data does he have?" she asked.
"Cherubimon's data, and also Seraphimon and Cherubimon's," Holy Angewomon answered.
"Ah… same type and origin, which means the power boost let him break free," Moss mused.
"Exactly," Holy Angewomon sighed. "The three Great Angels' power originally came from him. It's easier for him to reclaim it."
"If the original power was 10 units," Moss asked, "how much did you develop it into?"
"About 100."
Ten given, one hundred grown.
"A 10:1 return…" Moss marveled.
No, that's not interest—that's a bet. If my theory works, I can do the same.
Meanwhile, the Knights were the only ones happy to see him.
"Lord Lucemon!" they cried.
"You useless trash," Lucemon growled, cold as ice.
"What?" both gasped.
Lucemon didn't care they were wounded. He hurled ten light spheres at them—
"Grand Cross!"
Boom!
A mushroom cloud exploded where they stood.
The shockwave rippled out, even forcing Wavering Island to back away.
When the dust cleared, a tall blond man emerged.
Handsome, but wicked.
Clad in black and white—holy angel and evil demon in one.
The Arrogant Demon Lord.
