In a dim office, the only light came from the faint rays of the setting sun.
A laptop rested on the desk, its screen casting a cold glow on Mark's sharp features as he leaned forward. The light made his silver eyes gleam like molten copper.
A brunette-haired Beta sat in a swirling chair, her polished look enhanced by the room's lighting and hidden cameras. She was the face of LaRosa's PR division, but even she had trouble keeping her tone casual.
"The whole of Blackmore was shocked," she began, her voice calm, "when the Red Diva turned out to be Skylar LaRosa—the first woman to dominate the tech world with the most advanced technology seen in years."
She smiled faintly, setting aside her paperwork, her fingers trembling ever so slightly.
