Chapter 25 - Chapter 020 A Farce

"Old Huang, what are you doing?" Uncle Li looked at Huang Jakuan, who had snatched the document, with a hint of bewilderment.

"Old Li, this is Second Master's family matter. We're outsiders; what you're doing is overstepping." Huang Jakuan glanced at the document in his hand and said, "For the sake of the tens of thousands of employees at PCW, I also hope Luowa can sign this transfer declaration."

Uncle Li let out a cold laugh, "Second Master just passed away, and you're already planning to betray him?"

Yi Luowa also looked at Huang Jakuan, her Uncle Huang—the man who had managed her Second Uncle's business for half a lifetime. At this moment, he chose to stand on Xi Meichen's side. This reminded her of Uncle Li's words: the Second Master's will had yet to be revealed, but Xi Meichen already knew its contents. Could the leaker be Uncle Huang?

"Since the day I followed Second Master, I've never thought about betraying him. What I'm saying today is entirely for his sake. Second Master worked tirelessly to build this empire; I must help him preserve it. Chairman Xi has managed the Yi Corporation for so many years, and her achievements are plain for all to see. She will take PCW to new heights."

Uncle Li snorted, "With Luowa here, PCW won't collapse either."

"Luowa is still just a child!"

"She's already nineteen!"

"You're a brute—I won't argue with you. Take a look at this!" Huang Jakuan pulled out a document from his briefcase. "This is a petition jointly signed by the board members, requesting that management rights of the company be transferred to Chairman Xi. Also, even if Luowa hands over PCW, Chairman Xi wouldn't mistreat her."

Uncle Li froze for a moment, rubbed his ear, and continued speaking, "I won't deny I'm a brute, but this petition signed by the board members only asks for the transfer of management rights to Xi Meichen. Why, then, are you pushing Luowa to sign documents transferring ownership of the company?"

"What difference does it make?" Huang Jakuan glared at Uncle Li, his voice dripping with anger. "Li Hua, you've never managed a company; there are many things you don't understand…"

"Oh, and you do?" Uncle Li leaned aggressively toward Huang Jakuan.

The two men, both in their fifties, appeared ready to come to blows. Luowa, anxious, slapped her wheelchair. She wanted to speak, but no matter how much she tried, she couldn't make a sound.

Suddenly, Uncle Li fell quiet and raised his hand to rub his ear again. "Call the board meeting immediately. Let's resolve this matter today so that certain people can stop coveting what doesn't belong to them!"

"Call a meeting now? How would that even work?" Huang Jakuan froze.

"You think I'm a brute, but you're the one with no brain! Use a video conference!" Uncle Li abruptly turned to Xi Meichen. "Let Ao Lie go now! Don't think you can push me around just because this is your territory. I've brought no fewer people than you. Ao Lie, get that video conference set up!"

Xi Meichen and Huang Jakuan exchanged glances. Seeing Huang Jakuan nod, Xi Meichen raised her hand, signaling her men to release Ao Lie.

Uncle Li leaned toward Ao Lie and whispered a few instructions. Ao Lie nodded, kicked open the room's door, and walked out. Uncle Li approached Luowa, gently patting her tightly clenched hand. "Since you can't speak, don't say anything at all. Uncle Li will fight to his last breath to protect everything that belongs to you."

Yi Luowa mouthed the words: "I originally didn't want to fight, but she's gone too far! She thinks I'm young and that she can steal everything that belongs to my Second Uncle and me while I'm at my weakest—she's dead wrong!"

"Good girl. Uncle Li always knew you weren't just smart but also tough."

Twenty minutes later, the video conference was held in the conference hall of the city hospital. Not only were Xi Meichen and Huang Jakuan shocked, but even Yi Luowa felt puzzled. Uncle Li's influence was truly astonishing—he had even managed to borrow a meeting room in such a short amount of time.

When the meeting began, Huang Jakuan was the first to speak. Many people nodded in agreement after hearing his explanation.

Xi Meichen seized the momentum, following as the second speaker. Her tearful speech conveyed her determination—a woman who had just lost her husband and family shed tears that seemed genuine, earning a wave of sympathy votes.

Yi Luowa listened calmly as everyone finished speaking. Her gaze, tinged with a faint smile, turned toward Uncle Li.

Uncle Li felt a chill from her smile. Could this girl have seen through something? But the situation had progressed to this point, and he couldn't afford to worry about that. He coughed lightly and produced the will Yi Weiyang had drafted years ago for everyone to see.

"This is Second Master's will written during his lifetime. Please examine it closely. His intention was to leave all his assets to Luowa, which naturally includes PCW. You are all long-time members of PCW. I may just be a brute who hasn't worked alongside you within the company, but we all know one another. Using certain people's words, I may be just a dog who stayed by Second Master's side, but this dog is loyal! I won't strike at his only relative—a nineteen-year-old child—while his body is still warm!"

Uncle Li suddenly slammed the table hard. "You can know a person's face but not their heart. Second Master may have been wise all his life, but even he had moments of misjudging people. Some people have come here today wearing masks of virtue to deceive everyone's emotions. I have no choice but to tear off their revolting façade! Now, let me play a recording for you all."

After speaking, Uncle Li gestured to Ao Lie, who was standing by his side. Ao Lie turned on the projector.

A voice played from the recording: "Mr. Huang, Yi Weiyang is dead. How are your arrangements coming along?"

"Chairman Xi, rest assured. With the network of relationships I've built over the years at PCW, arranging something like this is a walk in the park. More than half of the board has already agreed to let you manage PCW. But the promise you made to me…"

"You can rest assured, too. Once this is accomplished, you will become the second-largest shareholder of PCW. You've worked for Yi Weiyang for so many years; what he couldn't give you, I can. Open your computer—I've already drafted the contract. Once you sign, the moment PCW falls into my hands, this contract will take effect immediately."

The recording caused an uproar among the board members, chaos instantly engulfing the video conference.

"Li Hua, I underestimated you. Even spinning stories as wild as this—do you think anyone will believe it? I have never said such a thing!" Huang Jakuan was so furious he slammed the table three times in succession.

Yi Luowa watched him, amused, mouthing the words: "Cornered dog!"

Uncle Li shot to his feet, yelling at the top of his lungs, "Shameless old fool, do you want me to strip you down until you don't even have your underwear left? Ao Lie, keep playing!"

Ao Lie clicked the mouse, opening a folder that revealed the contract detailing the agreements discussed in the recorded conversation between Xi Meichen and Huang Jakuan.

The board members also stood up one by one. "So, Huang Jakuan, all this scheming wasn't for us or the employees—it was for yourself! If we follow his instructions, we're practically selling ourselves!"

"We're withdrawing our petition and will abide by Second Master's wishes!"

A younger board member stood up, saying, "Everyone, let me put it this way: Miss Yi is too young. If the company is handed over to her, the future will be concerning. Although Deputy Chairman Huang acted behind our backs to sign this contract, their dealings are in the upper echelons. Our interests remain unchanged, and employees will still receive their due."

"What a load of crap!" Uncle Li burst out swearing. "Luowa may be young, but someone is willing to support her unconditionally! Ao Lie, switch on the video feed of the gentleman immediately!"
