A few minutes earlier, when Loyd began his assault, Aaron defended against his opponent's attacks while recalling information about the Sternritter.
In fact, as soon as the Loyd brothers appeared at the academy, Aaron had already taken notice of their presence.
After all, identical twins with such distinct appearances were bound to stand out.
Loyd and Royd Lloyd, members of the Sternritter, held the designation "Y" for "Yourself," a reference to their unique abilities.
Although the two brothers possessed strikingly similar abilities, there were subtle differences between them.
Initially, Aaron was unclear about the exact nature of these differences.
However, when he killed Royd and absorbed half of his abilities, he instantly understood.
Royd's aspect of "Yourself" was more focused on replicating the target's memories and psychological state.
On the other hand, when Aaron confronted Loyd for the first time after slaying Royd, he deduced that Loyd's abilities were more combat-oriented.
In the world of the Shinigami, all battles ultimately come down to a clash of Reiatsu.
With his immense spiritual pressure, Aaron could have overwhelmed Loyd entirely and swiftly dispatched him with a decisive strike.
However, the unique abilities of the Loyd brothers intrigued him, prompting him to take a different approach.
At the start of the battle, he deliberately activated his Bankai to serve as a diversion.
His true goal was to capture Loyd's attention, using the opportunity to covertly employ "Kyōka Suigetsu" through his own "emulation" ability.
This strategy allowed Aaron to observe the intricacies of his opponent's abilities while remaining outside the illusion's influence.
What surprised him, however, was that Loyd managed to inherit the remaining portion of "Yourself" after Royd's death.
But now that his experiment was complete, Aaron had no reason to prolong the battle.
Loyd stared in disbelief at the blade that had pierced his chest. His eyes, filled with unwillingness, locked onto Aaron.
"Why…? You clearly—" he whispered weakly.
Aaron had no intention of answering. Without hesitation, he activated his imitative abilities, unleashing the combined powers of "Senbonzakura" and "Ryūjin Jakka."
As thousands of cherry blossoms danced through the air, a towering inferno erupted, consuming Loyd's body entirely. Within moments, nothing remained but a pile of ash.
As Aaron smoothly sheathed his Zanpakutō, a system prompt echoed in his mind.
"Ding! The system has detected a reward box nearby. Would you like to open it?"
"Open."
Following his command, a series of notifications rang out:
"Ding! Congratulations! You have obtained 45,000 Reiatsu!"
"Ding! Congratulations! You have acquired multiple Heilig Pfeil!"
"Ding! Congratulations! You have obtained 'Yourself' x0.5!"
Aaron could feel the surge of spiritual power coursing through his body. He opened the system interface to examine his updated stats.
After these two battles, he had not only acquired several Quincy abilities but had also successfully integrated "Yourself" into his own power set.
This was a significant gain.
Moreover, after absorbing the Reiatsu of both Loyd and Royd, his spiritual pressure had surpassed 900,000, bringing him within reach of a major breakthrough.
He had a strong premonition that once his Reiatsu exceeded one million, his Zanpakutō, "Gluttonous," would undergo another transformation.
What that transformation entailed, however, remained a mystery.
With everything settled, Aaron vanished in a blur, leaving only the ashes of his fallen foes to be carried away by the mountain winds.
Upon returning to his residence, he was met with an unsettling sight—the entrance to his home lay in ruins.
A sense of unease settled over him as his keen spiritual awareness picked up on something strange.
Yoruichi was still inside, but she was gravely injured.
Using Shunpo, Aaron flashed into the living room, where he found Yoruichi lying in a pool of her own blood.
Seeing this, he immediately knelt beside her, channeling his Reiatsu to release Kaidō and begin the healing process.
Gentle spiritual energy converged upon Yoruichi's wounds, mending them at a visible rate.
A faint white glow enveloped her body, pulsing rhythmically as it accelerated her recovery.
The pool of blood on the ground began to evaporate under the warmth of his Reiatsu, dispersing into faint red spiritual particles before vanishing completely.
While healing her, Aaron focused his spiritual perception outward, searching for the one responsible for the attack.
Moments later, he came to a grim realization.
The assailant was none other than Royd Lloyd.
Now, he could piece together what had transpired.
Royd had assumed his form and launched a surprise attack on Yoruichi while she was unguarded.
Aaron examined the deepest wound on her body and sighed softly.
She must have attempted to evade with Shunpo the moment she realized the attack, but she hadn't been fast enough.
Fortunately, she was no longer in danger.
A sudden violent cough broke his train of thought.
Yoruichi had awakened.
Her normally radiant honey-colored skin was slightly pale from blood loss.
Her lips quivered as if she wanted to speak, but no words came out.
Aaron understood the cause of this misfortune, and his gaze softened with guilt.
Regulating his Reiatsu, he ensured that the energy healing her remained as gentle as possible.
"Yoruichi, I'm sorry. I never intended for you to be dragged into this," he said softly.
She glanced at him before shaking her head slightly, turning away as though lost in thought.
Ten minutes later, her wounds were mostly healed, though the two consecutive battles had left her physically drained.
Aaron offered a small smile and nodded. After noticing the bloodstains on her clothes, he whispered, "Let's talk after you've changed. There are clean pajamas in the guest room closet. They might be a bit big, but they should fit well enough."
"I'll contact Urahara later. His hot springs should help speed up your recovery."
As he reached for his phone to call the Urahara Shop, a fragrant breeze brushed past him.
The crimson sunset bathed them in warm light, turning the golden hues of her skin into a deeper shade.
A Hell Butterfly drifted through an unseen doorway, its delicate wings carrying the scent of nectar.
A powerful surge of Reiatsu shot into the sky, sharp like a sword yet gentle like a flowing current.
The butterfly, caught in the spiritual storm, flitted toward the distant mountains as if guided by an invisible force.
And that very Reiatsu, akin to a blade, a spear, and a tempest combined, unknowingly shattered the fragile petals of a blooming cherry blossom.
