A massive black sword shadow descended from the sky, slashing toward Aaron's position with a burst of terrifying power.
"Boom…!"
After a deafening explosion, dust filled the air once again. A figure identical to Aaron slowly emerged from the haze, gripping a black Zanpakutō in his hand.
He glanced at the corpse of a bald young man lying nearby, his presence exuding a suffocating murderous intent.
That young man—who had briefly assumed the form of Yoruichi before being slain by Aaron—was his younger brother.
Just as he was about to strike, a strange light flickered in his eyes.
At that moment, Aaron, clad in bone armor, appeared high in the sky, his afterimage lingering for a brief instant.
His gaze was indifferent as he looked down at the figure below—one who bore his exact likeness.
A brief silence fell before an overwhelming surge of Reiatsu erupted from both of them, clashing with immense force.
"Boom… Rumble…!"
As their Reiatsu collided, a fierce shockwave spread in all directions, stirring up a violent gale.
After an initial exchange, the doppelgänger launched himself into the air, his feet propelling him upward with immense force.
He glared at Aaron from a distance and said in a deep voice, "Our original mission was to capture you alive. But now, it seems we have no choice but to kill you."
Aaron snorted coldly, ignoring the words of his opponent.
With a faint murmur, he whispered, "Devour everything—Chaos Gluttony! Bankai!"
As Aaron unleashed his Bankai, a horrifying vortex of energy formed, frantically absorbing the surrounding Reiatsu and Reishi.
His opponent, however, was not idle.
In an instant, an afterimage flickered behind Aaron, and a Zanpakutō swung toward him in a ruthless attack.
Sensing the danger, Aaron turned and countered with his blade, blocking the fierce strike.
"Clang!"
The impact forced both combatants to retreat several meters before stabilizing themselves.
The doppelgänger let out an enraged roar and unleashed his Reiatsu without restraint.
Like the weight of Sōkyoku descending from above, the oppressive spiritual pressure crashed down on Aaron.
At this moment, the copy of Aaron had seized the advantage.
Channeling the absorbed spiritual energy into his Zanpakutō, he performed a seamless slashing motion while forming a dazzling blue Cero in his left hand.
Countless Reishi-formed blades materialized, streaking toward Aaron with deadly precision.
Before the first wave of attacks had finished, a barrage of white Reishi arrows followed at terrifying speed.
Aaron, unfazed by the oncoming assault, let out a cold snort. With fluid movement, he flashed through the storm of attacks, dodging them one after another.
His Reiatsu flared, whipping the air around him into a howling vortex, repelling the relentless barrage of sword shadows and Reishi arrows.
Because of the immense spiritual energy surging in the atmosphere, the once-clear sky darkened, thick storm clouds forming above.
Black thunderclouds quickly condensed, rotating as they absorbed the surrounding Reishi.
"Reflection."
With Aaron's calm utterance, six colossal cubic mirrors materialized around him, acting as an impenetrable barrier.
The sword shadows and Reishi projectiles struck the mirrors and instantly vanished.
A moment later, a deafening series of explosions echoed as the attacks were reflected back at their original source.
"Too slow."
Aaron appeared behind his opponent in an instant, his Zanpakutō poised downward, his gaze cold and unreadable as his adversary turned to counter.
In that moment, the ground beneath them transformed into a vast blue lake.
As Aaron's Zanpakutō descended into the water, ripples spread outward, distorting reality itself.
Simultaneously, dozens of afterimages materialized in every direction, sealing off all possible escape routes.
The shadow of his black blade, now enveloped in crackling purple lightning, descended like a bolt of dark lightning, its speed beyond comprehension.
"Boom… Rumble…!"
Thunder roared as the lake's surface began to churn violently.
Yet, within that maelstrom, the locked figure suddenly appeared behind Aaron like a ghost.
A twisted grin spread across his face. With a swift slash of his sword, he simultaneously hurled a blue Reishi javelin from his left hand.
By the time Aaron turned to face him, both the sword strike and javelin had already landed.
"How… can you…?"
Before he could finish, blood sprayed from his mouth as he was sent hurtling through the air, his spiritual pressure plummeting instantly.
Seeing his attack succeed, the doppelgänger flickered toward Aaron's side, his laughter echoing as he sensed the instability in his opponent's Reiatsu.
His voice was filled with cruel amusement. "If you hadn't killed my foolish brother, I wouldn't have obtained my full abilities."
"Not only can I assume your appearance, but I can replicate your fighting skills and power as well."
"How does it feel? Unexpected, isn't it? Ahahaha!"
"At first, I doubted my chances of winning… But after absorbing half of my brother's power, I now possess your memories and past."
"Gluttony… Reflection… Imitation…"
"What an impressive Zanpakutō."
"But do you really think that by mimicking Kyōka Suigetsu, you can hypnotize me?"
"How foolish! Hahaha!"
"It's too late for you now. Everything you've done in this battle—I've already mastered it."
"So now… you die!"
Lloyd's expression twisted into a feral grin as a dazzling blue light crackled in his hand, electricity arcing violently in all directions.
Just as he prepared to deliver the final blow, the sound of shattering glass echoed through the battlefield.
"Crack…"
"Crack…!"
Lloyd's eyes flickered with confusion as he looked down at the lake's surface, now fracturing like a shattered mirror.
A twisted smile formed on his lips once more.
"Oh? Has your imitation of Kyōka Suigetsu broken? Hahaha, how unfortunate."
He raised his glowing arrow, preparing to strike.
But before he could react, a crimson sword shadow entwined with purple lightning sliced toward him from behind.
He instinctively moved to evade, yet an unexpected sensation gripped him—his feet were frozen solid in an instant layer of ice.
As cherry blossoms danced through the air, a cold, emotionless voice rang behind him.
"Are you really yourself? Quite the performance."
