The next day, when Aaron woke up, he noticed that the clothes he had tossed onto the floor the night before had vanished.
He opened the cabinet, grabbed a random set of clothes, and put them on.
As he stepped out of the room, he saw Yoruichi wearing oversized pajamas, busy in the dining area. At that moment, she lacked her usual carefree demeanorâshe looked more like a devoted partner at home.
Hearing the sound of movement from his direction, Yoruichi panicked slightly, glanced at Aaron, and then hurried into the kitchen.
Aaron chuckled, shook his head, and followed her inside. At that moment, Yoruichi was carefully baking bread in the oven.
Ding!
It was unclear whether Yoruichi had sensed his gaze, but upon hearing the crisp sound from the oven, she suddenly became flustered.
"Yoruichi, thanks for your hard work," Aaron said with a warm smile.
Yoruichi briefly glanced at him, gave a small nod, and continued focusing on her task.
During breakfast, the usually ravenous Yoruichi ate surprisingly little. Seeing this, Aaron chuckled again.
Flustered, Yoruichi's face tinged with red as she lowered her gaze.
"Yoruichi, this isn't like you."
She slowly raised her head and softly replied, "If I eat too much, I might end up looking bad..."
Aaron, amused by her sudden shyness, reached out and gently patted her head. "With such a delicious breakfast, you should eat more. Come on, dig in."
After finishing their meal together, Aaron stood up and prepared to leave for work.
By then, Yoruichi had already begun tidying up the house. When Aaron walked past her, she hesitated, looking slightly uneasy.
He placed a hand on her lower back and lightly kissed her cheek. "No need to worry about cleaning. Your injuries haven't fully healed yetâjust rest."
Yoruichi gazed at him, nodded lightly, and whispered, "I'll wait for you to come home. Stay safe."
As she watched his figure disappear through the door, memories from the previous day resurfaced in her mind. Feeling a bit shy, she chuckled softly and resumed tidying up.
Within a vast Reishi-infused space, more than twenty figures stood in small groups, engaged in discussion.
With a sudden fluctuation in the space, Jugram Haschwalth appeared.
The moment he arrived, the murmuring ceased as all eyes turned toward him.
Haschwalth let out a soft sigh before speaking. "By now, you must have all heard about the fate of the Lloyd brothers. What are your thoughts?"
A young man with short, dark hair adjusted his tie with a smirk and stepped forward, scoffing. The dark eyeshadow around his eyes made him look perpetually fatigued.
Looking at Haschwalth with mild disdain, he sneered, "Weren't you responsible for their deaths?"
"Even though His Majesty has been missing for a thousand years, the Sternritter have continued to endure, passed down through generations."
"Your ancestors may have led us in the past, but you are no king. You have no right to command us as you please."
Haschwalth cast a cold glance at the manâGabrielâbut didn't respond. Instead, scanning the rest of the gathered Sternritter, he continued, "The reason I sent the Lloyd brothers was because their mission related to His Majesty's disappearance. However, I did not anticipate both of them being slain."
"Now, we must decideâshall we go after this individual as a unit, or send a select few to retrieve him?"
At that moment, a young girl wearing a hat stepped forward, munching on a hot dog. She smirked. "Haschwalth, you really know how to talk."
Without missing a beat, she pulled a rice ball from a heart-shaped container at her waist and took a large bite, chewing loudly. Whether intentional or not, she shot Haschwalth a provocative glance before continuing to eat.
Several other girls subtly pulled her aside, whispering among themselves.
Haschwalth frowned slightly, his sharp gaze sweeping across the room.
The Sternritter were either murmuring in small groups or standing alone, deep in thought.
Then, breaking the tension, a loud burst of laughter echoed through the space.
Everyone turned toward the sourceâa muscular man with a pronounced beard.
He wore a golden mask with a red pentagram, a matching bowtie, and a wide, gleaming five-star belt that shimmered under the light.
It was Mask De Masculine.
The Sternritter sighed in unison, already predicting what was coming.
"The Lloyd brothers? Ha! What would they know about true strength? They were just cheap imitators."
"If I run into the guy who took them out, I won't even need to wrestle with him! A single headbutt and a shoulder slam will finish the job!" Masculine declared, puffing out his chest proudly.
Even Haschwalth, usually composed, couldn't help but shake his head.
Masculine's words only reinforced his reputationâbrawn over brains.
Gabriel, the first to challenge Haschwalth, sneered again. "What an idiot."
Many of the Sternritter chuckled at his remark.
But one person remained unfazedâa short, chubby, bald girl with glasses. She clapped excitedly and cheered, "Mr. Mask De Masculine is the strongest! Go, Mr. Masculine!"
Masculine grinned widely at his devoted fan. "Ahahaha! That's right, James!"
His eyes gleamed with determination as he clenched his fist. "Enough talk. Let's go see this so-called threat for ourselves! I'll show him what real power looks like!"
The other Sternritter looked on with mixed expressionsâsome amused, others indifferent. Only Haschwalth seemed to have an intense gaze, his mind calculating.
Masculine's unique ability, combined with James's support, might just counter Aaron.
Haschwalth stepped forward, his tone serious. "Very well. If there are no objections, I will entrust this task to you two. Bring the target back."
With that, he tossed a glowing blue gemstone to Masculine and outlined key details.
The other Sternritter quickly lost interest, dispersing in different directions. Only Masculine and James remained, brimming with excitement.
Masculine clutched the gemstone and roared confidently, "James, let's move out! Time to show this 'Aaron' the might of a superhero!"
"Ahahahahaha!"
