As soon as Killer Bee cloaked himself in the Eight-Tails' chakra shroud, his power skyrocketed.
Hoshigaki Kisame gritted his teeth and swung Samehada to block the attack. He was the man known as the Tailless Tailed Beast—the stronger his opponent, the more excited he became.
Bee quickly realized that his katana couldn't pierce Kisame at all. He had no choice but to switch up his attack method.
"First Eight Blades!"
And then, he headbutted him.
Kinjīn, watching from the sidelines, exclaimed happily, "Yo! Now the opponent's head is flying off!"
Boom!
Killer Bee's head smashed against Kisame's, but to his surprise, Kisame's head didn't budge.
Bee frowned as he felt his Tailed Beast Chakra Cloak fading away. "Tch. You absorbed my chakra."
Kinjīn quickly analyzed the situation. "Bee, I see it now! It's that sword! That sword is absorbing your chakra!"
Bee clenched his fists. So that's why my Lightning Release blades couldn't cut through him earlier. Before his sword could even reach Kisame's flesh, its chakra had already been drained away—rendering it useless.
Samehada let out a gurgling sound, its scales twitching as it fed on the chakra. Meanwhile, Kisame and Bee were standing forehead to forehead, locked in a battle of wills—though the scene looked disturbingly intimate.
Kisame grinned. "Seems like Samehada likes you a lot. That octopus-scented chakra of yours must be delicious. This is the first time I've seen it this excited."
Bee snorted. "Your eyes are real pretty too... But soon enough, I'll turn them into dead fish eyes, fool, ya fool!"
With that, he pushed off and took several leaps backward, breaking the awkward position.
Raising his katana, Bee pointed it at Kisame. "I'm gonna carve you into sashimi."
As Bee spoke, Samehada shuddered, its body swelling as it devoured more chakra. Its tongue slid out hungrily—it wanted more.
Kisame smirked and gave a mocking bow. "I am Hoshigaki Kisame. Please take care of me."
Bee, unfazed, pulled out his notebook, licked his finger, and scribbled something down. "Hoshigaki... Kisame..."
Kisame sighed. "You can actually spit out ink? Yeah, you're definitely a bastard octopus."
Kinjīn, watching, was speechless. "Baka! It's already this late in the fight, and you're still thinking about writing lyrics?!"
Bee grinned, rapping in response. "Don't worry, Kinjīn, I'ma make him cry his eyes out, that bastard shark!"
Then, he struck his signature pose—one hand pointing to the sky.
"Yo!!!"
In an instant, the Eight-Tails' chakra cloak reformed, this time manifesting seven tails. The sheer force caused the snow beneath them to melt away.
Kinjīn observed carefully. "The chakra cloak… it's at seven tails now, but he hasn't gone all out yet. Seems like Bee is still holding back."
Bee grinned at Kisame. "You know what's funny?"
Kisame narrowed his eyes. "What?"
Bee charged forward with his sword, shouting, "Octopuses eat sharks!"
He aimed for a lethal stab, but Kisame sidestepped and swung Samehada downward. The sentient blade flicked out its tongue, clearly salivating.
Kisame sneered. "You really don't learn, Jinchūriki. Samehada, feast!"
With a wet, slurping sound, Samehada latched onto Bee's chakra cloak, sinking its scales into him. Kisame took the opportunity to grab Bee, lifting him before hurling him across the battlefield. Samehada ripped away a massive chunk of the Tailed Beast chakra in the process.
Bee tumbled through the snow, landing near Kinjīn.
Kinjīn grimaced. "Bee, that sword… every time it eats your chakra, it gets even bigger."
Kisame could feel the chakra Samehada had absorbed flowing into him. With a triumphant smirk, he turned to Bee. "Looks like this time, it's the shark eating the octopus."
Bee glanced down at himself—only one tail remained. So that thing can eat up to six tails' worth of chakra in one go…
This form wasn't going to cut it.
He pulled his katana from its latch and retracted his chakra cloak, standing tall. Time to move on to the next stage.
Meanwhile, Kisame, struggling to hold up the bloated Samehada, finally set it down. The sword's scales twitched eagerly.
"I've never seen Samehada this full before... This is exhilarating."
Kinjīn's expression darkened. "What now? A contest of endurance?"
At that moment, a deep voice echoed inside Bee's mind.
"Let me out, Bee. Let's transform into full Tailed Beast mode."
It was Gyūki, the Eight-Tails, speaking from within Bee's seal.
Bee sighed. "No, you idiot, you bastard! If you come out, the whole damn battlefield will be destroyed! Kinjīn and Fatty are still here!
"Besides, I've been keeping a low profile. If I go full Tailed Beast, everyone will know where I am… And if Big Bro finds out, I'm screwed!"
Gyūki grunted. "This hesitation isn't like you, Bee."
Bee crossed his arms. "So what now? Should I go into Version 2? That won't work either. That sword drained nearly all of my chakra already.
"Hey, Gyūki, lend me some of yours!"
Gyūki sighed. "Fine. Just don't start rapping, or I'll have a headache. If it weren't for me, you'd already be dead."
Bee grinned. " Gyuki, Gyuki, you're the best! I'm so grateful, yo!"
As he spoke, all eight chakra tails erupted from his back.
Kisame's smirk faltered. "Oh?"
The chakra tails spun, forming a circle around Bee before a blinding white light engulfed him.
Killer Bee had entered Version 2—his entire body cloaked in the Eight-Tails' crimson chakra.
Kisame didn't look afraid. In fact, he looked excited. "Oh? You've gone and transformed."
Kinjīn shook his head. "No… This isn't full transformation. This is Version 2, where the Jinchūriki keeps the Tailed Beast's power but remains in humanoid form."
From the crimson mass, solid bone plates began to form around Bee's body, reinforcing his strength.
With a sharp roar, Bee shouted, "Lariat!"
Samehada quivered in Kisame's hands, its scales clattering in excitement.
Kisame's grip tightened, his teeth clenched. "Samehada's going wild. The amount and quality of chakra are completely different now…"
Bee, fully prepared, charged at full speed.
Kisame stared at the monstrous wave of chakra rushing towards him.
"Damn… That's too much chakra, even for me!"
