Jack had been wandering through that hallway for a day. He hadn't leveled up at all. But he had gained a higher mastery of his lighting amplification. The skeletons were increasingly growing stronger and denser in hordes. He was getting closer. As he cleared through another wave he looked forward. His sweatshirt was in tatters from the onslaught. As a giant horde of skeletons came his way. He leaned over and sighed. He used lightning amplification and concentrated his mana fully through his legs.
He burst forward in a flash of lightning. Ripping and tearing through the skeletons in an instant. He held the shriveled spine of one as he continued going.
"Shit! I can't stop!"
He tripped on his foot and sent himself flying. Into the air. Suddenly feeling a large gust of wind.
'Wait…wind? How? Last I remember I was in a…oh my god.'
As Jack looked out onto the landscape he was soaring into. He saw paradise. A lush forest filled with springs and beautiful mountains. A particularly large one in the middle. And that one. Was the one he was about to collide into.
'Shit. This is gonna hurt.'
He braced himself for landing. But instead he found his landing to be soft. A bush had grown on top of the mountain. It was not there before.
'Well. I'm not going to question how that happened. All that matters is that I'm—'
His thought was interrupted by the mountain started to shift and turn beneath him. He grabbed onto a nearby palm tree. He was curious how that got on top of a mountain. But he didn't care. The mountain surfaced from the ground. Its springs gushing onto the ground beneath. As Jack looked down. He noticed. He was not in fact on a mountain. The mountain had a face. And arms. And legs. And hands. It's arm stretched out and grabbed Jack. Positioning it in front of its moss covered and stony face.
"Ah, so you've finally arrived. I wasn't sure if you would make it here or not. But I'm happy you did."
Jack was extremely confused. The mountain was speaking. To him.
"You must be confused…I am Titanus, the lord that governs all living things, I am also known as the second of the three beasts of destruction. I believe you have already met the first."
Jack looked towards the gigantic face. It was simply too big for him to even comprehend. But he slowly started to collect himself.
"So…you're…that…things, brother? How come you guys—"
He was interrupted.
"Don't look anything alike. Who ever said we had to? Who makes those decisions, human? Or…can I even call you that?"
"What? What are you talking about?"
"I sense conflict in your soul. Perhaps that's the reason why you were sent to me. By him."
As Titanus brought that up. A sharp pain coursed over his entire body.
