Chapter 227 - Arcanine and Tauros

Blue retrieved Alakazam then tossed the ball directly into Daisy's hands on the sidelines.

Daisy shook her head then took the ball and headed for the healing machine off to the side. There were also healing machines here, just like the ones in Pokémon Center.

And again, they were made by the Joes and then dispatched here. Accordingly, they weren't just sent to the Institute, there were also healing machines inside the gym. After all, we are all part of the League's infrastructure, so it is also necessary to support each other.

Moreover, the gym and the Institute are not likely to replace the Pokémon Center, so naturally the Joy family has no need to hide anything.

What should be the next Pokémon?

Blue was really a bit torn. After all, Rope's Pokémon is basically less of a guess. In the end, Rope only had five official Pokémon, and only Charizard, Arcanine, and Entei were the only three that had really formed a fighting force.

Arcanine has evolved and distanced herself from the rest of the Pokémon. Now Charizard can only compete with Arcanine after its mega evolution.

As they knew last night when they had dinner together, Arcanine's strength has really improved to a certain extent.

Rope was also surprised with Arcanine's strength now. It can be said that it's a thick and thin.

From this point of view, Rope's next Pokémon should be Arcanine.

Then what would be the best Pokémon to use for himself?

While Blue was thinking about this question, Rope was also thinking about this question however he was not pressurized to think about it. It wasn't that he had guessed it, but it wasn't a good guess...

Blue pulled a team of Pokémon a year, and now the bred and unbred ones were stacked on top of each other in almost a box. That's almost thirty Pokémon.

These are the good ones. There are still some that can't be handled.

Dozens or hundreds are possible.

Rope did a token first read, then simply barred Charizard then sent Arcanine up.

"Go Arcanine!"

Arcanine used to emerge from Luxury Ball along with a golden shard flash. Then roared out in a furious manner.

"Ow!!!!ヽ(`⌒メ)ノ"

Blue froze as he watched Rope's smooth substitution maneuver.

How come my side is not yet ready to replace what Pokémon you side first replaced?

Who the hell is the Gym Leader here?

Rope looked at Blue's weird eyes and made a 'please' gesture.

Blue was well aware that this Rope guy was messing with his mind, but he couldn't help but get pissed off next...

"Go Tauros!!!"

With Blue's shout, a large brown cow with three tails spread out appeared on the playing field.

"Moo!!!! (Didn't check... I think it's this one...)"

Speaking of Tauros, this is actually the most commonly used Pokémon in the Professor Oak or Oak family. The Oak family doesn't have any particularly obvious attribute bias, so if you're hard pressed to pick one, you'll have to pick out the general lineage.

The Oak family doesn't have any obvious attribute bias, so you'd have to pick out the general family, and in the general family, Kangaskhan and Tauros are really the best Pokémon they have.

Looking at this Tauros in front of him, Rope also knew Blue was pissed off on a real basis.

But...would he be afraid? Arcanine's first battle...fuck it!

"Arcanine! Extreme Speed!"

Rope ordered directly.

"Tauros, Protect!"

Blue also ordered decisively.

Arcanine's body lit up with white light, and then immediately followed by red flames covering the white light.

Arcanine was like a fire meteor, quickly rushing towards Tauros, who was not far away, at a speed that would make people marvel.

On the other hand, Tauros on the other side instantly finished covering his green light shield.

Protect's move is really strong in a battle where there is no limit to the number of skills...

Arcanine slammed into Tauros's Protect, and the green shield around Tauros's body was cracked, and Tauros's hooves scratched four traces on the ground.

And after Arcanine's impact was completely powerless, Tauros' Protect was similarly shaky, as if it would fall apart with a poke.

"Tauros! Earthquake!"

Blue commanded blandly.

Rope also did not dodge, directly commanded, "Fire Fang!"

directly on top of it, Arcanine's body armor and Earthquake's shockwave directly collided. Arcanine's flame armor bloomed out a crack. Arcanine's face also appeared a look of pain, but it was only fleeting.

On Arcanine's face, the pain quickly changed to ferocity, and then he bit down hard on Tauros' back.

Tauros let out a long horn of pain at the bite.

The more Blue watched, the more he felt his teeth hurt. This flame armor made by Rope's ability was really too annoying...

The point was that in just a moment, the flame armor had finished repairing itself and then was once again as good as new.

The stalemate between Tauros and Arcanine didn't last long, and soon the dog and the bull scattered.

The two Pokémon were once again looking at each other from a short distance apart.

And on the sidelines, Whitley was really feeling amazed. You know she had seen Arcanine and Sabrina's Alakazam go head-to-head back in the day. At that time, Growlithe couldn't face this level of Pokémon head-on yet, and could only rely on various means to drain the opponent's stamina.

In the end, he was defeated by Sabrina's Alakazam.

But now, Arcanine has been able to go head-to-head with Tauros that is no weaker than that regular Alakazam at the time.

If it took Blue a year to put together a team...

then it only took Rope a few months to put together a team good enough to compete for the title.

Whitley looks over at Rope, still in awe.

On the other side of the room, Professor Oak and Daisy also looked at Rope in shock, they were only thinking of letting Rope go out on a trip because they thought he was too much of a nerd.

After all, it was too anti-human to force Rope to make some achievements in sparring and cultivation. Not everyone is a Professor Oak, and the fact that Rope holds the title of Professor at such a young age is enough to make them proud.

Now it seems...Rope might even be able to come up with a handful of new champions.

Professor Oak's face is full of sighs and pride. At his age, nothing makes him happier than seeing his juniors grow up enough to inherit his mantle.

The hard truth is that he'd be happier if this offspring was a kid he'd raised himself.

And Rope just happens to be the one he taught by hand.

Professor Oak was very happy!

Daisy, who was beside Professor Oak, was looking at Rope who was shining brightly on the field, her eyes shining like stars.

She hadn't thought that the little guy she picked up at that time would have become such a powerful trainer by now. The way Rope looked at her like a little beast back then she still remembered.

Where Rope really came from and what he came for is not important anymore.

Rope was a very special person, a very special person to Daisy.

"Rope, go for it!"

Daisy eventually shouted as she couldn't hold back from standing up.

Beside her, Professor Oak and Whitley were both looking at her with strange faces.Daisy felt a little embarrassed but managed to hold back her shyness before slowly making herself look as normal as possible as she sat down.

Red scowled and nodded towards Rope and reached out, giving Rope a secret thumbs up.

Blue, on the other hand, is mentally fried...

That's a real sister! This is his own sister! Don't be like that! I'm your brother! I'm your brother!

Blood is thicker than water!

Rope smiled and gave Daisy a thumbs up, but only he knew what was in his heart.

"Arcanine!Close Combat!"

That said, Rope crossed over for so long and felt that the best bit of his luck lies in arriving at Professor Oak's side and then becoming Professor Oak's family.

Otherwise, if she really traveled to an ordinary family, it is still hard to say whether she can afford the research expenses in the beginning, and it is more likely that she will not become a researcher at all, right?

After all, research interest is something that depends on atmosphere and support. Researchers spend a lot more money up front than trainers. Of course, this was the kind that was going to produce results.

And the other advantage of having money was...there was literally no shortage of Skill Machines!

You know skill machines are expensive!

And in Rope's case, there was literally no shortage of them...so their Pokémon had a really wide striking range.

"Tauros! Rock Slide!"

Blue could only order helplessly to follow up, and while Protect was supposedly shelved once a move, that was based on a turn-based you-go-round situation that would calm the rioting energies in the body. But in reality... there was a fight going on, so there was no time to calm down the energy.

Rock-based energy coalesced in the sky, and in the blink of an eye, several huge rocks formed.

It had to be said that Blue's cultivation was really on point. This level of energy usage was really and its rare. It was really hard for non-self energies to still be inspired so quickly.

And the Close Combat over there didn't really take very long, Arcanine may be young and have a short time to work out, but he can't help but be hung...

The fighting energy mixed with Red Flame maneuvered with ease, and it wasn't too far off from the fire energy.

Tauros' Rock Slide predicted Arcanine's position. Just as Arcanine rushed up and prepared to attack, Tauros' Rock Slide had also fallen.

And although the armor on Arcanine was still there, he chose to dodge on the principle of getting hurt less if he could.

And Rope on the other side actually meant the same thing. Don't take hard hits on skills that can be avoided. After all, this wasn't a battle with a quick victory or defeat.

The fighting system energy on Arcanine's body dispersed. And with a twist, he dodged the crumbling rocks.

Tauros naturally didn't miss this opportunity both horns flashed with white light followed by a steel-like coloration.

''Horn Attack''

Rope's face stared, but he could only just open his mouth and say, "Avoid!"

Avoiding again and again, the angle Arcanine could vacate was getting smaller and smaller.

Arcanine sidestepped again, then barely dodged this Horn Attack move from Tauros.

"This is it now! Bite!"

A small angle naturally couldn't be used with a skill that required a lot of space, including the fact that Tauros had just used a Horn Attack with the same intention.

Arcanine's timing was well caught, and with a bite, the teeth with flames bit down hard on Tauros' back. And again, it bit into the spot where it had just gnawed.

Otherwise, how can we say that this Arcanine guy looks two-haired, but is actually really ruthless...

Tauros howled in pain once again, and then his tail transformed into the color of steel, and viciously lashed towards Arcanine. And this time Arcanine withdrew quickly, stomping his hind paws on Tauros's back before flipping over and flying out. Dodging the iron tail.

And Tauros's tail stopped before reaching himself, even if he would normally whip himself with his tail to keep himself motivated to fight, it wasn't with an Iron Tail...

"Tauros! Take Down!"

With Blue's command, the eyes of the glowing-red Tauros coalesced white light on his body, then the general system of energy converged, followed by a vicious slam towards the unsteady Arcanine.

It had to be said that every successful trainer was an excellent opportunist, and the timing and eye for catching an opportunity was really nothing to sneeze at.

"Arcanine! Protect!"

After all, he had lived to become the person he hated the most...

Naturally, Rope used Protect as well.

The margin for error that came with this move was simply too high!

Tauros' Take Down blasted into Arcanine's crimson shield without stirring a ripple.

The energy dissipated, and then Tauros was once again knocked back two steps before Arcanine followed up with a Flare Blitz head-on.

"Tauros avoid it!!!"

Blue hurriedly commanded.

But in the end, it was too late, the last remnants of Sunny Day in the sky were exhausted, and the battle in front of him was already clear.

With a Flare Blitz from Arcanine, Tauros was knocked out hard, and a little later, Tauros made close contact with the ground. But soon, a red light appeared and collected Tauros back.

Blue's eyes grew heavy.

The Flame Armor dispersed, revealing Arcanine's bruised and battered body.

Although the Flame Armor's protection was high, it was still hard to avoid getting injured in the middle of such a high-intensity battle. Even the power of the aftermath was still great.

"Tauros is incapacitated! Second match! The challenger, Rope, wins! Please send out the next Pokémon for Blue!"

Red looked at Rope in amazement.Killing Blue twice in a row, this was something Red was looking forward to!

Blue's face was ugly... the whole thing was as if his three to five years of experience had been fed to the dogs... after all, Rope this this guy was just a newcomer...

It was just a shame that it was a newcomer with an open mind. It's like Rosa who was able to use Frenzy Plant in her first gym... (from the Black and White game promo)

Rope's face broke into an unmistakably clean smile.

"Come on, Blue, get on with it! Come on!"

Blue looks at Rope, who owes him a beating, and can't wait to just get his hands on him...

...Unfortunately can't beat him.
