Chapter 279, Bloodthirsty Double Blades
"Where is Lady Shanaila?" Imiro asked again.
"Inside," Sheila Grey gestured, and someone immediately went to the stone house at the back to fetch her.
Soon, Shanaila, looking much better, came out.
She smiled, "Steward Imiro."
"As long as Lady Shanaila is alright, please board the ship and rest. We'll head back to Gold-Silver Island shortly."
"Alright!" Shanaila glanced back at Wu Heng and the others, smiling and nodding before boarding the guild's ship.
Imiro continued, "Where are the pirate bodies?"
"Over here," Sheila Grey led him to the side.
Not far away on the beach lay three bodies covered in tattered linen cloth.
The cloth was lifted, revealing the faces of the corpses.
"Blood Hand Pirate Group!" Imiro immediately recognized who they were.
Blood Hand had been one of the most troublesome pirate groups in the vicinity.
They were ruthless, never leaving any survivors.
Surviving until now was proof enough of their tenacity.
The guild members, despite being outnumbered and outleveled, managed to kill them all.
Quite unexpected.
"Cover them and take them back. You all did very well; let's head back." Imiro said.
Sheila Grey nodded, immediately calling for people to carry the bodies onto the ship.
They took the pirate ship along and began their return voyage.
......
On the returning sea vessel.
Sheila Grey leaned on the railing, enjoying the sea breeze, "This trip, you pretty much handled everything yourself."
"The results are shared by everyone; we just played different roles." Wu Heng walked over, standing beside her.
"We just went up the mountain and searched around but didn't find anyone." Sheila Grey continued.
Last night's battle plan.
They were supposed to climb the mountain and rescue the hostage, also facing battles and dangers.
But throughout the entire fight.
Wu Heng handled everything, while they just made a detour and then ran back.
"I didn't expect Shanaila to be on the ship," Wu Heng paused briefly, then asked in a low voice, "What's her status? She seems quite important."
"She's the president of the Starflower Maritime Merchant Guild, the largest guild among the Wood Elves," Sheila Grey explained.
"Such a big guild, and yet a pirate group managed to capture her?"
"Yeah, we were surprised too. There should be further investigation into this matter."
Wu Heng nodded without saying much.
According to what Shanaila told him last night, her route had been leaked.
The pirates had set up an ambush in advance.
It seemed this was a significant factor.
"By the way, why does it feel like Shanaila treats you differently than others?" Sheila Grey spoke again.
Wu Heng raised an eyebrow, "Really? Maybe it's because I rescued her."
"Yeah, that must be it."
......
In the afternoon, the fleet returned to Gold-Silver Island.
Some guild members stayed behind to deal with the ships, while Wu Heng and the others went straight back to the guild.
This operation turned out quite fruitful.
The Steward had promised that finding Shanaila would count as a third-tier merit, plus capturing the Blood Hand Pirate leader and two key members.
There would be a substantial reward.
Back at the office.
Andviel immediately showed a delighted smile, "Master, you're back!"
"Yes," Wu Heng nodded, sitting down nearby, "Nothing happened at the guild while I was away?"
"No, everything's normal."
Andviel poured a cup of tea and placed it in front of him.
Wu Heng took a sip.
He continued, "The Steward needs a report on last night's events; I need you to write it for me."
"Of course, Master!" Andviel spread out a piece of paper and began preparing to write.
Wu Heng thought for a moment and recounted the events of the previous night.
Andviel sat beside him, diligently recording everything.
The entire operation wasn't particularly difficult to analyze.
Just recounting the events as they happened would suffice, ensuring it matched what Sheila Grey would report.
There was nothing special to hide except for the pirate ship he had taken; nothing needed concealing.
Andviel wrote everything down.
Then she organized it and copied it neatly.
"Master, please have a look."
Wu Heng took it and read it from start to finish. After confirming there were no issues, he said, "Send it to the Steward."
"Alright!"
......
Andviel left.
Wu Heng took out all the spoils from the previous night.
He laid them out on the table one by one.
[Bloodthirsty Double Blades (Artifact)][Space Ring][Endurance Belt].
The first item was the dual blades used by the pirate captain.
Wooden handles with iron blades, the blades had dark red stains.
As if stained with blood that hadn't been wiped clean.
[Bloodthirsty Double Blades (Artifact)]
[Category: Artifact]
[Function: Wielder enters a berserk state, wounds are difficult to heal.]
[Side Effect: In a berserk state, sanity decreases over time.]
(Description: A weapon used by a powerful berserker. The wielder gradually succumbs to bloodlust, entering a frenzied state. The sharp blades inflict wounds that are hard to heal, and the wielder gradually loses sanity.)
An artifact!
It seemed this Blood Hand captain was truly remarkable.
Artifacts were already rare, and artifact weapons were even scarcer.
Moreover, dual blades were widely popular, and they could fetch a high price on the market.
Wu Heng looked at the dual blades again.
They provided effects that allowed the wielder to enter a berserk state and made wounds difficult to heal.
These two points could directly enhance the wielder's combat effectiveness.
The downside was the gradual loss of sanity.
During his fight with the pirate captain, the latter turned and fled, showing no signs of losing sanity.
But it wasn't a big deal if Wu Heng gave it to the skeleton to use.
The skeletons were bound to orders, without emotions or sensory influence, so sanity wouldn't affect them.
As long as it didn't turn around and slash him.
Wu Heng put it away and continued examining the other two items.
[Space Ring (5 cubic meters)]
He mentally connected with the ring, probing the space inside.
It contained some daily supplies, food, fresh water, various grenades, and a delicate wooden box.
Wu Heng took out the supplies and the wooden box.
He opened the box.
Inside were neatly stacked gold coins, at least over a thousand.
Quite a wealthy stash.
On top of the gold coins was a note from the Snake Emblem Consortium.
The note could be used to withdraw the stored items from the consortium.
The door opened.
Andviel returned.
"What did the Steward say?" Wu Heng asked.
"He didn't say anything." Andviel replied, her eyes falling on the miscellaneous items beside them, "Master, what are these...?"
"Oh, just some useless stuff. Have someone throw them out."
"Alright."
Andviel called in some staff, who cleared away the clothes and other items littered on the floor.
Wu Heng turned his attention to the third item.
[Endurance Belt]
(Description: A magical belt etched with enhancement runes, providing continuous stamina replenishment.)
