Chapter 169 - Chapter 169: The Fortress of the Blade

Two hours ago.

"So, you want to use me as bait?"

"No, you are a trap."

"What?"

"After you got rid of devour I asked Luma if she could give you an alternative skill, but, being Luma, she refused. So, I asked her just the other day, if I could make a new ultimate, and give it to you."

"Rose?"

"She said yes, so I worked hard and made a powerful skill, called Shadow King."

"Woah. That sounds cool."

"Yep, so, you will be quite the threat, but here's the real kicker."

"What?"

"You're the only one that can see it in your stats. Meaning Angels and other beings would see you as weak."

"What?"

"Perfect for the shadow behind the throne, don't you think?"

Darsen smiled as he comprehended my meaning.

"Well, this shadow is ready for the plan to take place."

"Practice with the skill, get stronger. Live up to being the Shadow King."

"Gotcha."

_

Now…

Now that Darsen was one of 3 Rulers, a few Valkyries stopped giving him odd looks whenever we ate together and chilled.

Of course, they were not happy about someone they construed as weak being placed above their leader, but they lived with it.

Gabriel spasmed at me the night after the presentation.

But Milel came to me with a question.

"Will the Lords have their own strongholds?"

"What?"

"I know not all factions do, but each of the Supreme beings do that with their commanders, so I was wondering if you were following suit."

"Ok, slow down, what do you mean?"

"Oh, of course. You know Heaven, correct?"

"Yes?"

"And how each Archangel has a faction, right?"

"Yes?"

"Well, they also have strongholds."

"Ok, and do you mean like a cool fort on Heaven."

"No, they each have their own world. It's called the Seven Heavenly Realms."

"That sounds cool."

"So, did you not plan to do that as well?"

"Well, hmmm… let's do it this way, you can have a stronghold, but it doesn't necessarily need to be on another world."

"Oh, I'll grab my old one… with your help?"

"Oh, why not?"

She gave me the coordinates, and I warped towards it.

"Woah."

It was huge and quite beautiful. However, it was mostly in ruins.

"Of course, they wouldn't sustain it."

Milel seemed almost about to cry upon seeing the state of her stronghold.

"Hmm. What if we rebuild it?"

"What?"

"Sure, it would need a little elbow grease, but we could fix it."

She smiled again.

"Sure, let's fix it."

"Imagine it in your mind, and I'll do the building."

"Can you do that in a world you don't own?"

"I don't know, may as well test."

"Heh, sure."

I put my hands on her temples, and she imagined.

It was beautiful.

Giant spires made of pearl, laced with gold and emerald. Clean rivers that spiraled into a fountain with a statue of an angel at the center. A quartz house with leather furniture and a plush carpet. Crystal glass allowed light to shine in every building. The streets were paved with smooth stone.

The city stretched and grew from my power. I shone in my power and created the city of Milel.

[Universal Dominance has leveled to 2.]

I opened my eyes.

[The Supreme World, Milel's Tower, has been restored and has now swapped ownership to Rose Hood.]

"Thank you, Rose."

She looked at me and gasped as her face shifted to awe.

{What?}

My voice?

I looked at my hand and noticed that I was glowing, Marks shone on my hand. And my other hand.

Then I began to float up.

"Rose? What's happening?!"

{I don't know}

I floated up, beyond the limits of the world and saw Heaven.

I shone.

{Move closer to home.}

Then Milel's Tower began shifting. It moved, then it stopped. And began circling Pandora, much like those other marbles circle Heaven…

Is this what the Author feels? I felt like my word was supreme, and I was… un… un…stopa…ble…

I fell to a strange world like a meteor.

The glowing faded.

"It seems that that state has limits. But heh."

I have a cool new aspect to creation.

"What just crashed here?"

"I dunno. Maybe it has money."

"Idiot, you think a meteor has money?"

"What if it's a gold meteor?!"

"Oh, that would be awesome."

"It's a… girl?"

"What even is she?"

"Looks like a cat-beast."

"Huh, aren't those kind of rare?"

"Should we sell her?"

"Brant, she's a person! We can't sell a person."

"Come on, Carl, we'd get so much!... Fine, it wouldn't sit right in my stomach if we did."

"If you are done your deciding whether or not to sell me, could you please help me up?"

"… YOU'RE AWAKE?!"

"Yes, and quite able to hear."

"Oh, um sorry about considering selling you."

"You're fine, as long as you don't actually do it."

The duo helped me up, but I was still only able to hobble. That took a LOT of power. I would not be able to do anything big for a few days.

"What's your name, Cat-Beast?"

"Rose, and Cat-Beast?"

"Yeah, short for Beastial Human, Cat Type. But nice name, Rose."

"Thanks."

Then Brant slapped his face.

"Yeah, Carl, it's not polite to call them Cat-Beasts to their face."

"Oh, sorry, Brant."

"Yeah, we're supposed to call them Khajiit."

"Yeah, sorry."

"It's fine."

"Here, come with us, we're adventurers at the nearby city."

"Oh, what's your rank?"

"… I mean, we aren't… what do you mean?"

"Oh, sorry, I'm not from around here, do you not have ranks?"

"No, we normally just get better known."

"Ah."

"Well, the cities a decent walk, let's go."

_

"Guys! Rose is missing."

"Cool."

Milel came bursting in, but me and Darsen kept up our game.

She blinked.

"Are you not concerned?"

"*Sigh* It's as I told your brother, she disappears or bodily disconnects more time than I care to care about, so unless she's in a place where she can't warp from, or a place she could die in, I don't really care."

Darsen snorted.

"Ditto."

Milel looked at us confused before walking out of the guild rubbing her head in confusion.
