Chapter 168 - Chapter 168: The 10 Commanders

"Testing. Testing. 1 2 3 1 2 3. Okay it works. Hello, everyone."

Milel and Gabriel stood a little way away from each other. Both rather uncomfortable.

Other archangels showed up with a few members of their factions.

The Ruler also decided to appear as we still had an alliance.

"Okay, so I've received a few questions that I would like to address."

The crowd quieted down in curiosity.

"Okay first, how many commanders will I have. Easy answer, 10 total commanders."

People cheered. I waited for them to quiet.

"Okay, and what will they be called. Quite simple and a bit cheesy, but the Lords."

"That sounds soooo COOOOL!!!"

"Thank you for the enthusiasm, Erica."

I walked back to the microphone.

"So, the first slot, and I say slot instead of person for a reason that will be apparent for the next one. The First slot goes to… Jalad, come up here!"

Cheers erupted and Jalad walked up before he stood in the 1 spot.

"His mastery of the blade makes him a must for the Lords."

Everyone cheered again.

"Now for the Second slot. That goes to… both Amy and Ausar!"

Some confused cheering erupted as the duo came up and both stood in the 2 spot.

"Now, they are incredibly powerful, but one thing I noticed by watching them, is that they are the strongest together, now I wanted both as commanders, but if they both were in separate slots they would be separated in their tasks, and that's why I had slots. But with their absolute power, I have no doubt they will be incredibly useful within the Lords."

The explanation caused some people to nod in understanding. And some cheers erupted.

"Now for the Third slot… Mammon!"

A lot of cheers erupted as the dwarf walked to the stage.

"His leadership has been a constant for a while, heck he used to be my boss. I know how good he is at it. Not to mention his training methods are incredible. As such, he is invaluable as a lord."

More cheers erupted, and some people started shaking.

"Now for the Fourth slot… Thalia."

A lot of people cheered louder. Thalia was highly respected, even compared to Dallel.

"Thalia's metalworking skill, along with her flame aptitude and adaptive fighting style, causes her to be a graceful and powerful fighter, this, along with her charisma, makes her a needed part of the Lords."

The cheering slowed as now people were eagerly waiting the next name.

"Now this next one is a bit of a new face, but I have known her for a while now, and she is definitely up to the task."

That got people interested.

"For the Fifth slot… Milel!"

Cheers erupted, and Milel walked up. Quite a few archangels also started cheering, including Gabriel. It seemed that they still cared for their friend.

"Milel not only used to be the leader of a higher faction, but she is quite powerful, me and her dueled once and she almost won. Her immense power and her experience makes her essential to the Lords."

That caused shock to a few people, that I nearly lost against Milel. Of course, her being stronger than Michael made my loss a little less shocking, but it still was shocking to them.

But they cheered, nonetheless.

"Now, for the Sixth slot, Elren!"

Pretty much everyone knew he would get the spot. But their cheers were still loud.

"His revival skill has been essential for many of our battles and missions, it has prevented us from losing a majority of our men. Because of that skill, I don't see why he wouldn't be needed as a lord."

Everyone cheered loudly.

"Now for the Seventh slot…. Marcus!"

The Aztec was a favorite of many people, especially given his book knowledge, and surprising docility despite being called the killer commander. Of course, he was still a sadist, but most people didn't know that.

"Marcus was an enemy in the past, but he has proven himself, and now sits as one of our greatest sources of information. Plus, his skill is undeniable, he beat me once. All of that considered, he is essential to the Lords."

Everyone cheered, then I gave the curveball.

"And that is it for the Lords."

Silence and confusion. Even the Ruler was at a loss. Jalad looked at the three empty slots before his eyes widened.

"Rose, isn't that only seven? That is what you are all wondering, right? Well, as Jalad just noticed, I'm doing something kind of different. There are three more commanders, but they will be ranked over the other seven."

The people started cheering again, so I continued.

"These three will act as my right hand, my left hand, and… you get the idea. Now, for the name of these three."

I smiled and looked the Ruler in the eye.

"They will be the three Rulers."

Silence.

The Archangels were frozen in shock, even Milel looked at me like I lost my mind.

Multiple people looked at me with their jaws dropped. Then several looked at the Ruler to see something shocking.

He was smiling.

"Now, the Lords, their titles will be self-imposed or come to them, but the Rulers, I shall title."

Cheering began anew.

"Now, The Warrior King, Dallel."

Cheering erupted as Dallel came to the stage and stood over his selected spot.

"Dallel has ruled in my place in the past and has been essential to our success before, therefore I couldn't see why I wouldn't make him one of the Rulers."

Every time I used the word, ruler, it caused everyone to flinch, except the Ruler himself, who understood my exact meaning behind using the title.

I had placed him above lords, but below me.

After all, no one put their rival above them.

"Now, The Wise Queen, Luma."

Cheers erupted, but some archangels gritted their teeth, however one look at the smiling Ruler caused them to calm down.

"Luma, as the system, is the strongest member of our faction. She is also one of the kindest and most compassionate. Her skills, power, and kindness combined with her nigh infinite knowledge, makes her essential as a ruler."

Cheers sounded as Luma settled into her spot next to Dallel.

"Now, for the last member of not only the Rulers, but the commanders. A dear friend of mine. Shadow King Darsen."

His squad started whooping and cheering. Darsen walked up with a smiled on his face. Slowly more and more people began cheering.

"His skills are undeniable, and his kindness cannot be forgotten. But one thing that he has that I found essential is his tactics. His intellect combined with his sheer skill makes him a must have as a ruler."

The cheering was loud now.

"These are your 10 commanders. The 7 Lords. The 3 Rulers. Thank you all for coming today."

Of course, I knew that some of the Archangels came in the stead of Michael. They wanted to find who they could go for, and as angels can see strength, we had the perfect bait.

And he also knew exactly what I was planning.
