*Chapter 23: The Shadow*
Jin Woo navigated the city's streets, his eyes scanning the shadows for any sign of the observer. Suddenly, he sensed a presence behind him.
He spun around, but there was no one there. The feeling persisted, and Jin Woo knew that he was being followed.
He quickened his pace, leading the observer through the city's winding streets. Finally, he ducked into a narrow alleyway, waiting for the observer to reveal themselves.
A figure emerged from the darkness, their features obscured by a hoodie. Jin Woo's eyes locked onto the figure, his senses on high alert.
The figure slowly pulled back its hood, revealing a face that Jin Woo recognized. It was one of the organization's members, a quiet and reserved individual named Lena.
"Lena, what are you doing?" Jin Woo asked, his voice low.
Lena's eyes seemed to hold a mix of fear and determination. "I'm watching you, Jin Woo. I'm making sure you're ready for what's coming."
Jin Woo's eyes narrowed. "What's coming? What do you mean?"
Lena's gaze darted around the alleyway, as if she feared being overheard. "I'll tell you more, but not here. Meet me at the old clock tower at midnight. Come alone."
With that, Lena turned and disappeared into the shadows, leaving Jin Woo with more questions than answers.
