*Chapter 2: Awakening*
Jin Woo's eyes fluttered open, and he was met with the harsh glare of the fluorescent lights above his bed. He rubbed the sleep from his eyes, wincing as his fingers brushed against the rough texture of the blanket. His small, cluttered apartment was quiet, except for the distant hum of the city outside.
Jin Woo's thoughts were a jumble of memories and worries. He had been a Hunter for years, but his abilities were barely above average. His rank was E, the lowest of the low. He struggled to make ends meet, taking on small jobs and raids to earn a meager income.
But today was different. Today was the day of the Dungeon Break.
Jin Woo's phone buzzed, and he picked it up to see a message from his manager, Thomas Andre. "Jin Woo, we need to talk about the upcoming raid. Meet me at the Hunter's Guild at 2 PM."
Jin Woo's heart sank. He had been hoping for a chance to level up, to become stronger and more respected among his peers. But with his current abilities, he wasn't sure if he was ready for a major raid.
As he got dressed and prepared for the meeting, Jin Woo couldn't shake the feeling that something was off. He looked out the window, watching as the city bustled with activity. Hunters and civilians alike went about their daily lives, unaware of the dangers that lurked in the shadows.
Jin Woo's thoughts were interrupted by a strange sensation. It was as if his body was being pulled apart and put back together again. He felt a surge of energy, and his senses became heightened.
Suddenly, a message appeared in front of him, like a holographic display.
Jin Woo's eyes widened in shock. What did this mean? He had heard of rumors about a mysterious System that could grant Hunters incredible abilities, but he never thought he would be chosen.
As he stood there, frozen in confusion, the System began to explain its purpose and rules. Jin Woo listened intently, his mind racing with possibilities.
He could become stronger. Much stronger.
The System's voice faded away, leaving Jin Woo to ponder his new reality. He looked at his hands, feeling a sense of excitement and trepidation.
What lay ahead? Only time would tell.
