Natalie Clove woke up extremely late in the afternoon after waiting all night for her brother, Carter Clove, to get home. She went down to the receptionist at WallFlower to ask if they had seen him.
"Hm, have you seen my brother?" Natalie asked the receptionist in a soft voice. Before the receptionist could answer, police officers walked in and approached her, asking, "Can you call down the residents of room 204? It's an emergency."
Natalie Clove felt an intense sense of urgency upon hearing that the police were looking for her and Carter's room.
The receptionist turned, gesturing towards Natalie, and said to the police officers, "She's one of the current residents of room 204."
The police officers then took Natalie Clove outside to discuss the emergency. "Natalie, I don't know how to say this, but your brother, Carter Clove, was found dead this morning."
"What? How can he be dead?" Natalie exclaimed, shocked by the news. She screamed that her brother couldn't possibly be dead and accused the police of lying.
The police tried to calm Natalie down, but their efforts only made it worse. She began flailing and hitting the officers who were attempting to soothe her, crying and yelling for her deceased brother.
The police decided to take Natalie to the police department to stay until she calmed down.Meanwhile, the police officer named Cecil Allen, who had found Carter Clove's body, went to the mortician for an autopsy. The news was shocking, to say the least.
Carter had died from drowning and blunt force trauma to his back, as if he had been slammed into something and submerged in water. It was eerily similar to the victims of tsunamis and flooding, but there had been no flooding that day, and certainly no tsunami in the area.
Cecil Allen began to suspect that instead of dying from natural causes, Carter Clove had been murdered in a way that mimicked flooding, and his body had been dumped in front of the same gas station where they found him. She couldn't figure out why someone would go to such lengths to kill someone.
Finally, Cecil Allen reviewed the camera footage from the time of Carter's death. The video showed Carter entering and leaving the gas station. Suddenly, the videotape began glitching, emitting a weird static sound, and stopped after a few minutes, showing Carter's dead body in front of the car he had been smashed against, along with a green visual glitch that cast a green hue around his deceased body.
Now dismissing the idea that someone could have done that to him in such a short period, she began to ponder what had truly happened to Carter when suddenly tall men and women in suits entered and went straight to the chief of the police station, forcing them to drop the case and taking Natalie Clove into custody.
Cecil Allen ran into the police chief's office, demanding answers about what had just happened. The police chief offered no explanation, causing Cecil to leave and try to find answers for herself.
