"... I need you boys to go out and retrieve me a chalice from the deserted lands.", says the King as he hands them a map of the continent. "Woah! This map has everything!", stated by Raymond. "Before you two head off, I must prepare you two with a few items"
They follow the King Genor into the equipment room and are equipped with an artifact called the Vitality Flask with the necroburner enchantment and new armor for Roman. Full metal armor to replace his lighter armor that he donned previously. After receiving their equipment, they head off on their expedition to receive this chalice item.
They take from noon till evening to travel South and get to where they need to be: The Agotita Border
"Hey Raymond, pass me the map. We need to head Southeast from the land border. They travel for another hour until they stumble upon a village. They knock on the door of a few houses until the Ruler of that village comes by. "You boys must've been sent by Lord Genor. "We come for the sake of expedition, we mean no harm" says Raymond. "Well then, my name is Qakim. You boys will be sleeping in the barracks." So, they found a wild boar and some water and had a small feast and slept through the night.
The next day, the twins set off on their mission. They spend two days of eating, sleeping and traveling all the way to the exact location of the artifact: The Old Pharaoh's Tombs
"Goddamn, these pyramids are massive! I knew they were big, but not this big!" "Yeah Raymond, structures housing important figures tend to be massive. Anyways, let's head in." They leash their horses nearby and walk to the entrance as two of the kings men are already standing there. "We were told that you two would be here. Be careful in there, we shall take care of your steeds while you're retrieving the chalice.", one of the knights says. The twins set off into the tomb, preparing for the dangers that await them.
As soon as they walk in, there are piles of bones upon piles of bones stacked up. Within moments, the piles of bones get shaped into various amalgamations of skeletal parts. The twins come up with a plan, to throw each other around like bowling balls and the skeletons are the pins.
As they get ready to move to the next room, the bones of some of each skeleton bind with one another to create a large, monstrous skeletal bull. It charges at Raymond but Roman jumps in the way and grabs the bull by the horns and flips it on its back. It gets back on all fours and the two have a shoving match to see who can back each other into a corner.
Roman then lands a hit right in its eye socket, knocking it back. Raymond then mounts it while Roman prepares the necrobuner on his weapon. Roman charges up an attack directed to the bulls legs and stuns the bull for a quick second. Roman decides to spam the same attack to the bulls legs as he tells Raymond to help him out.
They hack and slash at the bulls limbs and head until it collapses allowing Roman to perform a killer move. He breaks off one of the horns and removes its skull with his bare hands. "This was for the other day when you helped me out". After they defeat the bull, the twins to decend down a few more floors fighting enemies and gathering other minor artifacts. They finally reach the very last floor where they walk down a centered staircase where they see it in the distance of this hallway like room with multiple pillars.
As soon as they move from the staircase, it gets closed off by metal bars. Suddenly, skeletons and mummified corpses covered in bandages flood the scene. They cleave through the hoard of enemies until they're a few feet away from the chalice when it sends out a burst of necroflames, different from the necroburner.
Out from the burst come four skeletons, each having a different weapon and a different purpose. Roman and Raymond prepare to strike until the one of the skeletons lunged at them and strikes Raymond right in the stomach, sending him flying back. Roman then gets uppercutted in the air but then gets slammed into one of the pillars, causing it to crumble. Raymond is recovering but gets ambushed by another skeleton wielding curved swords which he barley dodges but gets kicked to the side by the brawler skeleton, however Roman tackles it from behind and drags its face in the ground before completely body slamming it.
Just then the other two awaken, the Healer and the Mage. The Mage fires a barrage of magic projectiles at Roman, stunning him briefly, while the Healer heals the Brawler. Roman rushes to his brothers aid but gets hit with magic and a lesson in why he shouldn't let his guard down. Raymond plays defence until the Healer and Mage cast a spell so that every time Raymond blocks, the Swordsman becomes stronger as he becomes weaker.
Roman gets the same treatment, as the more he struggles the harder the Brawler hits. He decides to take off his helmet, to reveal the ace up his sleeve. He let's out a war cry, gives him an energy boost which allows him to break out of the spell stunning the Mage and Healer.
He tackles the Brawler through multiple pillars before slamming its skull into the wall and crushes it with his bear hands. Raymond sees an opportunity and knocks the Swordsman in the air with an uppercut and follows up with a jump attack which brings it down as he gets on top of it and crushes its skull with his boots.
The Mage and Healer come back into play by casting a spell trying to absorb the energy of the two but Roman stays persistent, walking through it. He shoulder hits the caster a then throws its body at the Healer, breaking the spell. Raymond takes action as he quickly grabs the Chalice. "Let's see what this thing is capable of", he says as he lifts it over his head.
The Chalice reduces the casters to just a pile of bones once again. "These bastards are a lot tougher than the dark amalgamations and the skeleton bull combined. Imagine if the Kings men where sent on a mission like this" "Well, the important thing is that we got the Chalice, and we got all five limbs intact", Raymond replied. "Well, let's report to the King, I'm sure he'll be proud" "You look a bit frightening without your helmet when you go berserk"
"So you boys actually managed to bring back the chalice? I'm impressed! I'll take this to the trophy room but for now, you boys have served me well so I shall grant you both your very own place among the family." "It is an honor to be apart of the Royals, my Lord", says Raymond "Agreed". "Well, the Queen shall bring you two to thine rooms" he says as the Queen is there waiting for them.
She brings them to their seperate rooms as they make themselves at home.
