Chapter 13 - Chapter 13: Counterattack

Facing the knives and clubs swung by Tiger and his gang, Meng De remained completely calm!

The hallway was only wide enough for two people at most.

He would only have to face attacks from two people at a time!

And he had the high ground.

Moreover, his physical abilities had long reached the human limit, at the level of a superpowered individual!

These ordinary people were no match for him.

And most importantly, he had the biggest cheat of all—the Starry Night Walker!

At night, he gained a significant boost!

While Tiger and his gang needed flashlights to see him clearly, in his eyes, their every move was as clear as day!

So Meng De killed them effortlessly.

One slash, one head!

One slash, one underling!

Meng De slaughtered them left and right, while the underlings screamed in terror.

In an instant, amidst the flashes of blades and clubs, rows of Tiger's underlings fell one after another.

Whether they were ruthless desperadoes or former soldiers turned neighborhood security guards, none could escape his blade!

The only one who offered any resistance was Tiger himself.

Before he retired, he was said to be an Elite Soldier from a certain unit.

His skills were formidable!

Dao Ge had been able to wreak havoc in the area for so many years without incident, and Tiger was at least half the reason for that!

But even he was no match for Meng De. With just one slash, the terrifying force knocked the knife out of his hand.

"Damn it!"

"This kid is freakishly strong! Even I, an Elite Soldier, can't handle him."

"No! This guy's too tough! We need to retreat!"

As his underlings fell one by one, he felt nothing.

They were expendable; as long as he was safe, that was all that mattered!

After all, it was the Apocalypse. Everything was scarce, except for people!

Would he have trouble finding more underlings?

So he didn't care about those still charging forward. They could buy him time as he scrambled down the stairs.

From above, Meng De noticed this and couldn't help but sneer.

"Heh, you sneak attack me in the middle of the night, and now you think you can just run away?"

With one final slash, he took down the last underling. The hallway on the tenth floor was now littered with the bodies of Tiger's gang.

Seeing that Tiger had already reached the eighth floor, Meng De took a few large strides and leaped down, landing right in front of Tiger.

Tiger was startled by Meng De's sudden appearance.

He instinctively stepped back, muttering incessantly.

"You... you can't kill me... if you kill me, my brother won't let you go..."

"My brother has a gun..."

He thought he could scare Meng De by invoking his brother's name, but all he got was a casual response.

"Oh, I see."

Meng De understood the principle that villains often die because they talk too much.

Without wasting any words, Meng De sent Tiger to meet the King of Hell with a single slash!

But it wasn't over yet.

"There's still one more!"

On the second floor, Liu Junjie was crawling like a dog, but he didn't dare stop for a moment.

Just moments ago, when he saw Meng De slaughtering everyone, he realized things had gone south and quickly made his escape.

"Damn it! Meng De must have taken some kind of crazy drug!"

"He's become so strong! So many people couldn't take him down!"

"No, I need to report this to Dao Ge!"

Just as he reached the entrance of Building 5, he saw a figure waiting for him, as if they had been there for a while.

A Tang Saber was still dripping with blood.

Thud!

Liu Junjie fell to his knees with a loud thud.

"Meng De, I..."

Liu Junjie wanted to beg for mercy, but Meng De didn't give him the chance to speak.

The reason Meng De had chased him down was to eliminate any future threats!

He didn't want to risk having his home ambushed while he was busy in the middle of the night.

With a single strike, Liu Junjie was finished.

And just like that!

Nearly twenty people who had come tonight had all fallen by Meng De's hand!

In Room 1501, Building 5.

Chen Jiayao sat anxiously on the sofa, a fruit knife placed on the table.

At this moment, she still didn't know the outcome.

She chose not to wake her elder sister because Meng De had asked her to trust him.

Besides, waking her sister wouldn't help.

It would only add one more person to worry.

So, it was better not to let her know.

Just as she was pacing anxiously, she noticed a figure appear by the window.

Her eyes lit up immediately.

Indeed, it was Meng De.

Having previously climbed down from the window, climbing back up was now second nature to him.

With a soft exclamation, Yao Yao excitedly rushed toward Meng De.

Luckily, Meng De stood firm, or else he might have been knocked over by the girl.

Seeing Meng De return safely, she was overwhelmed with emotion.

So much so that she practically clung to him like a koala.

In Meng De's broad embrace, she appeared incredibly petite.

Perhaps after being so anxious for so long, the moment she saw Meng De, tears began to stream down her face.

It seemed she wanted to release all the worry and fear she had been holding in.

During the time Meng De was away, she had imagined many terrible scenarios.

She had even prepared herself for the worst.

But thankfully, Meng De had returned safely.

Meng De gently patted her back.

He stroked her hair, comforting her softly.

He knew that this girl had never experienced anything like this before and must have been terrified.

He sat on the sofa, holding her, letting her vent her emotions.

After a while, she slowly calmed down, her emotions stabilizing.

Meng De looked at the sweet school beauty crying in front of him and couldn't help but gently tap her cute little nose.

"You're such a big girl now, yet you still cry so easily!"

Noticing the fruit knife on the table, he had a good idea of what had happened.

He decided to tease her a little to distract her.

Otherwise, they wouldn't get a good night's sleep.

"Hmph! I'll cry if I want to!"

"You're not allowed to laugh at me!"

"Or else Yao Yao won't talk to you!"

The girl pouted proudly. If this were before the Apocalypse, who would have thought this was the university's school beauty?

Her adorable demeanor, coupled with her utterly non-threatening words, made Meng De burst into laughter.

"Hmph, you're still laughing at me!"

As if to "get back" at him, she started squirming in his arms.

However, she didn't notice that her strap had slipped due to her movements.

"Yao Yao, I..."

At this point, Meng De didn't need to say anything more. Y

ao Yao's face turned bright red.

Having experienced this once before, she immediately understood what Meng De was implying.

But unlike last time, she didn't try to stop him. Instead, she just slightly closed her eyes.

Is there a chance?

Meng De flipped over, and then
