Chapter 4 - Chapter 4 Omnitrix

Back down at the campsite, Ben was playing on his gaming console with Rio while Gwen was on her laptop.

Just then, Max came up to them, holding a bag of marshmallows as they continued their activities.

"Who wants to roast marshmallows?"

"Just a second, Grandpa, we're about to advance to the next level," Rio said while pressing buttons on his controller with Ben.

"Okay. How about we also tell scary stories while eating them?" Max tried to find another thing that he could use to connect with his grandchildren.

"Scarier than having to spend your summer with your weirdo cousin?" Ben asked in a mocking tone, unable to resist himself.

Gwen glared at him and turned back to her laptop.

"I'm also busy looking up cures for geekiness," Gwen mocked. "Nothing yet, Ben, but let's not give up hope."

"Come on, you guys, we're all in this together. Either you mope around all summer like this, or we can have some fun!" Max said, trying to encourage them.

"I vote for moping," Gwen frowned as she continued typing on her laptop.

"I vote for fun," Rio said, high-fiving Ben as they won the level.

"Me too," Ben followed.

After completing the level, Rio turned off his console and stood up from the stump he was sitting on.

"I'm going to take a quick walk, Grandpa," he said as he walked toward the woods.

"Okay, be careful of insects," Max warned from behind.

"Sure."

---

(MC POV)

As I left the group behind and made my way into the woods, I couldn't contain my excitement. It was finally the moment—the moment I could get the Omnitrix, the moment my life would change.

Having walked half a kilometer into the depths of the forest, I quickly found a high point to get a good look at the area where the Omnitrix was gonna land.

"There it is," I almost shouted, but knowing a time traveler Observant was nearby, I just looked at it.

Keeping my sight up, I eventually spotted a shooting star falling in the distant sky.

Just for the sake of our tradition, I joined my hands and made a wish. As I did so, I witnessed the 'shooting star' change directions and start heading straight at me.

Expecting this, I quickly ran away from the landing site, but before I could get far enough, I was thrown by the force of the impact, landing on dirt.

"Argh, why does it have to blow so much dust? All my clothes are dirty now," I remarked mentally before dusting my clothes off. "But at least I didn't have a literal impact with it."

I slowly walked forward, looking at the huge crater created by the comet. Standing at the edge of the crater, I saw exactly what I'd been wanting since I woke up in this new life.

"Wow… it's not a shooting star," I said, trying to act my best before the time travelers. "It looks like a satellite… or something."

I knew it wouldn't work on them, but I still tried to keep the appearance up.

Soon, smoke began dissipating from the 'satellite'—which was the space pod from earlier.

Then, 'suddenly,' the earth shook, and the ground near the edge crumbled as I came sliding down, finding myself in front of the pod.

As the space pod opened, a blue light flashed, revealing a watch. It was blue on the faceplate with black-framed, gray support and had blue buttons on it.

I almost shed a tear when I remembered how nervous I was when I thought that I wouldn't get the watch because of transmigrating issues.

Although the color was not the one I remembered it to be, I quite liked the new scheme—once again proving that this reality was different from the others.

Giving a bright and mischievous grin, I held out my hand, to which the blue watch unhatched itself and jumped up, clamping onto my left arm.

As the Omnitrix—now blue—clamped onto my left arm, a sudden pain erupted in my hand, surprising me.

It felt like thousands of microscopic needles were digging into my arm. But just as the pain came, it subsided within a second with no sensation left, as if it hadn't happened at all.

Beep-bee-bi

The watch emitted a bright, blue light, its classic sound indicating it was ready for hero time.

I thought -Did Ben also experience this when he first got the Omnitrix?- but soon I left it at that.

I couldn't really remember such small details, just some big events, the basic knowledge of the trip about what was going to happen, which i remembered after the reincarnation, and in detail about some main characters and organizations that kept reappearing in the show.

As soon as the watch gave off the signal, I looked around, seeing no one there. I inhaled a long breath and shouted at the top of my lungs.

"System activate"

Around two minutes later, just silence ensued until I sighted with disappointment. It wasn't like I was hoping for it but still having it meant many things could be easier.

Anway focusing my thoughts I said "if there is nothing, then nothing can be done"

Forgetting about the love of reincarnators, I looked at the Omnitrix carefully, testing it by pulling it, seeing if it truly was unequipable. Sure enough, it didn't budge at all.

The Omnitrix was bulkier compared to normal watches, with the emblem of Plumbers on the dial. But instead of green, it was now blue.

I don't know if Azmuth intentionally made the Omnitrix with the Plumber's logo, thinking that Max was a Plumber, and if the color was also his idea.

With excitement, I immediately pressed the button under the dial. As I did so, 'SNAP'—the dial of the Omnitrix popped up and changed from the X-shaped Plumber's sign to form a diamond shape, and a silhouette of an alien appeared inside it.

The alien had a flame head and thick arms—it was clearly Heatblast, an alien from the Pyronite species, capable of controlling fire. Since I am in a forest right now, turning into it would be absolutely stupid.

Although I could control fire with it, I didn't yet know the extent to which I could control flames. So let's first look at all the aliens available to me.

Turning the dial, another silhouette appeared, belonging to the Tetramand species—Four Arms—with big muscles and four arms.

Then appeared the silhouette of Diamondhead, from the Petrosapien species, made up of a material that has an astronomical value, from spaceship core fuel to hard currency in the universe. Meaning infinite money.

The next was accelerate or more familiarly XLR8, from the Kineceleran species, which specializes in speed. Aka cartoon flash. Ben named it accelerate but it sounded XLR8 so people started writing that.

The fifth silhouette on the dial was from the Ectonurite species, called Ghostfreak, with the ability to turn invisible. But its DNA had a critical problem:

The Ectonurite (Ze'sker) from whom the DNA was copied had his consciousness in that minuscule amount of DNA and could resurrect at any moment in the Omnitrix. It would be necessary to deal with it; otherwise, it would create many problems when I transformed into it. I didn't want to lose such a good alien.

At the time, I couldn't do anything about it other than to be careful and not transform into it. Either Azmuth could fix the problem, or I would see for myself when Gwen gets her magic if we could do anything.

The sixth silhouette was Wildmutt, which was just a big, blind, drooling dog with a transcendent sense of smell, giving him a 360-degree view that didn't even require eyes.

It was good, but mainly for infiltration or stealth missions where I would know others' positions even through walls or obstacles.

The seventh alien that appeared was from the Galvan species, the same species as the creator of the Omnitrix, Azmuth—named Greymatter.

I couldn't imagine what would happen if I, with my brain, turned into a Galvan, one of the most intelligent species in the galaxy.

The eighth alien was Stinkfly, from the Lepidopteran species.

Although it was smelly, it was capable of spitting slimy liquids of different properties from its eyes and producing gases, with a 360-degree view from its four eyes.

At the ninth number was a Galvanic Mechamorph, named Upgrade—an alien best paired with Galvans and one I wanted to become most to upgrade my computer and AI.

The last alien was from the Piscciss Volann species, named Ripjaws. It was the most suitable for underwater combat, with its fish-like movements and underwater breathing.

But it was also the weakest as other than its jaw which can tear many hard materials and underwater adaptability it doesn't have any ability.

Although it seemed like Ripjaw was useless out of water, and aliens like Wildmutt were also not subtle for combat, and I agreed with the statement.

But in my opinion, no alien was useless—they all had their advantages and disadvantages, with appropriate situations that only they could handle.

Happy with what I received after waiting for 10 years, I turned the dial to choose the one I wanted to become the most.

Although it is said that the Omnitrix malfunctions because of hitting it hard, that's for the Alien Force Omnitrix and Ultimatrix—because those were made by Azimuth for himself.

The classic Omnitrix was made for Grandpa Max, which means it was made to withstand the force of a human hitting it. But still, Ben used his full force all the time, making the Omnitrix malfunction.

But that didn't bug me. Turning the dial, I smashed the Omnitrix just like Ben would.
